- Patriots are very angered by the current miss South Africa top candidate who has foreign parents and how her identity is questioned. we witness this happening recently for miss South Africa 2023 where one of the candidates has a parent from Malawi. in this case the candidate have both parents from outside the country. find out more on this video.
I have no problem with her being a foregner and using her name. Now the issue is that her Nigerian people who lack humility and silence have started saying saying "Nigerians are the best everywhere they" "representing Nigeria" "Nigerians excel everywhere" "Nigeria is proud of you". She has not won and they have already made this about Nigeria and Nigerians. If she wins we will never hear the end of it and if she wins an international competition we can never have that pride as a country because the Nigerian umbrella will be all over her and we can't claim her victory. Her victory can never be a South African victory. With Mellisa and the Asian lady that could be a South African victory. However with Chidima it's a messy situation
I hate the arrogance in them and I get your point on this one.
To add on to that, If she loses there will be an uproar of how "South africa is Xenophobic" and we don't "love our Africans brothers and Sisters" and more hateful and damaging thing which will start another Xenophobic war on BOTH ends. (I hate when people call ou South Africans Xenophobic whilst they're being Xenophobic and they guiltrip any S.African when being called out by one)
True Nigerians have started howling already
Is bryoni south African???or even African

d's girl was born in SA, school in south Africa, she has d right to vote for candidate in south Africa. She has d right to contest.
@user-xf4mm1iw6s True. But she is representing the Nigerians who are living in SA. For a person to be accepted in a new country, he or she must adopt the culture of a particular tribe in that country. She must adopt one of their indigenous languages. A black person who can't pause and speak one of the indigenous languages in SA can't represent the country. It's not wrong for the girl to compete. I even wish her luck. However, parents emigrating from their country must encourage their children to learn the languages of their new countries.

I too don't have a problem with her entering the pageant if she is South African. However, legally or according to law of domicile, one of the parents must be a South African. If I heard correctly, none of her parents are South Africans and this begs the question, how did she become a South African citizen whether by birth or naturalized?
It's very difficult to say at this stage because no one has come forward to provide valid information about her background and how she qualified to get an ID, including her parents. I also don't think Miss SA does background checks.
From what I know, you can get automatic citizenship if one of your parents are South African. Otherwise you have have to apply for citizenship at 18 if you are born in the country and both your parents are foreign, or if you permanent resident and lived in the country for more than 10 years

@@NonsoOkoye-pe4rf It's not jealousy. There were a number of beautiful SA girls with SA Lineage that were overlooked. That is why we are disillusioned. @@sellomonama7797one day we will be having a Nigerian or Zimbabwean as president
That's not true. If you know the history between South Africa and Nigeria then this makes sense. Also Zozibini Tunzi and multiple other winners are black South Africans
I'm tied of the double standards this country has . She's African , closer related to is than a European or Indian
You know what, call it what you want. You people can go to hell. This lady's parents are not South African. She better not win or we will be boycotting Miss SA
Every competition has its own criteria. If she meets the criteria I don't see any problem with her being a contestant.
And besides, South Africa is a cosmopolitan country. And because of that we're bound to have citizens who were born here but have a heritage from outside our borders. It's the reality that every cosmopolitan country in this world faces.
I feel this cosmopolitan thing has been forced on us. We actually never asked for it, hence we are always pushing back against it

@@lovedlover2667 let's not use words just because they sound nice. This is not a status quo, it's the reality.
That girl is a first generation citizen. Everyone who understands that term would not even argue about this. She has a South African ID, therefore she's a citizen and she qualifies to represent the country, either in sports or any other competition.
Black South Africans clutching their pearls over a black woman in Miss South Africa when they have a rich history of white and Asian titleholders is HILARIOUS
black sacn can clutch who ever they want to in their own country, so why forcing yourselves on them?

she must be disqualified if not a single blood of SA in her... if she wants to win why not join miss nigeria or mozambique instead why is she depriving a local SA girl of the chance to represent south africa.
And white South Africans with European blood? Or Asians competing?

I’m a South African that moved to Australia and I’m a citizen, but kept my name but don’t have an ID or SA passport anymore so does that make me more South African than chi chi simply because I’m white and was born to a Dutch immigrant and South African family? Yes she is beautiful but should represent her people Nigeria
There's an allegation that she is divorced. Her father in an interview said he came to SA in 2010 using visitor's visa and married her mother. Honestly I doubt that this contestant was born in SA, because her father said when he married her mother,
they did not have a child in 2010.

As a South African - Nigerian myself, I knew that if I entered Miss SA people would criticize me and say I must enter Miss Nigeria. Then Nigerians would say “she didn’t even grow up here why is she entering the competition”. A Ugandan -South African made it to the top 6 a year or two ago and no one said anything. The problem is South African are fixated on African countries they don’t like. If someone had a British and SA passport nobody would care.

Guys she will win Miss SA because of one thing! Nigerians outnumber us and will vote. So unless we do something but I see both sides. SA is diverse but if she was half South African like many others we’ve grown up with it would be fine but now it’s not make sure 😅

As someone who is now living in England I’ve lived in SA my whole live till I was 18
although I have Congolese origins SA is the only home I know but I’ll never forget the xenophobic attacks and manifestation that happens every year in SA mainly killing , projecting hate towards black foreigners cause I’m yet to see blk South Africans tell any white foreigner to go home, but they are so quick to attack the blk foreigners.
In this girl’s case idk if she lied or the person who type her Biography being someone from the miss SA team lied or got it wrong ? Because in her video she clearly says that she’s from Cape Town ?
I personally think she could be given a fair chance being that her documents are in regulation with the law.
Someone in the comment said she could just go to Nigeria and participate at miss Nigeria thn come back to SA
Which is stupid cause if she was born or raised in SA, studied in SA from grade one to twelve lived there her whole life what makes u think she knows anything about Nigeria for her to go represent Nigeria ?
This for me proves how backwards the country is, cause I have a friend here who is also from SA and was born here in England she has the English nationality and she runs for England.
No one here will tell her hey u love sports but u do not have English blood so go back to SA run thn come back to England, it’s silly !
She’s at home just as any white English man is.
I understand where you are coming from, but saying Xenophobic attacks are happening every year is misinformation and exaggeration.
