    One thing I've found is that with Extend Spell(probably from a rod), greater enduring spells plus boosting your CL to 25. You can make 1/round a level spells last 24 hours. So haste lasts the whole day. Bodak's gaze lasts the whole day.

    I was going to make my own lich witch just now, literally about to click on the game, when I saw this video sitting in my recommendations. I suspect my build will be much different though because the addition of corruptor as a mythic ability really allows the witch to come into her own as a debuffer/disabler.

      Being able to spam Hexes from the early levels really makes playing as a Witch great as you don't have to "conserve" spells as much or melee.

    Love this build, I mist say that the power of hexes are vast. I have a sorcerer lich; however, I'm strongly considering rolling a with litch. Thematically the mesh and hexes are op.

    I think you undervalue witch of the veil abit. She's so fun to play. "can just cast invis". but you can't. Free vanish every round at level 1. Free dimension door and vanish at 11. Free greater invis at 16. Thats ALOT of spellslots that would be required. EVERY ROUND. the free dimension door lets you move around constantly, without spending a move action. huge for cackle, frightful aspect, and other auras. anything that can be cast as a move action, such as cackle, or full round spells/attacks.
    Some of the witch archetypes have locked a patrons, which should have been mentioned at that point as well. Witches do have limited spellists, so their patrons are very important in flushing out their spell lists.
    Admittedly, this archetype valuation, is probably specifically for this build, not overall.
    witch of the veil/trickery gets weird/phanstasmal killer, so combined with Hex will DC, fits right into the illusion will instant death builds.
    Although, I've been trying to figure out of theres some way to make use of the witch of the veils 100% invis uptime for flat footed attacks. they do get enlarge person, transformation, ice body, and angelic aspect greater...

    It should be noted that your loremaster levels significantly tank the hex DCs, as these scale with witch levels. If you can get the DCs to land, some of the higher level hexes are actually quite good, like agony or animal servant. Also, given the lack of choices that meaningfully benefit your melee capabilities, I am not sure its the best choice of patron.

      I ended up editing out a section where I talked about the loss of Loresmaster being that, Hex DC.
      The issue is there is no point to the higher level DC based hexes when you can just cast Absolute Death or Embrace Death, or have so many slots from Lich Merge + Abundant Casting Line to spam the Lich Mythic Spells.

      I actually was going to include a section on using it against the final boss (as they have TONS of buffs which are also their downside since Corrupt Magic will destroy their stats).
      Sadly for some reason my Lich save vs final boss was bugged and I couldn't get the battle to run...

    Giving the Fighter archetype to the Skeletal Champion gives access to any combat feat skipping all prerequisites. One could pick Greater Two Weapon Fighting (for javelin tossing) or Greater Snap Shot (which would combo nicely with Inquisitor for Seize the Moment) too. Am not sure how the feats are coded, would they give the stacked benefit of the feat line or add an incremental value to a variable, but if the former it makes them excellent picks as well!
    (Love your guides btw, one of the rare channels I find useful as a pathfinder optimization veteran.)

      Unfortunately for these feats, with the way they are implemented, you kinda need the other ones for them to work correctly, I believe.
      It's why we get Shatter Defenses, because of how efficient it is, especially for Lich with their fear aura!

    I think a half-elf (+4 cha) stigmatized witch (using cha) and lich, whose hp is based on cha would be more effective. Well, with the spell progression coming much later I can see this hurting a main campaign, but this build would be awesome on inevitable excess dlc.

    Witch is my favorite class in TT pathfinder but really quick way to make sure DM focuses you once he realizes just much of a pain in the ass you are. “What’s that oh it’s just neg 2 to all your attacks or saves, what’s that? Oh now you have to roll twice for every roll and take the lowest, oh btw …. Laughs in cackle 😂😂😂

    For a pure undead party, I think there is something to be said for brownfur transmuter. 3 of the characters are melee damage dealers, and you cannot buff undead with legendary proportions if I recall, so transferable frightful aspect is probably rather powerful. And it could be a useful way of buffing your skele if you went for a melee skeleton.

      Brown Fur is great overall and was actually my first Lich run.
      I just really hate how little spell slots (not uses) you have, because for MANY buff spells you just want to cast them once per rest like let's say Heroic Invocation, yet you would be stuck with it forever.
      I'm really hoping they eventually add the Exploit that lets you change spells at will without resting, I really felt like they planned on it, what with the mechanics of the up "arrow" you have above any Arcanist spell.

