- Holiday time is a wonderful season indeed, whether its time spent with friends, with family, with the people most awesome and inspiring in our lives... and it is GREAT to be able to share a few memorable moments over the past few weeks with YOU today as well ): It is so cool to have you here with us for today's dinner! Thank you for taking the time to be here.
This video begins a little series exploring the areas around Chiang Mai, a little mountain road trip once again. SO excited, and I hope you are too, to hang with Li, myself, Mark and his whole family, we are going out for several days of mountain exploration Thai-style, and it is gooooooing to be awesome!!! Wow! Wonderful Link-up with Mark and Family!! The food was perfect. My family sometimes do a similar style of cooking called Mongolian Hot Pot. Makes for great get-together!! Chiangmai is absolutely the Best!!! Thanks Joel and Li for sharing!!
Finally i get the term for this Thai Bbq style … Moo Ka Tha!!! Grea looking produce you have there!!! There was a bit of nostalgia when you mentioned the 129 bht eat all you can… loved the experience of eating in a car garage in the morning (in between Ratchathewi and Phaya Thai )that transforms into a barbecue place at night!!! you can notice the droves of hungry locals barbecuing in the well used, wavy , dilapidated grill tops … so much fun with our group of chefs when we were studying in Saphan Kwai!!! This was our last meal before we exited and were served copius amounts of beer by mini skirted promo girls from beer companies… i brought my family back the next year and enjoyed the energy of the eating crowd, the food and the low low price!!!! Also loved the childlike and loveable expression of Li as she picked the strawberry… Micah is getting really big and Yong looks good!! When will we see a Little Joel or Li???? hahaha Great eats Joel and Mark!!!

Strawberry picking was a summer job for me when I was a kid. Long hard days, sore backs, bruised knees and a good share for your belly. Strawberries are super sweet in Scotland, due to the long ripening time, although they are more forced with the use of polly tunnels.
