As a widnes fan I have never been so ashamed! We built a great atmosphere for the last 20 mins to ruin it. Absolutely shocking scenes from 'fans' that turn up to cause trouble! Can guarantee that they would not have been to watch many games this season. It was a major shame that you could not parade the players after a clinical performance. They deserved the party atmosphere just as much as your fans did. Not the best game from either side but I can't complain at the result. Even though this is hard to watch, I am happy it has been captured as these 'fans' do not deserve to have the privilege of enjoying our brilliant game. Hope the rfl and widnes punish according but do not punish us faithful, behaved and disgraced fans. Also hope anyone involved in the abuse is ok, including the stewards and the tiger! Rant over! I am a Rhino's fan and have to say the Cas fans did Yorkshire proud yesterday as did their team. I always go to Wheldon Rd for the Leeds game and never have any bother, their fans they are not trouble makers and if they were you would see it at that derby. No getting away from the fact 100 or so Widnes fans let their club down badly yesterday.
I can't stand the Leeds team but the fans are probably the best in the league (aside from Cas) i was born in Leeds but closer to Cas, I love the atmosphere at our games as we are Yorkshire and we are proud, I will be gutted to see us lose at Wembley but we've got their and at least the cup is going to a Yorkshire team, not just a Yorkshire team but a West Yorkshire team. Last time I was at Widnes, a portion of their fans were clearly there just to cause trouble. Some of them were throwing food, lit matches, and most disgusting of all, some of them were spitting. Just a bunch of cowardly idiots who think they're hard because they are in a group.
