Nice touch letting the builder speak for himself via subs. These car guys are like Thai boxers: people look at them and say: "Nahhh", totally underestimating them. Then, when they see them in action, whether in the ring or on the track, it's "Holy Shi*!!!"
Dude I just wanted to give blessing's. I been living on and of in thailand for 20 years, i speak the language been working there etc. I just wanted to say don't care about all the "I know how things work I lived here for a long time" people. Who is dissing you etc. You have a genuine intressed in people and open mind about learning new things! You are great man! Keep it up! From one photographer to another!
I work on the NHRA tour and have had Top Fuel Cars my entire life and thats amazing what those guys can put together with those resources! I can't imagine.

3:00 those ramp tow trucks are so much better than what we have back in the states. One of my Thai buddies in BKK had them build an enclosed box truck with ramp - coolest tow truck ever.

We got em in sweden, don't remember the car brand, but they are the main towtrucks here nowdays. theres still hybrids with a back lift, but most of em got the flatbed and a thick wire for just pulling the cars onto the "sled"..
Seriously that thing is made perfectly for car enthusiasts and isnt just a generic tow truck that works but sucks for low cars. We need special treatment too lol
So cool seeing these wild builds the Thai's pull off, low 7's is no joke for a small boosted diesel. Good video CB!
Man, I never cease to be amazed at what these motor heads are able to get out of their builds.
I was at a customers place last week where they were finishing setting up their "Hot Farm" class pulling tractor after a trip to the dyno shop where they got 1540 HP at the crank, from a 640cid inline 6 with a single 3" in/out turbo (per the rules) They also run soy diesel because it makes more power with water injection. Have you seen water injection on the diesels? I don't see why it wouldn't work on these drag trucks. When that's all I have to compare with (lots of my customers have pulling tractors) it blows my mind what these people are able to do.
Man, can you imagine if those guys got to see how to properly setup a track like we have in the US? Those guys would be competitive with anyone anywhere. I still cringe on the launches they have to do with the conditions they race in. I constantly anticipate parts and shit flying everywhere when they are staging/launching.... so, so brutal. It says a lot about how well some of them are built but we've also seen plenty of issues of attrition at the end of the night with some of those races you've posted.
Chad, Idea - some drone shots along with starting line as you do them now, on some drag races from that perspective that's typical for what's shown on TV so you can get a little more impression of the speed. They are certainly hauling ass for the numbers they put up.
Question, you generally say their times in the quarter but what exactly is the track length they are on? You even see it here referred to as the "quarter" by the old dogs while only being a thousand feet instead of 1320 since NHRA changed the rules. Just curious how they are doing it there.

The 4JJ1 engine in this drag diesel truck is still produced by Isuzu to this day as the 4JJ3 engine. Another future tuner classic.

It seems to me they really love their Isuzu engines in Thailand. Never really see much of them over in Europe. Always thought the Isuzu Piazza looked kinda cool but never seen one in person.
The engines are super solid and seem over engineered from factory
We have loads of isuzu engines over here, just no one seems to do much with the bigger ones. When we was younger we played with the 1.5 and 1.7litre
isuzu trucks are very popular in europe. We don't tune them like they do in thailand though

Just a side idea, how cool would it be if Thailand and one of the shops came over and started a race team in Funny Car class in NHRA. Be really cool to see Countries approach that for different racing ideas. You see alot of drifters and time attack cars and crews doing it, would be sweet to see in the high and mid dollar racing. Funny Car refers to the Car class and shape of the body. I feel Thailand could add Aero in ways teams have only dreampt about. Nascar could be fun again.
