    Nice I got the Termi on mine

      I will say the Termi fits better. I had to take some preload out of the spring to get enough space to install Zard. Once installed you can add the preload again but it’s millimeters from swing-arm until you sit on the bike and suspension compresses a little.

    Very informative, nice video editing too. Been wanting to do this for my Black and Steel 1260s. Is there a special torx bit or wrench set/ tool set you like?

      Just a standard kit from Amazon that has Allen/Torx T handles. A socket set for the same helps too

    Those BSTs looking good.
    What can you tell me about your Öhlins conversion? Model, price, etc.
    Also, what model of Michelins did you get to fit that 240mm?

      Floyd Elliott Thanks Floyd. Ohlins DU-726, price $950 USD. It is awesome and infinite adjustability. Ride bikes very nice and compliant now. Not as good as a touring bike but it never will because suspension does not have enough travel by design. I tried the Andreani kit first and paid $600 in labor, wast of money. Ohlins is the way to go. I changed it myself. Wasn’t too bad, just tedious and you have to drop exhaust. Here is the link for the Ohlins DU-726.

      Tires are Michelin Power RS. They feel similar to Pirelli in grip but a little softer in ride. In cold weather 50*F and less the Michelin tires feel way better than Pirelli and do not slip like the Pirelli Rosso II did on me many times when I was riding with temps in the low 40s or high 30s

      Floyd Elliott I should also say I have gone on multiple 1000 mile road trips with the Ohlins and felt overall fine. I couldn’t even go more than 3 hours on stock suspension without pain.

    I see how you got the header bolt on the left side off but how did you get the other two? Doesn’t seem like there is access wo completely removing the whole bottom tray which seems you didn’t have to

    • @Alberto1B
      @Alberto1B  2 роки тому +1

      Take the two screws out of the bottom of the ignition coil and move it out of the way. You don’t need to disconnect it. Use extensions and ball swivel or universal joint with socket. I passed extension through one of the openings in the bottom plastic tray.
      It is tedious but doable. It helps to close one eye 😉 and stick your tongue 👅 out. Lol 😆

      Also try getting to it from both sides of the bike. The header is oval shaped not round which makes it a little harder.

    What size is that bolt, and did you need a thin wall?

    Looks and sounds great but what is the performance like? I have read that it actually takes away from the BHP. Did you have the ECU remapped? I was looking at this exact same set up for my XDiavel.

      rufus I have not put it on a dyno so I do not know actual HP numbers but I can tell you how it feels. Zard made it so you don’t need to flash ECU. Running stock maps. In every mode the engine runs significantly smoother. The gurgling and pops on decel sound ridiculously awesome not annoying at all. I do not feel any power loss. Throttle response is great, the sound at speed going through the gears is simply amazing. You can tell they tuned the exhaust sound. Only a dyno will give real numbers but my butt dyno says it has smoother better performance.
      A few things I did not like: The clearance between swingarm and exhaust super close. That’s why Zard gives you a carbon hugger because factory one won’t fit.
      Carbon hugger mounting holes were not big enough for hardware so had to open them a little. Left side of carbon hugger sits higher than stock. Could be better designed.
      Termi fitment is better. Zard sounds better in my opinion.

    Clean I miss my motorcycle. How often do you ride.

    • @Alberto1B
      @Alberto1B  4 роки тому

      Before Backfire I used to ride it daily. I have 17k miles on it. Bought it new. Since I bought a Backfire, I don’t ride that much, maybe 2 times per week.
      If I could make a carrier for skateboard 🛹 I would ride it all the time 😆

      I bought it on eBay and they don’t sell it anymore. I have seen other ones on eBay for $300. I still have mine. PM if interested.
