Do not let the fact that they refer to probably the zapfish as "it" without stating that "it" is the zapfish at 5:40 distract you from the fact that they spelled "Crusty Sean" as KRUSTY SEAN like 2 lines below. I don't know which "pros" were responsible for the creation of this guidebook, but I have an inkling that they may not be the pros they think they are.
I think this was written by some Japanese people or some people from a foreign country so I think that's what the terrible grammar comes from lmao as they tried their hardest to write this in English
this was an ebook- this was an eletronic, online guide, that someone decided to print and publish- which explains the links and crappy screenshots that look like every printer picture from school ever- who was so desperate for money that they decided to print out this guide, make it a physical book, and then publish it for the world-???
Honestly, Splatoon in-game voice chat sounds like a terrible idea. Just look at the voice chats for other games- slurs, misogyny, shitty 'trash talking'. Just because Splatoon is a 'family-friendly' shooter doesn't mean that the community is all glitz and glam.
I'm still concerned how a person could possibly know this much about Splatoon and still make a terrible guide. They literally didn't tell us anything about Salmon Run except that you can play with friends lmao
This book is so bad that it’s actually funny. I especially laughed when the book literally said “shoot your load”. I love to watch more bootleg reviews from you because they’re entertaining.
i used to do some amazon self-publishing back in the day and lemme tell you, there's a LOT of garbage made through kindle publishing/createspace (my stuff included which i have removed, but damn this bootleg guide made the books made by 14 year old me look like to kill a mockingbird in comparison), some of the books feel like they're written by an ai also i love seeing that tier list crop up every now and then, it was made for splatoon 1 by some random person and then circulated and copy-pasted online on articles, gaming journalism at its finest i have become too familiar with that tier list because i try to find bad splatoon articles to make fun of and trust me it comes up more often than you think
If I were to write a bootleg guide, I'd put in more effort than this, and it doesn't even take that much effort to make it good to begin with! Plus, I could list extra weapon sets, add boss challenges to the single-player campaign, and even tell you to read the Salmon Run manuals instead of giving the majority of advice! An example of an Octo Expansion introduction could be "This game-changing DLC campaign will cost you twenty dollars on the Eshop, but don't worry, it's worth it. You also have the option to get it free with a Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass, but don't bother. It's better to have it permanently for $20 than temporarily for $50 a month."
Based on personal experience, I have a very strong feeling that the writer was a Japanese Splatoon fan that was attempting a fan project in English. The writing is very foreigner-learning-a-language sounding. But the fact that literally every second sentence was a truen't statement is just unexplainable.
There was a terraria one, and it didn’t even mention king slime said not to bother building houses (which is very important) and anyways it was the exact same how to download part
this is like you asking someone a question and they only give very vague responses that makes sense at first but when you think about what they said you have no clue what they just talked about
6:43 So are we not gonna talk about how the guide lists the wasabi splatershot (which is only in splatoon 1) as one of the best weapons in splatoon 2?!
Reading how the guide is, i honestly think the person that made this speaks french first and then english because they way we form a phrase in french can mean something else in english. Like if i wanted to Say " i like Apples" i would just Say i like Apples or maybe love Apples to put more impact on the fact that i like Apples but in french the Word like and love is the same but There is a lot of variations of the Word meaning certain degree of liking or it can change depending on the context of the sentence. I speak french as my first language so i speak from experience.
Nah, this bootleg guide must have been made in CHAI-NUH, the same place where a bootleg version of Splatoon - Sepia Go! - was made! The difference between China and CHAI-NUH? The Great Wall was built in China Paper was likely invented in China Movable type was invented in China Kǒng Fūzǐ, known in the West as Confucius, was a philosopher in China Turning Red stars a Canadian tweenager whose family immigrated from China Sepia Go was made in CHAI-NUH
Can’t believe this was found on a Barnes & Noble site. Imagine being a young aspiring Splatoon player, you don’t have a switch and you’ve never played a Splatoon game before but you want to get really good at it. Then one Christmas you are gifted with a switch, Splatoon 2, and this unofficial gamers guide. You read the book cover to cover several times, learn nothing, and never touch the game in the end because learning from that thing is impossible. _Imagine the pain._
The beginning part when it says how to get Splatoon 2 on pc, ps, and mobile tho 💀💀 Like it's not hard to redeem Nintendo platinum points to get the official guide💀
Am I the only one who noticed that it's a SPLATOON 2 guide, yet it lists weapons from SPLATOON 1? Such as the wasabi splattershot, the berry splattershot pro, and the dual squelcher? That doesn't seem right does it?
Knowing Splatoon 2 has a checking payload to see if it's running on Windows 98... The fact that they included a tutorial to download it on PC isn't surprising
I feel that this official unofficial guide is made worse becuase its meant to be a Ebook which had links in it but made it a physical book showing how little the publishers/ writers know about books and no editors apparently
NINTENDO IS NOT AGREED.
WELL NINTENDO NEEDN'T AGREED.
i wonder if they agreed to shooting your load in a broad area
True!
WELL IT STILL SOMEWHAT DOES IT'S JOB. MAYBE NOT WELL, BUT STILL DOES IT'S JOB
AND DAS ON PERIODT
After this, I feel like Jay should just write his own splatoon guide book
It would be 100% better then this Official Unofficial Book!
I'd buy it
Yea! Jay could do it.
it should be half the price for a crap load more information
@@comac4719 Sure. But his information should be good from a guy who played Splatoon 2 for more than 2,000 hours!
I bought this guide in 2017 and I can tell you right now that it made me exceptionally good. I have beaten turf war.
bruhh 💀
wow
Bootlegs can be good, but then there’s horrendous… I wouldn’t mind seeing more videos like this 👍
same mate
Yeah I got 2 Minecraft unofficial guides, and those are pretty good tbh.
Thought they are outdated now.
The fact that they actual give instructions to install the game on almost every platform available is crazy
Splatoon vr when?
@@HyperNova808 fr
and also on where to shoot your load
And no instructions in the actual game.
And the fact they gave more information about that than the singleplayer and multiplayer modes put together. 😆

