His lips
The sound of a trumpet is mostly the bell reverberating along with the buzzing of the mouthpiece
Mouth trumpet is using your vocal chords to substitute the mouth piece, and your lips to substitute the bell
Have your lips together with just enough tension so that they buzz at the same frequency as your vocal chords, badda bing, badda boom, you just got a 100% discount on your brass instrument