    I'd love to see your take on an elemental rampager one of these days :) mythic paths are kind of tricky to pick for it. Angel spellbook merges, but sword of heaven doesn't work with natural attacks. Trickster kinda works, as it does with any melee build, but improved critical requires picking one weapon type, which is rough since you're using claws, bites, and gores. Demon, perhaps?
    And going full vs multiclassing... hmm. The level 20 buffs for ER elements are nice, but i dont know if they are nice enough.

      I have not tried Rampager yet, mostly because I find the loss of a pet REALLY crippling.

      Another issue with Rampager is that now, Elemental Barrage will not work for melee hits, which is sad.
      Plus so many enemies past Chapter 3 have multi elemental DR.

    I've now played a build mostly based on this guide on unfair (about to launch the attack at the end of chapter 2) and if there's one thing I'd change it's the Patron choice. I picked Strength and wish I'd gone with Agility instead. Cat's Grace/Haste/Freedom of Movement are far better party support and I actually rarely find the time to even attack with my witch anyway.
    Missing Haste in a heavy physical damage party (Seelah/Sosiel/Camellia/Wenduag + 4 animal companions) is not great and Nenio doesn't contribute too much because at this point a) spell slots are limited and b) blasting is inefficient. Plus Woljif missing for the relevant part of the chapter, so that's not an option either.

    Greater invis was nerfed hard, it now starts combat if you cast damage spells. Whole point of this spell is now lost.

    I agree, necro spells are pretty bad early on. Without mythic lich spells, there really isnt a lot, but blind, exhausting ray and banshee blast are quite effective with a decent DC. The problem with conjuration is that it falls off rather extremely beyond the early game, with near blanket immunity to stinking cloud on non trivial enemies beyond chapter 2, grease being countered by wings, which become rather common, and the like of good high level spells.

      Conjuration later on is indeed not as useful as in Kingmaker, but at least by then you already have the mythic spells to rely on.
      Amusingly enough some demons with wings are not immune to Grease/knockdown such as Gallu.

    that merged book nerf for spontaneous casters is a load of crap. It unnecessarily favors prepared casters way too much. I think they need to walk that crap back.

      For 24h invis, you can simply reach 25 Caster Level, easy do to as a merged Lich at Chapter 4+, then cast Greater Invisibility boosted by an Extend Rod or the feat.
      This will make Greater Invis last 5m, which then turns into 24h because of the Greater Enduring Spells mythic ability.

    On the matter of Elden Ring. An issue for me is that I could never luck into a build that was both dungeon crawler and boss killer, UA-cam is generous with information on builds that can take down bosses, but the routine of journeying through the map is difficult because melee fighters can counter faith or magic movesets that take time and don't permit you to simply kite as one would a boss, you get your azz kicked mid-movement. Shield and poke is a fine dungeon crawler build but takes too much time to defeat a boss. Where is the build that gets you through the game without the necessity to run past everyone while being an effective boss destroyer? I would handsomely reward the chap with this information. Pardon the interruption here, I just loved how you helped me to get through so much of ER.

      how i play souls games is I defeat every enemy i come across. It's jut more fun for me that way. I find a intelligence/dex build rocking the moonveil or wing astel and a shield with swap to staff can adventure well and destroy bosses. You could do faith/dex as well.

      most hybrid caster builds can easily get you through dungeons, bosses and open world with little time and effort put into them thanks to their higher versatility. str/faith, dex/faith and dex/int weapons like the halo scythe you can farm from cleanrot knights or the moonveil are incredible against all kinds of enemies and allow you to kite effectively and deal good melee damage at the same time. if you take into account ashes of war too, using the flame of the redmanes which is found in caelid allows you to deal decent damage and basically insta-stagger both bosses and trashmobs. hoarfrost stomp was also very strong before the nerf both as an aoe clear and as a single target ability and might be still usable but i wouldn't really recommend it now without testing. some easily obtainable boss weapons like the blasphemous blade have extremely strong aoe clear and tend to scale better as a hybrid caster too. my recommendation would be to farm exp in easy hotspots like the mohgwyn palace ledge or the caelid wastes until you can use your favored weapon and have a good amount of hp and equip load and then go through the game at your own pace. if you are worried about having to run past enemies in a place where you can't use torrent your best bet is always getting bloodhound step on a light weapon like a dagger and to rush towards bosses while untargettable and then swap back to your boss-killer setup before entering the fog wall. to make everything a whole lot easier you can summon spirit ashes to tank for you, a good earlygame ash is the jellyfish one and the rotten stray one which can respectively inflict poison and scarlet rot, but the skeleton ashes are also very good since they can resurrect when killed if you manage to keep the boss's aggro off them while they regenerate, meaning that they can effectively tank for an infinite amount of time as long as you can keep them healthy, later on in the game you can switch them out for the mimic spirit ash. weapons with very high stagger values tend to be good against bosses if you can catch them with a few well placed jump attacks in a row or with high stagger ashes of war without getting caught but you can also easily abuse shield wall builds or fast status builds with good results. the latter are very safe since you can wait for the status buildup to cut down enemy hp while you run away. weapons with natural scarlet rot buildup are extremely good boss killers, especially when paired with a blood/poison or frost ash of war. personal recommendation: the antspur rapier, easily obtainable by cheesing a hostile npc in the altus plateau. rot and bleed spells are also extremely good, poison ones are usable but much less effective. personal recommendation: rotten breath, or ekzyke's decay, both obtainable early on if you are willing to put in the time, but to effectively use them you'd have to put points in mind. radagon and marika's seals and their upgraded versions can be used earlygame to boost your stats at a small cost in your durability to allow you to effectively equip weapons and armor and additionally boost your own damage. godrick's great rune is absolutely broken and will let you breeze through most encounters thanks to the sheer amount of free stat upgrades it provides as long as you don't die. unfortunately i don't remember how many of the items i listed are available early on in the game, but i believe most of their locations are easily accessible on the wiki.

