Growing up I could never imagine pujols joining the broadcast crew after hanging the cleats.... But I'm still glad he is going to be around it seems for a long time in broadcast!!!!!
@cringemaster3923 who cares? Go check career RBIs, Doubles, total bases, Home runs, batting percentage, slugging percentage, Pujols is like top 5 in all those categories-ALL TIME. It’s unheard of. 30th? Seriously?
Native Houstonian here and hated Pujols a while after this moment. To be fair, I was 11 years old when this happened so obviously I was shattered seeing this live. Now looking back on it, one thing I really appreciate is the fact that Pujols damn near sprinted around the bags after hitting that homer. He didn’t milk it, he just put his head down and did his job. Really respect that. Still hurts to watch that towering homer but I have a greater appreciation for the way Pujols played the game now.
I remember being in downtown Houston near Main Street watching that. Thousands of people in the street, then he hit that. I thought the series was over bc they had won the exact same way the year before, but Edmonds ended it. You could hear a pin drop after it being so loud. Houston won the next game, then got swept in the World Series.
I was hanging with my brothers at age 13 and under while our parents were watching at a friends house. We were all going nuts and as soon as Pujols smashed it, we just sat and stared for 10 minutes saying nothing. Absolutely nothing.

His interview with bob was pure gold, every baseball player should watch it. I hope you guys post the whole interview
He’s a top 5 player of all time. I’ve always felt like he never gets the recognition he deserves.
ESPN doesn’t put him in top 30 it’s unreal

@cringemaster3923 let’s see if Ohtani is as good after a decade 🤷
@@Amplified435best right handed hitter in baseball history, change my mind
One of his signature moments, an absolute thing of beauty

Lost to a top 4 hitter ever, there’s no shame in that just memories
Awesome moment
For a good period of time, Albert was the greatest right handed hitter that ever did it 🥹
The greatest homerun I've ever seen.

and that homer hit the window, if that window is open that’s on the street
@@thomasthomasthomas296 not quite Main Street, but yes
Pujols broke lidge then bully the cheastros out the national league lol

reminded me so much of the Dave Henderson home run vs California in 1986
thing is, Houston picked themselves up off the mat
But not Lidge, he was not the same in the World Series after. In fact his career was never the same after that homer.
Whose ball was hit further? Soler or Pujols?
Didn't that HR break Lidge?
Yes
And you hear that one person clapping as he rounds third.
biggest moment of his career
It was iconic, but I think the 5-5 3 homer game in the World Series he had is definitely the biggest moment of his career.
I mean as awesome as it was we lost the series so
