Hi Mits. I've been watching you for awhile. Sound creepy don't I. :o) I'm not really. This is a great video inspiration for those of us using the Hobonichi. I've been using some colored pencils Irojiten, but also have watercolor pencils. And your architectural washy tapes and faces tapes. Brilliant and quirky. Love it.
I really loved your doodle :) And I have the same Aquarelle pencils - thank you for showing me a new way to handle them haha, I definetly will try this :)
So cool!!! I don't think you need any more practice, this looks absolutely amazing!! :D Btw - is the water color "behaving" differently on the hobonichi paper than it does on the midori light weight paper?
palestblue Good question...not to my knowledge. I should pay attention next time I use watercolour on my lightweight. I do notice that the hobonichi is less wrinkly though. It still crinkles post watercolour, but it seems to be more flat when it dries. Or...perhaps it's because it's such a small area that I'm drawing in the hobonichi. Good question though..I'll keep you posted!
Judith Meyer Catherine Koeppen I haven't stamped in my hobonichi yet, but I imagine that the versa magic chalk ink should work ok since it holds up ok in my filofax. The filofax pages are not as durable as the tomoe river paper in the hobonichi techo. I'll definitely have to bust out the stamps/inks one day and check it out, thanks for watching! :)
MyLifeMits Thank you for the insight. I have heard from another hobonichi user that chalk ink works well with the hobonichi but has a little more drying time than with normal paper. I am just waiting for my Versa Chalk Ink online orders and I will try it out as soon as I get them.
Beth Schramm Thank you so much for your kind comment and for watching :) I believe I found it on amazon (japan) and searched pin masking tape ピンマスキングテープ

Love it! Do you have a link or info on the washi with the faces? Will it ship to the US do you know?

Hi have you tried stamping in the Hobonichi yet? If you do what kind of stamp ink do you recommend?
That's what I would like to know as well. Not had very good success. Either that or my stamp quality is poor for the paper.

Nice! Where did you get those ephemera from?
MamzelleDIY Thanks! I got them from my friend in Singapore :)
I love your videos!!! I wish I could 'doodle' like that? Also, van you tell where you found the straight pin washi? Thanks!

Thank you! I searched Etsy for pin washi and found it! It will be here soon! Thanks again . . .