      It's the easiest build to kill the superboss Malenia with little difficulty, and also most enemies and bosses.
      The poke playstyle is fast for bosses because you can quickly stack Bleed & Frostbite, and later combine them with high scaling pure damage from Arcane through Occult.
      Plus the spear weapons attack fast and since you basically spam attack uniterrupted without having to dodge, the damage builds up fast as well.

    Have you considered a trickster witch as a possible alternative to mystic theurge? With the right patron, can cover the necessary bases of a healer with your patron choice, and you get a full wizard spellbook on top of that, which makes you a pretty complete caster, without the issues of a split caster stat, and the horrible start mystic theurge gets.

      It could be something to consider indeed, since as you said, some Patrons can provide mass Divine spells.
      I didn't bother with them on this Lich Build as all the heals would kinda become useless as soon as you merged and started buffing allies with Blessing of Unlife.

      You can actually have everyone, Seelah is the only one who will leave but only at Chapter 5+ so pretty end game.

      For the Undead companions, Ciar & Delamere are the best early ones, while Kestoglyr is the best late one.

    Hey man great content as always, can I ask are you using Toybox to create your builds? if so how are you getting the full lich transformation?
    As simply increasing mythic level through toybox doesn't seem to to it.

    Thoughts on going Prepared Caster till level ~17 then respeccing into Spontaneous Caster? I know i couldn't make up my mind when going Angel on my first run and ended up following your guide with the Cleric route, then changing my mind at level 14 and respeccing into Oracle and i realized it's pretty powerful actually because i pretty much jumped over the part of the game where my power would've been at my lowest. Based on this guide i figured i'd start going normal Witch then respec into Leyline for more skill points or Stigmatized for more Charisma and HP as lich.

    Stigmatised witch does have a few advantages (maybe you mention them later) that I didnt hear covered. Firstly, late game, it will pay dividends to be a charisma based caster quite significantly, though far less so than when you benefitted from your own lord beyond the grave. Obviously, you will have way more health much higher fort saves. Also, you can take half elf for slightly higher DCs and spell slots than otherwise obtainable. Finally, assuming you are taking enduring spells given its a combined spellbook, the fact that you can cast your buffs, rest, and still have all your buffs active is far more powerful for a spontaneous caster than a prepared caster. Strictly speaking, a prepared caster can benefit from this too, but having to buff, rememorise your spellbook without those buffs, rest, and then remember to change the spellbook back again next time you want to buff is extremely inconvenient. A spontaneous caster doesnt have this issue, and can effectively use their buffs without using spell slots, so long as resting isnt significantly restricted.
    But no doubt, oracle curses dont even come close to some of the patrons in terms of overall benefit, and I do like to take favoured metamagic bolster on my liches, which is far less appealing with a spontaneous caster due to the increased cast time.

      My main issue is the spontaneous nerf to merged spellbooks.
      While you do still gain Mythic Spells fast which in the end are the ones that matter the most, for some classes I REALLY want my normal level 7-9 spells as soon as possible.
      And getting them at level 13 as opposed to level 18 is such a big difference! It's like 20 hours of playtime if not much more.
      And yes, for metamagic heavy characters I tend to prefer prepared as well, but in this case Sorcerous Reflex or some quicken rods can do the trick too.

