Had the pleasure of meeting this gentleman at a meeting in my early recovery from alcoholism and listening to him share his story. To be in the public eye and able to share his struggles really helped me. Thanks John
i just started listening to Duran Duran again, went to a concert recently I am so impressed with this man. He was an early teen heartthrob for me, as I am sure he was for all my generation. I am so glad to hear him talk this way and he is such an excellent musician. I have much respect for him, for helping others, and speaking out, in the public eye, to go against the grain! God bless!!!!!!
So proud of you JT. You're an inspiration to everyone. Glad you're still alive giving us great music and that we're still able to see your beautiful face!
I am so happy too that John is sober, healthy and happy like me now and I have follwed Duran Duran from 1983 since 1990 and then I was an addited over 15 years too from drugs but I am sober, healthy and clean since nearly 10 years. On the 22.th of Janurary 2007 started my new life again and I can understand John so good and I wish John & everyone who knows how it is to be addicted and to get sober.... a good, healthy & of course a lucky life and that we never took that shit again!!! Sorry for my worst english please, greetings from Germany ;)
Fantastic John!! I have been sober almost 17 years. One day at a time. I have been a fan since the early 80's. been to several concerts. Great thing happen when people get sober. Would love to meet you at a meeting sometime!!
Good for him ! While I have never had an addiction/SUD, (busy with work/college etc) I fully support those who realize that there is a problem, and WANT to do something about it ! It is nice to see him be so open about it, and want to share his experience with others ! Also, I suspect that there is no standard profile for someone who has a SUD, because it strikes those in various socioeconomic groups (judges, physicians, attorneys, musicians, government/state/city /town employees, retail/store workers, and those in lower paying positions). May today be the day that others who have a SUD, will begin to regain their health and life !! 👍
John, as I said before, this is a truly brilliant share. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration. I really want to post you a gift as a gesture of thanks but only have a US postal address and I went all the way to Companies house in the City to find that was all they had. Can you please send me a PM with a UK postal addressand I can send it to you? Not least because I still owe you an apology for asking publicly about your black and gold key ring collection but not in the context of cars or properties! Thsnks and lots of love from Victoria Vine xxxxxx.
I've got TWO tiny points :- . No fabric in society !!! ....... All 6ft fences ...... Coffee shops at £10 ..... Lucky to have a park 😞 . If it takes 35 years for people to understand the brilliance of their music ???........ I'd "hit the bottle" as well 🙂........................ (very very clever musicians/songwriters) 🙂

Being on a band and going on tour is very difficult. No wonder he used drugs.
Oh please. If you think that's very difficult, you've never suffered.
