Many thanks for your efforts with this nice build, i downloaded the v3 on thingiverese (though minus the claw for bucket and supporting arm) everthing was there, nicely designed, i opted to use an arduino promini rather than esp32, controlling via an ir remote 👌
Where can I get skids and the frame you have in your video?
A mini snowblower attachment would be super cool!!
Let me buy one!!
A tree
Or a gun
You should make a mini forklift! We can all live our dreams of being forklift certified!
Bulldozer is a must as well!
Yeeeess i want forklift too @professorboots
True
Or an excavator! My son would die to add this to the fleet.
@@djpenner34 i would love a komatsu d355a lol
(maybe even 3d printed armor to make it look like the killdozer)
I just got my V3 and I have it put together already.
This project works great.
I originally ordered the v2 but he had shipping issues. He sent me and email and offered to upgrade me to v3 at no cost. He even included a hand written note in the package.
This is someone who clearly cares about his customers.
I didn't think it could get any better
As I work in a warehouse, we are definitely building a life size obstacle run
Haha that would be awesome!
Just received my electronics kit in the mail and had it assembled and ready to test within 10 minutes of opening the package. What a fantastic experience for someone with amateur level experience in electronics like myself. What a great product, and a great model. Can't wait to try out more of your stuff!
Might be a good idea to check out some LEGO tracks as they are cheap and made out of real rubber. Printing tracks might be a challenge for some users!
That sounds smart.
The scale details on the warehouse shelf and pallet were really nice!
I just got my miniskidi v3 parts and the included note was by far the coolest thing I've gotten with something I ordered online, your a youtuber but still hand wrote a note included with my order that right there shows commitment and I know it wasn't much but that put the biggest smile on my face and I haven't even begun to build my miniskidi. Thanks for your hard work and the wait was more than worth it.
Oh I’m so happy to hear you liked the note! I really appreciate you supporting the channel and funding the next build, so it’s the least I could do! I hope everything goes smoothly during assembly and don’t hesitate to reach out if you run into any issues.
Fenix also appear offer a 800mah 16340 cell with a USB-C port for a couple dollars more. Great projects, love seeing your updates!
6:49 The rattle is actually more realistic than you'd think. Real equipment quickly gets wallered right the fuck out as they run 'em hard and put 'em up wet on the jobsite. That slop is still tighter than it would be on a real skidsteer!
the obstacle course made this a masterpiece. the swinging section was the best!!
Upgrade idea:
Different PCB so you can youse the motor controller but instead of a phone a 2.4 gh receiver.
But cool project and I am wating for your next videos.
Bought the kit, built the kit, love the kit! Thank you for designing and sharing this.
dang man this is so sick, good work!
Simply amazing work!! 👏👏
The mini skidi is basically a good as it gets! Next up should be an excavator to dig up all my failed print scraps. love your work!
Gained a sub. My youngest loves construction stuff and was losing his mind over this video, especially when you said excavator was next. I’m savvy with my bambu and fusion but your pcbway knowledge is out of my league. Again, great video and the lesson plan page is next level. You deserve a million subs.
It's so well designed。I love your work, and I love your videos even more
I'm so excited about the latest updates to the mini skiddy! I can't wait to get my full kit!
Congratulations!
It got a lot of fans here in Brazil!
Gratitude!
Parabéns!
Conseguiu muitos fãs aqui no Brasil!
Gratidão!
really impressive! nice work
This is awesome, I want to build one now!
Just started assembling mine, and it is so easy. I can't wait for the mini ex!
Wow !! Great you havent shipped to Europe before… Is the the 3.0 shipping to Europe?
Bro loving your mini skiddy projects! before long you're going to have a whole mini jobsite!
I found the video very amusing! ❤😂😊 new brother has been born welcome to the family Skidsteer 3.0!
Haha I’m glad you liked it!
For those who balk at the price of those battery cells, you can save some money by buying a bigger pack and sharing with friends (I've seen 8 packs for ~$40 that also take USB-C plugs which is probably more convenient than a USB-micro). Alternatively, you could get some regular 16340 cells, those usually come in a multi-pack that works out to about $4 per cell, with a USB charger block, and not having the charging circuitry in the cell gives you more capacity. Not sure what sort of low-voltage protection is built into those Fenix batteries, but if you get regular cells you'll have to keep an eye on that yourself. Either way I guess once you get below 2.5v per cell (so 5v total) everything will start to go wonky and that's still not *terrible* for Li-Ion cells.
we could find a safe way for everyone to "throw in" on bulk order . maybe professor can help moderate
That's Awesome I like that you put the lights the same place I did. I still need to get a video of my mini fleet.