      @@coot33 I think the reasoning was that spontaneous casting getting all their normal spell picks + mythic spells as soon as they reached the requisite level was overpowered. My angel oracle had around 10 9th level spells to choose from at level 15 and was able to cast them in any combination. The whole point of spontaneous casters is that they pay the price of a much more limited spell selection in order to have the flexibility to decide how to spend a given spell use on the fly. When you have more spells to choose from than a wizard even has spell slots, this downside is somewhat moot.

    i prefer spontaneous casters anytime of the day. there arent many spell that are useful in the game, so the main advantage of the prepared casters is diminished. for the spells that are useful to be able to decide on the fly which spell to cast is incredible, also more spell slots as a spontaneous caster. at later levels it doesnt matter that much the amount of spell slots but at the beggining it matters a lot.
    sad is the wizard who needed to cast resist energy for the third time in a day but only prepared it twice. a spontaneous caster dont need to worry about that.

    I wasn't aware of the spontaneous caster nerf. Does that mean that, for example, an Oracle Angel that merged the spellbook will not longer "get ahead" of the curve with their spells? I'm confused as to how merged books and the abundant casting line works after the changes. Just finished a run in Wrath so I didn't get to see the changes, and I'm starting a game in Kingmaker so it would be nice to know what's the differences for when I got back to Wrath.

      Hi there, it basically works like this
      1. Prepared Casters have Mythic Rank bonus to BOTH their Mythic + Normal Spell Progression.
      So a level 13 Wizard/4 Lich knows both lv9 Mythic Lich & Normal Wizard spells.
      2. Spontaenous Casters have Mythic Rank bonus to ONLY their Mythic Spells and Spells Slots, NOT their Normal Spell Progression.
      So a level 14 Oracle/4 Angel, has level 9 slots and knows ONLY Angel Spells as far as lv8 & 9 spells. His NORMAL Divine spells are only up to their Oracle class level, so 7th spells, which would then become 8th at 16 etc.
      What this means is this same 14 Oracle/4 Angel would be able to cast Wrath of the Righteous (lv9 Angel Spell) but wouldn't know Mass Heal, a lv9 normal Divine Spell.
      The end result is that prepared casters have access to the last NORMAL spells (8th & 9th mostly) much faster than spontaneous, but their Mythic Spell progression boost is the same.

This really hits spontaneous casters hard, because while mythic spells are powerful, I feel like having to "wait" for your standard spells to catch up won't be a good feeling. I'm playing some Kingmaker right now and I already miss my mythic powers, haha. Having to level up all the way before getting things like Frightful Aspect really makes the game more daunting.

      Specifically Ainz, Shalltear, Albedo, Demiurge, Cocytus, Aura and Mare, and possible the battle maids.
      I’m sure you’ve never seen this anime and doing the research may be too hard or time consuming.
      Now Ainz is easy and done, I could role play half of your Lich builds as Ainz, so I’m more interested in his minions. I would prefer them as mercenaries so I can roleplay the whole party. So really that’s what I’d be looking for. But I’m not gonna make you watch 4 seasons of anime and/or read 14 LNs for a build.
      So firstly; Are you familiar with the Overlord series?

    Are there any possibilities for Lich/Angel builds without a merge? I only see merged builds everywhere for these two. Yeah it is powerful but its like you have no other choices there anymore, and that's not true. Unfair is very hard and the merge makes it a breeze... mostly... but there are other things that work, too... except Aeon... they are... eh not that good 🤔
    Below i post my build that worked, just as inspiration for some1 who reads it :D Will not be detailed (no feats, no Mythic Path details, only classprogression with some cornerstone information's)
    For Example thematically a Riding Death Scythe-user would be awesome...
    Well my build was a Lich Build with dipping with 1 Rowdy -> 1 Mad Dog (just for the free selection of pets, so not needed - wanted to ride a black Smilodon so badly) -> 7 Urban Hunter -> 1 Loremaster (to get Greater Vital Strike at lvl 10 - without needing 16 BAB - at level 20 you have only 13) -> Urban Hunter (12 Urban Hunter unlocks +5 ft Range to all Melee Weapon Attacks - namely Lunge, 12 points in any Bloodrager (Serpentine Bloodline) would work also, but no pet or lower pet progression) -> 3 Points Gendarme (Bonus Feats + Pet progression) -> Vivisectionist -> Assassin
    (in my build I used Sylvian Sorcerer > Mad Dog, but i only noticed later i can not get Ascended Bloodline on my Bloodline and my Second Bloodline, what a bummer, therefor i think Mad Dog is better, or just take something else, its just a pick for the specific mount anyways, optimal would be if u leave it our for lvl 9 Greater Vital Strike)
    all around 7 Sneak Dice (Without Vital Sences) - 1 Book, 1 Rowdy, 1 Accomplished Sneak Attacker, 1 Tainted Sneak Attacker, 1 Assassin, 1 Vivisectionist, 1 Mythic Sneak Attack
    Greater Vital Strike (Went for Cleaving Finish line with AoE-Cleave Scythe, easy Group One-Shots)
    Some Upsides:
    mounted (at level 7, with horse at lvl 1)
    mostly thematic
    Coz of Rowdy it starts Powerful... if you hit
    Its a Pet Build, we all know how good pets are
    Trips everywhere (u get a Free Trip Feat, you can get Greater Trip and u can self buff with Aspect of the Wolf for the free Trip Action)
    With the +2 Cleave Scythe, you deal tons of AoE Damage, at lvl 15 with the Lunge unlocked, positioning is less important
    Some Downsides:
    Not the best Crit Range, only 19-20 with Improved Crit
    not full 10 Sneak Attack for maximum Rowdy-Vital Strikes
    VERY Feat Starved so some decisions have to be made (Cleave Line, Trips, Shatter Defenses, General melee Feats, mount-feats, Skill Focus: Arcana or World and Metamagic (I used Extend) for Loremaster)

