Engineering and artistry, once again! Ben must be losing his mind watching his beauty not only come together, but come together with bespoke pieces/fabrication that are just remarkable! JOSH...drink! Go Bennetts Customs, keep moving forward!
The panel light you’re looking for is called a “post light.” There’s lots of different ones available, especially if you look at aircraft part suppliers. I just put some in a very similar engine turned dash and they turned out great. You can buy LED or incandescent as well.
Lots of really cool looking brackets and braces again! You put the “fab” in fabrication man. Lovin’ the “collapsible chest” steering column. Sorry, couldn’t help “ribbing” you a bit. It would be impossible to let that Rod go after it’s finished but I guess that’s the true sign of you giving it your all. Always consistently good production quality from you to boot. Thanks for entertaining me so well in my old age young feller.
Pretty solid steering set up Jordan, looks good. There's not much room in the A's for long legs and thick seats is there, hopefully a comfortable compromise can be found. Cheers Greg
@@gregjobson4844 I drove a 1930, 5 window all through high school and college. There’s a lot of room if you don’t chop ‘em all up and you like driving as if you’re sitting at the dining room table at your Mom’s house, lol.
Or make your own dash light from brass and some polly carb sheet as a difuser. Sand blasted to give pearl glow and low wattage bulb like an upside down half scollop shell. With your mettal fab skills this should be a piece of cake Jordan.
Only new to the channel like the idea of the floating steering column as for the light I’d have a look to see if you can find a old navigator light out of an old air craft some of those weren’t to large or real bright looking forward to seeing more love old hot rod stuff👌👍
First off, my bad I didn’t get my plug wires from noble speed shop. But will for my Buick engines! I got mine off a fellow who was selling cloth type wires. Your hair cutter man would only get half the price off of me cuz if he did the sides that would be it. More nice strong fab work reminds me of steering set ups in stock car racing. All the best. Reference the dash lighting, On my '32 Ford dash I used '58 DKW license plate lights mounted flush under the dash overhang. Your dash does not look like it has as much overhang as the '32 so don't know if you have room to do this? What type is the steering box? Bob
Jordan you are going to be a a tight fit Surprise you don’t make some room by cutting into the trunk and make it like you never did anything Just take a couple of inches is all you need Oh and you do need a new barber Just sayin Hope no feelings were hurt in this comment

Thank you for the excellent tips!
That's what I was going to suggest. Aviation post lights.

Bracket man!
The little column drop is cool. I saw a little conrod used as a drop once, ultra cool.
steering column bracket looks great.

Nice solution to the steering issue. Cheers!

Now this could be a great challenge!
Nice work. I'm doing the steering on my Model A coupe right now. This will be useful.
Great to hear Steve!
You could use a tag light for a trailer. Cheap and easily available.
Those were great tips for installing a steering system .thanks

Thanks Peter! Great tips, and welcome to the channel!
Exactly what I needed. I have a model A on a 32 frame with a Y-block and I have no idea how to fit a steering column nicely. 😅
They are always tricky! Get that seat where you want it and work from there
Excellent work as usual! Take care.
Check out early flatfender Jeep dash lights. That may be what you are looking for and easy to get.

Beautiful work,nice job
All really good. Why not put the seat base/back on runners so you have fore/aft adjustment? Parts readily available too.
Sweet fab work
Nice, thanks for sharing!
We need a pink meat grille hoodie!!!

Bob
Thanks Bob! It’s a HQ Holden steering box used to be a common swap for the Aussies
Just wait for new tool from Canada you’ll be the “bracket man”
Gday bracket man! I’m here for some brackets!

Just askin' why you didn't mill the steering column shaft into a double-D, rather than relying on set screws?
Early model jaguar have those dash lights
1950 ect
I am up to the same stage with my Model A. How can you get registration without a collapsible steering column?

Could you not just use a number plate light unit for the dash instead?
Most definitely
What day are haircuts? 😂
Hair cuts are tomorrow, but it appears Jordan just celebrated Whipper Snipper Wednesday. 😂
Hahaha any day is hair cut day if you’re not worried about the outcome.
I hope you're are not paying that guy .all he ever does is eat .

Your right chuck- those couple inches always make a difference and usually do it to my roadsters- will plan this
Arms totally straight out while holding the steering wheel - totally Italian style.
Definitely wouldn’t do on a hot rod vehicle!
Scheiße Minnelli, eh?!
Steering is on the wrong side.
When the car is upside down the steering is on the right side, thats foward thinking
