How much of a risk are the zippers? Zippers are IMO the weakest point from hardshells to packs. While these duffels provide way more efficient accessibility than roll-top dry packs, if those zippers fail on a multiple day trip on water, it is game over. What is your take on that?
I definitely would say that the importance of always keeping the zippers lubed and free of dirt and grit cannot be undertstated. Failing to do so will have you losing zipper teeth. Keep a tube of the Yeti zipper lube in the bags and use it frequently. If you have to force the zippers, lube it up
Although I’ve never had “hands on” on the Road Warrior, the main difference is water resistant vs. waterproof. The Road Warrior is made up of PVC coated poly tarpaulin whereas the AT duffle is made with 1000D RPET which is waterproof and much more resistant to abrasion. Additionally, the inflation valve feature gives the AT Duffles added capabilities that the RW is not designed to fill.