omg its you-
Krusty Krab 💀

6:51 ah yes, my favorite weapon in Splatoon 2, the Wasabi Splattershot
(for those who are unaware, the Wasabi Splattershot is only in the first game)
This book is like someone tried to write Splatoon as a report essay and they could only put a certain amount of words.
this was an ebook- this was an eletronic, online guide, that someone decided to print and publish- which explains the links and crappy screenshots that look like every printer picture from school ever- who was so desperate for money that they decided to print out this guide, make it a physical book, and then publish it for the world-???
You know you’re doing something wrong with your game when even a bootleg guide calls your game out for not having in game voice chat
I honestly prefer what this one tumblr user suggested: Voice chat but your voice is filtered into garbled inkling speech
@@YourLocalCreature that sounds unbelievably based, i like it
@@YourLocalCreature That would honestly be the funniest thing ever

You didn't get a bootleg bruh. You got a sandalleg
Jay reacting to bootlegged merchandise is not something I never knew I needed.

Unofficial guides are the gifts that keep on giving. The ones for Pokémon and some from Fire Emblem are exceptional examples of this.
I love official unofficial game guides
i love how theres always a sick introduction to the guides but then there is no guide lol
...the list of "Top Shooter Weapons in Splatoon 2" is a list of weapons from Splatoon 1.
My brother in gaming, bless you for buying this for content because holy crap a bot wrote this.
Get your money back.
4:22 jaymoji knew what he was doing 😭
I have not laughed so hard in a minute, thank you Jay, truly😁
This was Definitely my favorite part btw 04:10

Nintendo is not agreed is the best line I’ve ever heard
4:12-4:19 “shoot you load on a broad area
My what?!
On my way to Barnes & Noble to pick up Splatoon Game Guide Unofficial. I will now be the best not really Turf War player alive!
Salmon runcanbe, my favorite game mode.
Ah yes, Splatoon 2, my favorite game on Wii U and Playstation
This book was made in a google doc in a day
Him: what about rainmaker
Me: what about clam blitz?

Nintendo in fact does not agreed

Well this “official guide” hasn’t aged well
the wasabi splattershot (which ISNT a splatoon 1 weapon in a splatoon 2 guide) is the best weapon in splatoon 2
I'm convinced Barns & Nobles didn't hire an editor before ripping this guide straight from the internet
There was a terraria one, and it didn’t even mention king slime said not to bother building houses (which is very important) and anyways it was the exact same how to download part
It knows it’s Official Unofficial when it tell you how to get the game on Wii U, PlayStation, and Windows!
This is definitely my favorite video of yours, Jay😙
I'm pretty sure "get gud" is more helpful then this guide.
Splatoon on PC would be cutthroat.
Bootleg guide for splatoon? Nah thats the guide for splash animation
this is like you asking someone a question and they only give very vague responses that makes sense at first but when you think about what they said you have no clue what they just talked about

I think you need to click the link to get more info ... You know just tap it with your hand or something
4:17 HUGE Pause.
6:43 So are we not gonna talk about how the guide lists the wasabi splatershot (which is only in splatoon 1) as one of the best weapons in splatoon 2?!
wdym the wasabi splattershot is totally in splatoon 2! 🙃
This book makes Sheldon look like an expert
That ain’t The guide for Splatoon that’s the guide for Paint game
This is the best possible guide.
There's already a book for this. The S2 Splategy Guide

The guide as a whole 🤨😑
Jay seems like a guy that switches the Splatoon 2 cover art and just keeps it like that
?
i love how when he was reading the rank "tip" and only mentioned rainmaker instead of rainmaker and clamblitz
Jokes aside. In Splatoon 2, I main the Kensa Octobrush. In Splatoon 3 the greatest game (for my opinion) of 2022 - early 2023. I main the Inkbrush.
3:30…or Clam Blitz
Written and approved by Splat Tim himself.
SHOOT YOUR WHAT ON WHAT NOW?????
why can i smell the book...
I- how many other bootleg Splatoon guides? Im going to buy for fun
0:03
Me: *laughs in 3,986 hours*
I remember there was a time where I got a bootleg guide once for Christmas. Some are good but some are just straight awful
rainmaker doesn’t exist
The person who made that "guide" stayed up 4.95 days and made that ( if you stay up for five days you will die )
I feel like I get more help from those generic "Continue?" prompt tips in fighting games than this guide book... 😕
It’s like one of those game guides you find in the book fair
These people probably have 2c worth in brain cells
I feel that this official unofficial guide is made worse becuase its meant to be a Ebook which had links in it but made it a physical book showing how little the publishers/ writers know about books and no editors apparently
I find it funny how the rematch just resulted in his team being spawn camped.
This “book” has to be an April fool’s prank
You see, they made the guide for all the maps. It’s not in this book, obviously.
The way this is wrote is straight up my reading skills
sometimes bootlegs can be pretty good.
then there is stuff like this.
"Official unofficial guide" is the best thing I've heard all day
THAT WEAPONS LIST IS SPLATOON 1!!!! Wasabi and Berry Splattershot?
5:40 I had a stroke hearing this
Dang, they did the aerospray dirty. They put it down at the bottom of the list right next to the custom splattershot!
The author does not know one word:
EM-U-LAT-ION.
