I dig your enthusiasm for Hondas. I've been a fan since my first new Prelude 5 speed back in 1983, and here in the States I've owned Preludes, a '95 Legend GS, two RSX coupes and now a 2012 Acura TSX Sportwagon with the stock K24z3. This wagon is the best built Honda I've owned and it's a pleasure to run as my daily driver...plus, in my area they are as rare as an NSX or Ferrari on the road. Keep it up with the cool videos.
Beauty! I've been driving one of these for 7 months now, upgraded from the 07 accord wagon. I miss the extra boot space but it's a much nicer car overall. Do you reckon the 'K Flash' tuning would be a worthwhile improvement?
I have the cu2(not wagon) with the reflash from serge bo and can confirm it is worth it , vtec hits at 4500rpm and pedal response is a lot better but would agree with gas mileage , still seems similar to before.
@@reihana8273 Yeah realistically the fuel economy isn't gonna be changed much at all. It's still a 2.4L engine no amount of tuning is gonna change that a noticeable amount
@@coolchow do I sound like I talk in mpg?? Haha nah but in all seriousness it averages about 10l/100km which is 24mpg. But it can do better if you only do motorway driving
Love your work dude! Great to see some kiwi-market cars being reviewed professionally! Please keep doing what you're doing, if you ever come down to Chch for some reviews I'd love to take you out my JZX!
Thank you for this good review. I have the same model in the manual version Type S.As they have already said here, this well when you do not treat it as what is not,a sports car.Even so, it has some "joy". A greeting from Spain.
Nice review. I’ve got an NZ new Tourer N, So basically the top spec Kiwi model, But I’m impressed to see how well the lane change assist and adaptive cruise control work on these considering I don’t have them on mine. I do think the NZ new models have much nicer interiors with the omission of the horrific beige and white colour blocking .. Hard to go wrong with charcoal/black/navy. I find they’re a bit of a clunky car around town and I’m short trips, absolutely epic on the open road, and surprisingly gutsy in manual mode on roads like in your review.
Love the video but I’d correct you on the fact that the engine fitted JDM Accords of this era are fitted with K24A - not to be confused with any other K24 variant etc
Hey man nice review. I’ve just bought one! Do you know if the head unit in that one came with the car from Japan or is it a new aftermarket unit? I want to put a CarPlay unit in mine but have been told it isn’t possible. Cheers
It’s really not. Compared with a 325i touring, it’s fwd, makes less power and torque, has a worse gearbox, has less features, is all in Japanese, among many other things. The N52 is a very reliable engine.
I noticed in the video this car has a double DIN head unit conversion but the climate controls are on the head unit thats removed - how did the owner overcome that? Or are they just not able to see the AC temp?
I was on the fence about upgrading the 18" on my CU1 to 19". I was hesitant for the reason you mentioned and i'm glad i didn't pull the trigger on it. But it is really high up on its legs, so lowering it is kinda mandatory to get it looking sleek. Guess that's what i'm doing next. Any tips on it not becomming a shopping trolley when lowering? Want atleast some modicum of comfort.
Hello, do you know how high the engine is reving at cruising speed on the highway, say around 130 kph? And by the way, thank you very much the review. I like this car a lot, which I think is a great one when you don't take it for what it's not: a sports car. Sadly, they were largely overlooked in Europe as confronting local sedans, including german premium brands, in a market where minivans were the prefered family choice and transitioning to SUV.
@@KiwiCarLife many thanks, this is very useful. I'd like to trade my fn2 typeR for something more comfy in terms or noise cabin. Accord cu2 is in first position, but i never drove any k24.
@@winstonwolfe5733 they're definitely confortable - but are not particularly fast - especially with the auto with really long ratios. Could be a shock coming from a Type R?
Really peeves me that the tsx wagon, even the tech package, still doesn’t have lane keep assist or adaptive cruise… I wonder what other features we missed out on…
You are lucky on that side of the globe, since there are a lot more Accords for sale... I would like to change my CU1 for a CW2 (reasons: Boots space, ACC, LKAS, CMBS), but I jast can't find any that would worth to change my perfectly funktioning CU1. Middle facelift - first lot of them (08-10) had the orange indicators, then the next lot had clear (11-12) and then they facelifted it again and it got clear ones but with a different design (13-15). Will have to look around some wreckers for some 2011-2015 cars

@@KiwiCarLife So in this case, would the option of putting a manual gearbox fit if it comes with an automatic gearbox? I'm thinking of buying one but it comes with an automatic gearbox, maybe doing a reprogramming will gain more acceleration?
@@josemariadiazrodriguez1097 yes you could manual swap it, but it would be a lot of effort for not a huge gain. Frankly these engines aren't capable of making much more power than stock due to a few limitations. You can try but frankly you'd be better off with a CM2
