If I wish to use saving account fund for purchases, transfer etc for immediate purpose, can be transferred online. Can liquid fund linked with original saving account? Otherwise it will take 2 days to transfer on working days.

Though not guaranteed yet liquid funds have potential to deliver higher returns compared to savings Bank accounts in most of banks.

Aren't Flexi Fixed Deposits, a kind of Savings Bank account, offered by banks not better than these Liquid Funds for contingency purposes particularly for Senior citizens?
