I went there like 20 yrs ago and as soon as I walked inside, I felt such Peace that I actually cried..as I left I knew in my heart that whatever worries & pain i held inside, that it was going to be all right...and it was ..💖✨🦋🙏🏼✝️🌻🍀🌞
I wanted to highlight its history so everyone could see all of the amazing history of a single structure. So often we see beautiful structures with such little context but this has such a history for this community it was important to me to share!!
I always try to look places up following a good visit and find out more about what makes them special and this one was so amazing to see so i had to dive in a bit to share!!
I am fortunate enough to have visited this place once! When I first walked into the church, I literally had tears rolling down my face because it is so beautiful. That has never happened to me. The overwhelming peace and comfort you feel is surreal. It is a true treasure! Thank you for bringing me there again❤
My favorite place in Tucson. I always feel peace, serenity and love when visiting. It provides wonderful history to the area. Glad you and Brock were able to see and experience The White Dove. 😊✌🏼😎👍🏼
I love beautiful old places like this that are sacred and have meaning. In a country that seems to love tearing down old things to build pristine new things, it’s a honor to see sites like this that are preserved and honored.
What I find interesting is that even our oldest buildings are still young in comparison to those in Europe which they continue to make sure exist as a part of their overall story. So finding places like these is a treat.
No problem!! This being one of our nations older structures it is a joy to be able to see it in person and then learn more about its journey to be preserved by the indigenous people of the area...
I grew up in San Diego and we were lucky enough to have many missions in the area and they would take us on field trips all the time throughout school it was really great
I moved to Tucson from W NY when I was 27 and growing up hearing Xavier Cougart I too called this San Xavier. It wasn't until I lived here for a bit I learned everyone here calls it San a-VIR . Yup. So if you want to sound like a native it is Sahn a-VIR Mission. Great video - thanks! :)
Thank you so much for highlighting this beautiful mission! We visited in 2003, but did not visit the areas outside the mission that you highlighted in this video. We hope to visit again and see the improvements and take that short hike!
Oh, Bunny! Thank you so much for this wonderful tour. I had no idea this existed! It's absolutely breathtaking. I got goosebumps from the amazingness of this church and beautiful surroundings! I MUST go see this for myself. Arizona is quite magnificent. I had no idea! I've lived in Florida most of my life and truly have never been west. I sure have missed out of beauty in the USA by sticking to the east coast. Always worked too much and been a single mom. I have to get out there! Thank you so much for bringing us here and to all the other wonderful places out west. I'm so glad I found you! This video is if super quality! Much respect, Therese Shine! XO p.s. hi Aussie Van Man aka mountain goat! Hehehehehehehe
Question of the day: Have you been to a historic mission before? If so where?
