    There’s a gift inside of us that is so big it can nourish the world. There is something for us to teach, be, and embody, that is literally the purpose of our existence. I help women go beneath the surface and help them walk through the fire as they grow into the great leaders they were meant to be.
    I teach about cultivating our inner wisdom, helping us understand ourselves, our purpose, and the ways in which our situation is preparing us for the great future G-d has in mind for us.
    The women I work with are passionate about growth and self-awareness. All women are leaders - some in their office, some in their homes, and some of entire cities. We are emotionally healthy and creative and are big dreamers. Most of all, we are committed to living lives of purpose.
    Through my videos and programs, women catapult their business or personal lives to realms of influence, impact, and inspiration. They change their marriages, heal from trauma, release resentment, find freedom from limiting beliefs, and deepen their connection to G-d. It’s time to literally reinvent yourself.

    Dear Rivka, I know this is probably weird for you to hear, but I just Loooove you!
    you are such a breath of fresh air, your honesty, your joy and your truth shine soooo strongly. You are such an inspiration. I watch ALL of your videos and always glean such pearls of wisdom from them. I too dress Very modest and Very bohemian. I'm a bit older than you, so that BoHo look was actually in style when I was young and it is what I most identify myself with. I love to match my head coverings with my outfits and bring in color, texture, and flow! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do...for just being YOU! Shalom :-)

    For those that easily overheat, I recommend sticking with silk next to the skin, layered with open weave linen or thin cotton. Silk adjusts the skin temperature. In cold weather, it will warm and in hot weather, it will cool. There is a company that makes silk thermals it's called Winter Silk. [warning very pricey] Linen and cotton breathe. Synthetics are basically plastic so it traps heat. I live in Florida. I know hot. The best places for silks are thriftstores.

    I love this video! I love love love this! Im 16 and modesty is a big part of my spiritual journey, I myself am pagan, I feel so free and beautiful in modest clothing, I love bohemian clothes and bohemian style but alot of what I find when I search for that style has shown more skin then Id like ( Personally I prefer to have my sleeves reach my wrists or my elbows, I like to have my collar bones covered and floor like skirts are the most physically comfortable ) these tips really help, now I can wear alot of things I couldnt wear before, Over all with makeup I tend to be fairly light on the coverage with foundations and when I feel like makeup I am very bold with the eyes and the lips with dark colors and exaggerated cheeks which is a ton of fun, I feel like putting on makeup is like painting, Anyways I love love love this, sending lots of love and blessings

    For older women: avoid powders, like the "setting" powder. It settles into fine lines even if you wear primer. Makeup tips for teenagers won't always work for the over-40 age group. Unless you're using Botox. And many drugstore brands don't work for us, either. Sometimes you really get what you pay for. Personally, I wouldn't wax my eyebrows or let someone wax them for anything. But your mileage may differ.... BTW, stores like Target and Walgreens carry low-priced clothing that is cheap because it's made in sweat shops overseas, which abuse their employees while taking jobs out of the U.S. Even some brands like Old Navy and The Gap use sweatshop labor overseas. How can we in good conscience support these anti-Torah, anti-Christian, anti-Islamic, and anti-ethical practices? You can't always avoid it, but it's good to be aware.

      I realize this is an older comment, but maybe a place like Kosher Casual is where you can find something. I've seen exercise skirts with built-in leggings, long sleeve tops made of wicking fabric.
      Online-Shops catering to Muslims such as Shukr have good options, too. You can find good things on etsy as well. It depends on you perception of modesty, I guess.

    Rivka, I love your boho style & this video as well as all your others, that I am going through one by one since finding them! I too feel led to cover my hair for modesty & to be set apart to G-d. Problem is once I tried it my entire family made fun of me & would not stop bugging me to take it off so I wouldn't embarrass them. My husband is the ONLY one who just said to do what I want but didn't care either way. I might add I am in my 50's & a mom to daughters in their 30's & a grandmother to teenagers so I know it would be different from how they are used to seeing me but I don't think a person is ever too old to obey G-d's leading. Any advice on how to do this at my age while living in a small town in the South where NO ONE covers their hair? Thank you & Shalom!