Damn, I'm about 3/4 done printing v2. Might just use these to test tolerances before moving to v3 files. Ordered my kit, thanks!
Ughhhhh your killing me man! I havent even built the 2.0 yet and here we are.
Haha I’m sorry but I promise I don’t plan on changing much on the skidi here on out.
It’s perfect now I think you should build an excavator
It’s on the way!
I am so gona build this once I have finished my hot wheels eco conversion! You should do one!
That obstacle course was hilarious! I've got heaps of brushed RC speed controllers sitting around and a new very capable transmitter, so I think I have to give this a go.
How much does it weigh assembled? If I can get it under 150g I could put it into a combat arena....
Is it possible for the controller to use two joysticks to operate it like a real machine? I assume it would just be a little bit of JavaScript required
Neat little thing! I'd actually be interested in adding one of these to my collection if it was adapted to use traditional RC components. I've got a Futaba 16IZ I'd prefer to use! And an Orlandoo M02 which would be a neat transporter alongside the trailer.
Why can't you use your futaba? I use edgetx and it can easily do every mix you'd need and more, I'm sure it's possible on futaba.
Love the video. Tune down the background music a tad bit in future videos🤙🏾 thanks. Been following this build since the beginning. Looking forward to mini excavators as well🤞🏾
Honestly great feedback on the music, will do!
This is amazing. My 2.0 is jealous.
Well don’t worry a lot of the 3D printed parts can be transferred to the 2.0 skid steer!
@@professorboots if I can sell off the 2s batteries maybe I'll upgrade!
you deserve so many more subscribers
This looks amazing!! I am really curious if i could make a crane on this scale! Maybe soon going to try
Put a pre-order in for those electronics!
It’d be cool to use those obstacle course parts too!
Just bought skid steer thanks Batteries on the way also
Hi,
first of all, thanks for all your hard work.
my 3 y/o son really enjoys the Skidsteer, its his favorite toy by far.
i did however, edit the code to be more maintainable, readable and and easier to add now features. I'll finish it and do some tidying up. I'd be very happy if you'll take a look as i think it could help you with future projects and its my way to give back a bit to some who i really appreciate.
again,
Thank you for you work:)
Guy
Fun stuff man
U R a great guy!
does the new lid with lights fit on the 2.0? dont have the filament to print the V3 but would love the lights lol. Also love the build
Love the updates! Still no auto level on the bucket?
Hello I am Flynt I am 11 years old. I really want to build your RC skid-steer V3.0 but I can not afford the electronics kit I was wondering if I can buy just the screws and the custom PCB board Thank you for considering this from Flynt in Australia. My mum tried to contact via your website but the phone number format wouldn’t work.
Hi Flynt, I’m happy to hear you want to build the skid steer! I currently haven’t set up any options for international shipping but I’m working on making a course that will take you step by step through how to order the PCB’s/parts. Keep checking on my website for updates, and hopefully we can get you a working skid steer here soon
Ohhhhh 😢
How did it go? Did you build it yet?
Let your mother contact me, i will buy you his course if it helps you? Sorry for english i am from Czech Republic;). So let me know;)
wow, that is awesome, Petr!
@@SirToddTheGod He must bee so good boy and this little things can form his future;)))
Just saw this today scrolling through printables
There are tracks that are made to fit over the tires with only the 2 points instead of 3.
So awesome haha
Great video!
Do you know if there is any way to hook a flysky controller to the mini skidi's pcb.
You should be able to connect it directly or wire up some pwm in or serial in to the esp32. Or go all RC gear
For the clips to hold on the bucket, it would be easier to remove if there was only a single clip. Also for things that need to flex, using more flexible materials tends to be better, PETG is better than PLA for clips and buckles.
That is so cool!! Will we be able to built it ready to run with the complete Kit or do I need coding skills etc? I am an absolute beginner 😃
Waiting for the tracks to finish printing, then I need to do the claw because I missed it wasn't on plate 2.. but I have almost everything else assembled. :)
Any chance we can get the code to allow bluetooth IP connections so we don't have to lose external networking when using the skiddie? .. I may look at the code myself, but my skills in Arduino programming are about as good as that soggy paper bag.
