Now you are doing container gardening with Lawn Plugs to test your Super Fertilizer in Beach Sand... This is kinda like watching the people on food stamps in the red light district to see if they grow up healthy on their diet of Ramon noodles and dope.
I finished my lawn refurb today only to find my LCN journal was delivered and then if the day couldn’t get any better I get two LCN videos in one day!!! I celebrated by making a Black and Tan with Southern Tier Pumpking and Warlock, the only way to finish such an epic day! BTW I am so glad you didn’t totally deplete your foot rest bag of Milo!
I love seeing experiments like this. Hope you do more in the future. Maybe try challenging/validating common lawn "things you should do" and "things you should never do"?
Is that a SKOOKUM shirt! Awesome. Pretty sweet test you got going, a lot of different variables to watch. I’m cool season for now, but the wife and I will end up in Charleston sc before it’s all over. Then I get to learn the warm side of things! Great vid as always!
This was an awesome video. I used super healthy rates of RGS and ammonium sulfate with some Wetting agent with humic. Left the clippings from that area to add some organic material back into the sand. Can’t wait to see the results
How is the story Augustine coming wish we could get an update! Making plans to buy some plugs again next year! I think I read your going to be selling plugs next year give us an update on that with prices as well! Thanks
I use my gorilla cart for everything. I carry so much stuff in it that used to take forever to haul. I just love it, and it's one of my best buys. It has one of my "Dominator" stickers on the side.
For wvery 1” of rain or irrigation. It makes 12” of leeching thru the sand , hard to get people to understand that lol. The university of fl, did a test for leeching with blue tracer die and it moves quickly
What would be interesting (to me at least lol) is to plant a plug into pure clay soil and see how much treatment with the N-Ext products and Milo helps change the soil structure over 6-12 months.
What about Zoysia for your side yard? It will tolerate a bunch of selective herbicides like quinclorac, which is labeled for torpedo grass, and a wide bladed variety will match better with you St Augustine than bermuda.
This is interesting, Alan. Did you change your hose end sprayer? Also, would you suggest pulling plugs, letting them grow in a controlled environment, and then planting them? I have Bermuda.
Al, just out of complete interest, I live in the UK so I guess more like what you my American cousin would class as cool season turf type... what would happen if I got some St Aug plugs from you and planted over here. Would it completely just die due to if being too cold 10c to -5c over the winter it would it somehow evolve and adapt to our climate?
Is it safe to apply prodiamine to the plugs and surrounding areas after planting them in the soil? South Florida house with weed problem I'm trying to control.
Great info!!!! I need your assistance. Just moved into our new home, new SOD was installed and it's not vibrant and thriving like it should be. We water 2 to 3 times a week, I put down insect treatment and fertilizer. I've tried everything.
As Hydretaine isn't a fertilizer, I predict that that plug will not do as well as the others in the sand due to the lack of nutrient. It won't dry out as quickly, of course, but should look like the control planting. And yeah, WAY too much Hydretaine granules in that indoor planting.
As someone in Fort myers the ban doesnt cover enough of a time frame. should extend to a month before and after rainy season. june-sept isnt enough. should be april 1- oct 31. and the list of fertilizers should be strictly prohibited
Hey allyn i live in central florida and looking to resod my entire yard but can decide with which sod i want to go with if floratam or palmetto grass what do you reccomend.
@@Thelawncarenut awesome. How does it hold up with weeds and crabgrass.. i currently have bahia in my new home and looking to make the move to st. Aug.
If I sprayed my yard with weed killer I’d have nothing but dirt. I know what Bermuda grass is and I have some in patches. Now that I’ve watched vids on crabgrass I now know that 75% of my yard is crabgrass. I have no clue what to do.
3 years ago my lawn was all dirt and weeds, now I have a thick TF and KBG mix and my neighbours think I'm a hard worker. Little do they know I'm just copying some freak on UA-cam

LCN needs a Spotify account. I’m always amazed with your playlist. I’d follow that playlist

Great video again!! Like seeing the cigars and beer from your Q and A video!!!
Ok thank u, got house back in October last year, trying to get it going. I put milo and starter fert down, looks way better than it did. Thanks
Nice way to test all the different products we use.
I love seeing experiments like this. Hope you do more in the future. Maybe try challenging/validating common lawn "things you should do" and "things you should never do"?
Okay....now you have me super excited to see the results as well as what you said about offering plugs in the future from your site!👍😁🎉#StAugGrassLove

I can't find the subsequent videos in the series.
You need to do Bermuda on one side of the yard and cut it reel low. It will give you so much content and me so much help. Cheers dude!
I love experiments. Makes me want to do my own pots with different types of grass.

sounds like fun!
I have used Hydretain professionally for almost 10 years. It works
you're a real medic with that leaf blower.

brilliant idea, i can't wait to see the results of this experiment!
LOVE the testing approach!
I’ve actually just did like a 100 plugs in my back yard I’m curious to see how it spreads and grows tired of fescue dying in the heat
This is gonna be interesting to see how that RGS stands up to the quality I keep hearing about.