    Shalom Rivka, in your video you have mentioned you would give the “secret” to keeping your head scarf in place. I have tried everything I know to hold it and not slide back. I have baby fine hair and barrettes and pony tail holders have never stayed in longer than 3 min. I don’t want to use clips near my face. Help!

    • @thekingsdaughter4233

      @Teresa Blair you might want to go to the online store Wrapunzel (Rivka Malka used to be with them). They have velvet headbands and velvet lined volumizers. The nape of the velvet is supposed to grab your hair. My own hair is slippery, and my head seems to be somewhat flat in the back, but these do help. I understand Rivka Malka is using those. The material of your scarves matters, too. Silk slips right off!

    Rivka Malka-
    One thing I must share with you before I tell you how much I loved your video is this. Knowing what I know about baby oil, I would encourage you and your daughter to do some research on the mineral oil it is made from. "Baby oil is made of mineral oil. Mineral oil is something completely foreign to the human body. It is a synthetic oil which is a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil." Stated in this very informative article from hollistic mama.
    theholisticmama.com/why-you-should-never-use-baby-oil/
    It's hard to deny the harmful effects of this oil on the skin and luckily there are some much healthier options like olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter etc.
    Have a look and see for yourself. May this information benefit you.
    Thank you so much for sharing. I absolutely love your style and methodology to it all. Modest yet expressive. Bold yet graceful. Beautiful all around, rooted from within! I am certainly inspired and look forward to playing more with my style and the idea of dressing my true self each day.
    In joy and gratititude

    Do you wear leggings? Leggings are a great layering pieces, and good for dresses that are a little too short. Just curious if it would meet your modesty guidelines.

      Colleen McDermott not if the skirt is above the knee. The laws of tznius mean that anything that must be covered (such as knees) can't be covered with tight fabric. All skirts must extend at least a few inches below the knee :)

    I understand how important it is to dress modest. The Bible also talks about not being to caught up on the outside. My concern for you is the Egyptian look you are taking on. Some of the pictographs have the long length of the back of the head. Just saying. I do appreciate your desire to cover your body to keep that special for your husband only, so rare to find these days.

    why a woman cannot be modest in trousers?is something I never really get complitely....

    • @joeliabijah7732
      @joeliabijah7732 5 років тому +1

      Worldwide African Shop I think trousers can be modest certainly, but we Jews have specific laws about wearing men's clothing as well. So for Jewish people, our modestly laws (tznius), include wearing trousers so we can't be confused for men! But I tend to think that some very feminine looking trousers that are loose and baggy can be okay. Hope that helps!

    that sounds very similar to modern hijabis

    • @rivkamalka1
      @rivkamalka1  7 років тому +12

      It's really the complete opposite of that! Women are holy so we cover to protect our dignity. In this modern world where women are given more value to men if they uncover and flaunt their bodies, covering is the opposite of shame. Covering is pride and self-respect from a Jewish perspective.

    • @ho-ry5uf
      @ho-ry5uf 7 років тому +4

      +Rivka Malka Perlman I know, I am a Muslim and I believe in the same thing, the problem in our society is that they don't get the point that covering the body is not in any way making women inferior to men but actually protecting them from being seen as Just a body. And women's body itself is something that should be respected, not exposed everywhere as if it is an object.
      Sadly some people don't understand that, not only people who are against the idea of modest dressing but also those who practice it. I mean some cultures (like in some gulf countries) women are obliged to cover their bodies because it's only perceived as something sexual, they use religion as a pretext while it has nothing to do with religion it is just a corrupt interpretation of religion based on a perverted social background. which gives a bad image about both religions and people who choose to dress that way, as some people think they were obliged to do it while it is actually a choice.
      Sorry for my bad English , and I love you videos :)

      Mary Abc yeah can u make Dua for our girls at our masjid they wear so many tight fitting abayas even though we are salafi they still wear them it is actually sad. I wear a umbrella abaya so yeah my Hubby explained what hijab means it means to cover our bodies and in my case I cover my face out side my home it makes me want to cry when I see girls wearing super tight clothing men have eyes that go straight to the woman's boobs and buttox my husband has told me that and wow it's sad if a man would say that about we sisters.

