How to enable AUX-IN in Audi RNS-E (A3 A4 A6 TT R8 Exeo Gallardo) VAG-COM VCDS VAS

- In Audi RNS-E radio navigation system (Navigation Plus) you can enable AUX-IN audio source (stereo line-in), so you can play music from phone or MP3 player using your car speakers.
All you have to do is change coding of one module with VCDS or VAG-COM and connect couple of wires to the back of the RNS-E unit so you can have this additional audio source in your Audi A3, A4, A6, TT, R8, Seat Exeo or Lamborghini Gallardo!

Got it to work, my coding was different because I had more devices installed from the factory but the video did help to figure it out. I'll have to make a video showing my experience with it soon.

How did you do with obd eleven? I have obd eleven but i don't know where i should click and put numbers 😂
Works fine in my 2011 A3 with Bose system, and I was able to stream audio, but for some reason the mic gets deactivated, and I have to unpair the phone to be listened. Any thoughts ? Thanks very mucho

Couldn't you also select 56-Radio and recode from there? I know that's what worked for my VW EOS.

I did this to my Audi A4 B7 2008 with OEM RNSE, bluetooth, CD changer and multiwheel, aux works fine, but bloetooth stopped working. No phone is seeing it. RNS says "telephone is not available". How could that have happened? Coded back to the old code and still the same.

i got 32pin adapter with blutooth plugged in followed by positive and negative connected to positive and ground wires on radio and power blutooth.

Paul, did you ever get this working? Also, what pins did you take the positive and ground wires from? I'm trying to fit a RNS-E to a '01 A8 but having some sort of issue with CANBUS, as it's permanently live and no button illumination. The A8 CD changer is also a round 10-pin connector and no way to connect it to the RNS-E.
I have a cd changer fitted, the aux input uses the same input as the cd changer behind the rns-e. Do i have to de-activate the cd changer in vcds for aux to be enabled?
CD changer uses connector B (pins 2, 8, 9). AUX uses 32-pin AMP connector (pins 6, 21, 22).
Tried this coding 0209158 and still no AUX, even tried to disable the cd changer with code 0209156 and RNS-E still had the cd-changer option enabled. I restarted the RNS-E between each coding (holding down power button for 30 sec). Any ideas?
I also have something else connected to the 32-pin (thought it was the cd changer), the radio still works fine after disconnecting it, do you know what it is? (I have a bose sound system)
AFAIK only AUX and TV tuner use the 32-pin connector.
Try rebooting the RNS-E with button combination (force reboot - ua-cam.com/video/TNdXRHEXkEw/v-deo.html )

Yes. You need to change 3rd digit of your coding to 3 or 4 (according your current config).

Can you help. I have navigation plus with tv from factory but can't get tv signal for channel. Any idea how to go about fixing it? Have vcds but no codes for tv etc
If I hvae to guess, I would say that your TV tuner is analog and few years ago most of the TV stations ditched that technology and now transmission is digital (DVB-T).

No it doesnt have to be registered. But i tried coding it and i dont get the aux option in my source menu? my origonal code is 0509314?
Take a look at OBDeleven. It's a great VCDS alternative at the moment.
Hi I just bought my first Audi a4 sline b7 2007 and I have audi navigation plus system I bought a cable that goes into back of stereo that I'm supposed to be able to use for a aux it says just plug it in and it should come strait on but it hasn't can help please
U will have to use a genuine Ross-tech VCDS cable to enable the feature.
How or where does one get the cable and software to be able to change code?

Got my Audi A4 (2006) S-Line Audi Navigation Plus scanned (version 660) and changed the second last number by 4, rebooted but there is still no Aux option. Bluetooth 32pin module has been installed & has power (Flashing blue light) The System code was 0301117 so changed to 0301157. This System has a 6 disc cd changer, telephone and navigation installed.
Please can someone help me get the Aux option to show on this console?!

Hello, I have Seat Altea XL, when I recode the radio, I click Do it and nothing changes. The old codes are still there.. Can you tell me where the problem is?
It's probably a radio module issue. I believe that you need to visit your car dealer or some kind of car electronic workshop.

what exactly do you mean by "coded it" and "code doesnt work"?
The coding for a US with Sat radio and CD changer is different, the 6th digit should be an 8 if u have Nav, Sat radio, & CD changer installed.

Is your RNS-E running latest firmware? I believe it was 0550 or 0650.
I don't know, how doni check on the firmware version? i didn't see it in vcds. Also how would i get the firmware updated?

My friend is trying to do this for me, but when he tries to enter the code and press the Do It/Enter button, it asks him for a 5 digit security access code.
+BionicSammich Something is wrong. RNS-E should not ask for security access code when changing coding. Only some adaptation channels are protected with that.
mr-fix I am un certain if his VCDS software is legitimate or not. I am going to ask another friend if I can use his software and hopefully it should work.