      Well, there ARE possibilities.
      It's just that in the end, they don't really tend to be worth it compared to other choices.
      Trickster tends to be far better for most non merged non full caster builds.
      And for a full spellcaster, there really is nothing else comparable to the merge with the exception of Azata for Favorable/Zippy Magic and CC casters.
      Demon CAN achieve very high DC but it takes forever to get there compared to Azata Favorable Magic.

      I don't think so. Corrupt Magic from Lich should also work.
      I have tried it with Alchemist Dispelling Bombs and it worked too.
      I haven't tested it yet with Dispelling Attack from Rogue however.

      I prefer not to bother as Negative Eruption is the only Lich spell that really does negative energy damage, and most enemies do not have resistances besides Undead or let's say, Nabassus.
      For those you still have plenty of single target and also AoE untyped damage Lich spells.
      I think Deadly Magic can work too.

      He is a Skald, and in this case a mercenary, as Skalds really provide multiple party wide OP bonuses so I always run one!

      Yes, but unfortunately, the way Owlcat implemented the Vital Strikes feats is that you actually need them all to do full damage, so sadly you cannot bypass the earlier ones and go straight into Greater Vital Strike.

      If you mean where to respec, there is an NPC called Hilor that appears as soon as Chapter 1, inside the first tavern you start inside after leaving the Maze Dungeon. It's the same NPC where you can recruit mercenaries from.
      Some difficulties will block respec by default but you can change that in the difficulty tab.

    Bite attacks really shouldnt stack. I suspect it will get fixed sooner or later. Still a useful hex though.

      Yeah, I'm guessing EVENTUALLY they will stop it.
      But even then it's still good for most other characters, as in most melee party members, who won't have bite attacks outside of Skald Song. Pets without Bite too, especially now that Gore pets are also powerful.

    As one of those, who went through the game with mods, I'd say this video is obsolete. On unfair difficulty almost all these mechanics don't work, witch is support class, end of story. Safe throws of enemies are so high on unfair, that u can't Pierce it. Evil Eye almost useless for one round, it takes standard action to cast any hex - means spending whole turn on it. So it's not productive to play as hex caster, better to give that role to Camelia or Ember, Deiran

      Unfair is a different experience, and both damage & CC casters are in much tougher spot than let's say the usual prebuff + attack party, because it's way harder to increase spell power than melee, which only requires Outflank + critical range and most importantly + AB of which there are multiple sources.
      Doesn't help you can also ambush enemies via Charging out of battle in 95% of cases, to easily catch them all flat footed and for a free attack even on Unfair.
      Hexes for this build are mostly for the early game, usually Evil Eye for debuffing or Slumber for CC. Remember you can also ambush enemies with both, so you retain a second use right after battle starts.
      As far as the spells, the main reason I went Lich is because just like Angel, most of the good spells do not rely on saving throws at all for the most powerful effect: damage.
      Not to mention the merge also helps a lot too!

      @@cRPGBro yeah, sure! Try Slumber or Evil Eye on powerful foes like Vavakia for ex, if this role of your main hero - it's a waste of battle potential. All you described can work on Core difficulty tops. Enemies on Unfair have on higher levels AC - to 70, almost unreachable, Camelia has Battle hex, better than Evil Eye - there are no enemies immune to it, but it can be cast only once on the same enemy. Cackle can't help at all if u face more than two such enemies. Buffs and attacking spells are more usefull, which Lich can provide instead wasting turns on hexes, which I repeat, take standard action.
