This hits my heart so incredibly deep. I've been on both sides of fucked up. The movies and books really set us up to see love as this sappy, happy-go-lucky, always easy thing. It's really not. Especially when your unequally yoked trying to have a relationship to someone. One is an ocean and the other a lake. Both are beautiful, but only one holds such enumerable mysteries in it's depths that its unfathomable. The peace of the lake is disturbed when the ocean can't contain their force and the combining of the two creates a flooding in between them that can't sustain and destroys everything in a salty mess. Finding someone else who loves to snorkel and then scuba dive and then find a submarine and explore the increasing depths of their personal ocean and come back to tell the tale, now maybe that's the person an Ocean person should be seeking, not someone who's barely willing to swim at all. An explorer of the most unfathomable frontier, the human soul.