Awesome 😎❤️✨
It would've been cool to see these machines cooperate with each other in kinetic sand(I think that simulate dirt for small scale). To lift, dig and get some track marks 😎
hey boots i have a slight problem with my miniskiddy, it looks like the motors have no torque to move it or lift the arm. any ideas?
Is it possible to get the schematics for v3.0 as we have for the earlier version?
Question, would it be possible to just use the style of quick disconnect (SSQA) like a real skid loader uses?
Mo Powah Babbby!
how about if u only want the ProfessorBoots PCB ? im from Sweden. Dont facey to order a full kit, when i only need the PCB! :) so cool build! love it.
Im sure it shows it somewhere but what are you using for the remote? is it a phone app or an actual remote?
Fucking awsome project!
Before I start printing, this, can you run a normal ESC in receiver and motor
Do I have to buy the circuit board or is there a circuit diagram? I would like to build the device completely myself.
What are the exact specs of the n20 motors? RPM and voltage?
in the link for the code and Gerbers, i cant find the Gerbers for the V3.0. is there a reason these files are not available?
Why do you use two motor divers, when they are a dual motor driver?
Is there a wiring diagram anywhere? I’ve got all the components myself but would be helpful to refer to a diagram to get it soldered up.
how do you find the new mini skidi Cricut board
Simplismente incrivel! Poderia fazer no proximo projeto uma escavadeira com braço articulado 😅
When will we be able to buy different colors of it?
Id love to see PWM/Analog driving and a remote
I'm currently working on it as a thanks to ProffBoots:)
i'll have it on git in the nest few days. hopefully, it will be adapted as it uses the original ps3 controls and is just a drop in code replacement
so the code is basically done. needs testing if your'e up for it:) as of now, it supports the ps3 controller, i can add many others if there demand for it:)
nice upgrade! could you upload the STLs separated? so i could print it on my voron V0.2. thanks!
You can separate STLs in almost any slicer and then export them in smaller chunks
After the excavator can you make a semi truck?
Will the kit ship to New Zealand?
Hello. I live in Vienna, Austria. Is it possible to order electronics for mini skids.
Hello, I built this SkiddSteer with a PCb 3.0 but my motors doesnt works. My servo works breat. Thanks for your help
Lovin' the updated Mini Skiddy! You said the new motors can handle 12V, could ur electronics handle an 11.1V power source rather than this versions 7.4V?
Technically yes as everything else first runs through the buck converter
@@professorboots & only the 2 drive motors & the arm lift motor pull power directly from the power source? Not the servo's or anything else?
Some CAD design tutorials would be nice.
I ordered mine and got it in, now I want to print a second one. I wish I knew how to run it using a regular 8 channel rc transmitter.
I have a flysky NB4 ground transmitter and it has enough switches im sure I can run the skidi with but I have no clue how to run the motors. Im used to single motor setups for micro vehicles but not multi motor.
You should add a physical controller to the mini skidy
There is a ps3 controller 🎮 arduino firmware if I'm not mistaken
Any ideas when the preorders are going to ship out?
Everything not shipped out yet should hopefully be going out next week.
Shipping to Australia? :)
How do I order a PCB as I'm in the UK so cant order an electronics kit.
I didn’t know I needed a mini skiddi
I can't find the gerber files.
I just finished printing this little masterpiece. What rpm motors are recommended?
Did you find the spec? I thinks it's 100rpm
@FalkoRichter I did not find the spec the professor used. I also did not look. I had a selection of motors on hand. I ended with 60 rpm motors that seem to work fine. I tried 100 150 300 rpm motors, and they all seem to struggle with turning. But I also am using some very cheap speed controllers.
Can you sell a conversion kit IE just a circuit board with battery holder, fuse holder, and headlights to allow us to upgrade a 2.0 to a 3.0?
Does the full kit include trax?
Yep!
We need a komatsu d355a.... Also need to model city hall buildings and a hardware store
This is my kind of video
Do you plan to ship also outside the US? Would be great!
Hey, not currently just because the cost of shipping and regulations. But I just opened a workshop on my website for people internationally that will take you step by step through ordering the pcb and all the other misc parts
@@professorboots ok I will have a look for this. Thanks!
would be nice if we could use an ELRS RX rather than wifi
Any hope for eu shipping ? 😬
Whould cr123a batteries work
Nooooo, just finished building my second v2 and dump truck!!!
It needs a counterweight to help with the balance
Adding fpv is all it needs