Are you controlling how much water they get as well ?
Love the Major Payne homage. LOL
Loving this hurricane rain! Time for domination

You almost sounded like John Perry there. Had it down with that coffee cup though.
You need one where you don't cut the roots.. Curious. Because at work we just drop the plug in and step on it.. Lol.. No love
What about Zoysia for your side yard? It will tolerate a bunch of selective herbicides like quinclorac, which is labeled for torpedo grass, and a wide bladed variety will match better with you St Augustine than bermuda.
Hi, so Fall is the right time to put St Augustine grass plugs in Central Florida?
This is interesting, Alan. Did you change your hose end sprayer? Also, would you suggest pulling plugs, letting them grow in a controlled environment, and then planting them? I have Bermuda.
Lol my free tip in your box every week.
I was worried that you wouldn't have your footrest/air freshener bag of Milo. Glad there was some left.
original packaging too
It will be worth more that way when it is a collectable!
"The blueberries are perfect!!!"
I love that he gives us the time hacks to jump ahead but I NEVER do.
Can't wait to see the update videos! Isn't it illegal to grow "grass" in your garage in most states? Lol.
When is it safe to mow st aug plugs after installed? How should you mow the plugs? Scissors? :)
Yes sir! Milo proven to be the best shit on the market! Lol seriously I love that shit!
Allyn came you explain why you burn the weeds in the rocks a cracks?
Oh yeah bruh, you gonna get jacked! Love it.

Would saint Augustine be good grass for north east Oklahoma have a few big shade trees but lawn still manages to get decent sun light

Ahh, Yes, I'm in North Florida.
Al make a fert life hat please. A good one.
What fall fert should we put down in place of milo every surrounding store near me is out because of the shortage. SOS
2:48; you triggered my Alexa. 😂😂😂😂
Ricky Mcgrath mine too lol
mine was doing it too all during the edit.
If only it was that easy to shut the wife up
You get into way too much!! Good video!!
How are you gonna sell plugs and have them arrive alive? Never seen that online.
You can put your tip in my box anytime Buddy!
Cool video man😎👍😎

Milo kicking! Can we use liquid milo in spray?
plant it in the yard, let it be with it's friends
What are your thoughts on the butler plugger? I’m thinking about getting one for a renovation.
I like it for small jobs but it won't work for sugar sand soil for obvious reasons. For big jobs use and auger and drill
The bio stimulant pack do you have to use the one gallons in that year, how long do they last.
they can last years just not a good idea to let them freeze
That HAT the digi camo Milo HAT - I must have it!!! How do I get one? Money$, bribery.... waaatt??
Thought you'd break out some Alice Coopers feedin my Frankenstein there for a moment...
Give out st. Augustine plugs for Halloween?
I want one
Allan, Can st Augustine grass be grown in Columbia Sc area?
Anyone know which lawn buggy Allyn is using in this video? TIA!
Are you able to put fertilizer on your lawn yet? Or is it still restricted?
Still restricted
Why is it restricted?
it's complicated but in short, fert runoff into our waterways causes issues in the gulf that then creates red tide.
Same here . Just up the road in St Petersburg FL. Cant throw down untill October 1. And Red Tide is no joke here.
As someone in Fort myers the ban doesnt cover enough of a time frame. should extend to a month before and after rainy season. june-sept isnt enough. should be april 1- oct 31. and the list of fertilizers should be strictly prohibited
Doesn't the milo need some bug access and microbe access to work?
heat too, and all in the roots already
Nice shirt
I heard that Mac in the background early in the video. RIP
yeah, his death hit me pretty hard.
@@Thelawncarenut wouldn't have assumed you were a fan. But definitely sad, seemed like such a happy kid.
"Well aged bag." Lol.
The 2017 vintage may be lost forever
@@Thelawncarenut I heard it peaks at the five year mark.
What artist sings at the ned please, Sir. thx
Palmetto!!!! I thought you have been saying Paul Meadow all this time . You and your Merican accent 🤪
Oh yeah, Time Bomb by Iration (not a sponsor) playing in the garage @ 2:43.
Hey allyn i live in central florida and looking to resod my entire yard but can decide with which sod i want to go with if floratam or palmetto grass what do you reccomend.
Palmetto is softer underfoot and can do better in partial shade. Also does great in full sun so that would be my reco of the two.
@@Thelawncarenut awesome. How does it hold up with weeds and crabgrass.. i currently have bahia in my new home and looking to make the move to st. Aug.
Messed up your hashtag up there! What is staustinegrass?
That Mac miller caught me off guard at 2:15 lol
his music got me through some stuff, no joke.
Don’t forget to subscribe to newsletter to get his tip in your inbox 😂😂😂
What was the outcome?
Why you have cut the Plug in twice?
why cut the roots?
Good vid as usual, fert sniffer.
Any plans for selling Emerald Zoysia plugs?
not sure what cultivars I'll have yet but will know soon!
Looks like you’re taking a page from connor ward’s book with the amount of over-application of product in this video haha
Why is a tray of plugs so much more expensive than a square of sod?
I'm glad you asked! ua-cam.com/video/AJs7Tdv3SRg/v-deo.html
@@Thelawncarenut Ah, yes...Now I remember. A lot of the cost is the labor involved.
"mother plants" is the key terminology 🖖

2:11 IS THAT MAC MILLER BABY???
Those plugs are skookum as frig
A real nut would never put back a half empty bag of milo. Throw er down!
mteske1 that is his foot rest. I guess you are new to the channel.
#fertsniffer love it!
Skookum as Frig
Tip in the box... haha
I watched this at 144p. So you know I watched this first.
The sand will not hold any of those ferts.
That's very close to the soil we have on the coasts so we will see what happens
3 years ago my lawn was all dirt and weeds, now I have a thick TF and KBG mix and my neighbours think I'm a hard worker. Little do they know I'm just copying some freak on UA-cam
I wish you had done proper application rates in real soil. I don’t think these results will be transferable to the real world which is disappointing
You ought to incorporate your draws into these vids
1st!
Now unroot yourselfs lol major pain 🤣!!!
Keep it MOIST!
Tip in my box.....No thank you.
