Just want to say that I saw the Nether survival videos when you were small. I was searching for a nether survival series to watch when the nether update came out and found your channel, and then rediscovered it again when you had gained more popularity. It was a crazy realization when I realized you were the same person.
Endermite have different despawning rules than most mobs and will despawn after I belive 120 seconds unless name tagged. Boats don't work to prevent it from despawning like most other mobs.
