Thank you for making this video series. It's such a valuable insight into the LGBT community of South Korea, which I think is largely unknown to foreigners who don't know the Korean language.
I wanted to provide some additional context for the word "bromance" from an American perspective. A big reason behind its history is because men in this country are often discouraged from having close friendships with each other the way women do. Particularly back in the 2000s when the word "bromance" was at its peak of popularity, if two men were close with each other, even if they were both heterosexual, it was seen as "being gay." So calling it a "bromance" was a (maybe ironic) way of acknowledging this. It's very silly; there's no reason they couldn't just call it "best friends" the way women do. So you're right that it can be homophobic, especially when used to erase actual gay relationships, but I think the original word has an element of patriarchy/toxic masculinity involved, as well.

i scrolled down here to make sure someone had addressed this! tbh from their discussion it sounds like the word is being used the same way in Korea as it is in the US

"bromance and girl crush are queer erasing" is one of the best summaries to describe these two terms, thanks for making this video

I really liked how you talked about fans being a part of kpop not just the producers, and if fans are queer and interpreting it in a queer way then yes kpop is queer. This is also how I see it!

I just found this channel quite randomly. I am really enjoying the content and discussions! The subtitles are also very well done and I can tell a lot of time and effort were put into them. Also, respectfully, Ju Yeon is cute cute cute
