I have the exact same system, works perfect for me, never had a problem with it. I can testify that should you start the van without the fob you will get a call within a few minutes from the control centre.
We have the same system S5 with the fob. I can start it on the drive if I forget the fob. I once drove off about 2 miles before getting a call from Scorpion asking if I was driving it. I was led to believe that the vehicle wouldn't start at all if the fob wasn't present....Is your one the same?
Having a second fob away from the keys is impossible when your away in the van, also I would worry about determined thieves threatening people within the household for info when the vehicle didn't start.
What company fitted the system? Looking to get one fitted 🤞🏻

Haven't tried starting without the fob but even moving the 'van on the drive caused a call from Moving Intelligence
