      +Eddie Rollins Vinson was so popular around this time that he left Cootie's big band in '45 to start his own big band, which was a great band too. Some of his best-known songs were "Cherry Red," "Kidney Stew," and "Somebody's Got To Go."

      That was no sour note, several of Vinson's tunes after leaving Cootie's orchestra have this

      The tune i Think is called "V for Victory". Glenn Miller used it too in his band.
