Fly Fishing the Margaree River Wash Pool for Trout

A Spring day spent on the Margaree River fishing the Wash Pool for trout.
Flys used
Purple Zonker. Although I tie my own flies, it is not cost effective for me to tie the different color zonkers. I purchase a dozen different colors from Amazon for $12.99. Just search for:

Do you think the trout are moving up into the brooks yet ?

I have not seen any fresh run fish in the rivers or brooks yet. In fact I have been fly fishing in the Bras d'or lakes several times and still not got a bite. The algae has just started to grow as the water warms up so I expect that to be the start of pulling the fresh run in to feed before running up the rivers.

Was tge first fish a brown or young salmon...,?? Looked like a brown,,,I fished that hole afew times myself green machine was the fly....tge specks seemed to like it...alot...no tics. :( can t catch what's not there though....first trip was end if june....last time mid Sept..only caught afew speckled trout...nice ones. All released...nice real video..
