Custom Pneumatic Gripper for Roll Handling

Ergonomic Partners developed and built this custom roll handling tool to grip and pitch large, flat, 300 lb. rolls. This pneumatic gripper allows the user to grip the rolls by their outer diameter and pitch them 90 degrees. The grip jaws are lined with Linatex rubber and have a grip range of 36 inches to 50 inches. To prevent accidental release of the rolls, the system features our gripper safety circuit. The custom gripper tool is integrated with a JD Neuhaus Pneumatic Chain Hoist suspended from a Gorbel Articulating Jib Crane. It features a steel and aluminum powder-coated frame with an ergonomic floating handlebar and soft grip handles. The controls feature proportional up/down hoist pendant controls, momentary pitch controls, and grip/release controls used in conjunction with a common button.