    • @ho-ry5uf
      @ho-ry5uf 7 років тому +2

      +Fatimah if they want to wear whatever they want it must be out of faith not because of society. If men are perverts women have nothing to do with that, Even talking from the islamic perspective God told men to not look at women that way. And with all my respect salafi movement is more influenced by the closed minded middle eastern/ Arab mindset than by islam itself. some ''rules'' are purely cultural and have nothing to do with religion (and even ruined the image of our religion) . for instance nothing at all is mentioned of niqab in the Qur'an, and there is a Hadith that clearly state that women must not cover their face and hands.
      Anyways, we all ask God to guide everyone to the straight path :)

    • @fatimahh2942
      @fatimahh2942 7 років тому

      Mary Abc yeah but also the Quran says to cover our bodies and also the Hadith you are talking about is for prayer because it also says to cover our beauty and unfortunately what attracts men to we women is our faces and how we present ourselves if we present ourselves like sluts that is how we are looked at but if we present ourselves as modest women and bring our garments to be loose fitting and actually when niqab was brought up prophet Muhammad PBUH said to cover our faces clearly and being salafi doesn't mean to be closed minded it means to be the best Muslim and also to follow Sunnah according to the prophet and his companions so if their women covered their face we do the same because Allah told us to do so not we make up our own rules. if we did that then yeah we would wear short shorts and crop tops but God said to cover our beauty and that means cove our faces and also our hands because unfortunately before I met my husband I had a lot of marriage proposals and they told me the reason they asked and I am sad to say it was just my face they had to look at.

    Hi Mrs. Perlman, I appreciate your video about modesty and your role in kiruv. Halachos of Tznius is more than just collarbone. It also includes covering the shoulder and the back cervical bone. Wearing chunky necklaces to cover the exposed area of the shoulder does not work so well.
    I understand your Bohemian tastes, however to others the striking prints and colors of a Bohemian style is too loud and attracting. Perhaps a more subdued range of colors may work better.
    I appreciate your honesty.

    Israel was delivered from egypt, at least until it walked with its gods again.
    how is it no female understands true modesty?
    no make up, no jewelery, no bling of any kind. it is all vain and all a total waste of attention to false things of the heart and it is misguiding of your true self.
    it will not bring peace and it will not fulfill covenants. it breeds sin and makes the weak, weaker.
    not Kosher on any level.
    the relationship is in every area of your life and the truth is being rejected.

      no, Jesus is modest (meaning you act like him, not like you). not like those of soft clothing. as always, lost to what is not in Heaven, only in your vain gentile imaginations.
      we adorn ourselves in truth, you look on the outside and are dead in your works to know the will of G_D.
      fuck your idolitries and pagan pride, forever!!
      as pagans the only inheritance you bring to this Earth of your Fathers are made of shiny materials.
      you are not of Abraham and cannot be from Jesus.
      our ways are not your ways and we have testified this too you since the beginning and you have not piped to repent of the practices of the whoredoms of your broken world!!

      +laceylilymeadows thank you! I did grow up in a very modest, conservative area. For the most part, the women wear no makeup, no jewelry (not even wedding bands), and very modest clothing. I appreciate what you wrote. My dad was very affirming when it came to going without makeup, telling me that I was much more beautiful without it. If it wasn't for that, and now my husband saying the same, I imagine it would be a bit more of a struggle for me. It's SO important for men to affirm their daughter's/sister's/wife's modest choices, not put them down for trying to obey the Father :)

      alot isn't needed, and yet it still does not exist. don't worry about my language. worry about actions. Jesus is not G_D. there comes a time for war and Jesus was not a warrior and did not teach it. had this been Heaven you would have known a warrior, not a pacifist. what is behind my language is far more important.
