- Life update! This is what I've been up to for the past two months that I didn't upload. I went to New York, LA, and North Dakota to cram 2 exams and clinical observerships. Now I'm back in Manila, fixing the remaining requirements for residency application this September.

Nakaka proud naman. My husband works here at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is also in the Doctorate CRNA program here through Mayo Clinic. It has been a dream of him to become a CRNA and proud to say 4 more months he will be done and finally get his Doctorate degree. Hard work pays off and all your hard work will definitely pay off. Good luck on everything and sana you get the Residency here in the US and God will grant you what your heart desires.🙏

I remember how my struggle was! I didn’t know any physician in the US that time but somehow I was able to find some people to help me. There will be so many exams but I tell you, the training is gonna be worth it! Good luck on your journey!
Good pm doc! May I know more about training in the US? I will take step 1 on December but in all honesty, I'm not 100% into this plan yet as I'm not totally passionate about medicine and I'm also having second thoughts about leaving my family and my comfort zone here in the Philippines. My dad told me to take this and since I have a US passport, I just passively rode with this plan.
PG24 I trained in anes. Make sure you have the right reasons why you are doing it. You are going to waste time, effort and money if you’re not whole-hearted in each step. You will get homesick, you will adjust to many things etc. The pros are you will really get good training, patients get “ideal” treatment, there is so much resource, humane duty hours.
@@patriciaamolenda4289 Thank you so much for your opinion, Doctor! I was really thinking about whether it was worth having 12-hour duties and the best training but at the cost of being away from family and doing everything else by myself. My dad always tells me to go all out on this USMLE plan since he says it is the best training, but I have always had my reservations. I was smart enough to pass med school without delays but I'm not exactly the high-achieving student type. Thank you again Doctor!

Congrats Dra.! I'm currently a 1st year medical student here in ph. May 4 shifting exam kami next week hahaha. Aside from 3 lab activities na kailangan ipasa din next week. Di ko alam kung pano nyo nagawa lahat pero sana magawa ko din. Congrats again and I'm really cheering you from here.

Hey, I took my USMLEs years ago. There are 4 exams- step 1, step 2 CK, step 2 CS and step 3 which is usually during residency. Start studying for step 1 while in Med School or after the boards. Good luck!

I really really wanted to pursue USMLE. I'm in my clerkship now. I know it can be very difficult especially if none of my family lives in the US. What advice can you give doc?
There is a web site for USMLE. I think you can apply while in the Philippines. I Google the website. Retired US physician from Philippines. It was ECFMG during our time. Just study hard, you can do it.
Study hard and pass the USMLE. High score in USMLE definitely get you a training position in USA or Europe. Speaking from personal experience.
As Vincent said score the highest scores for USMLE steps 1&2 and pass on first time.. PREPARE PREPARE PREPARE...GET EXCELLENT LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS AND GET US OBSERVERSHIP..

I'll be taking mine din 1 to 2 years from now pero nakalutang parin utak ko sa ERE. Hahah currently im on my PGIship po.. and i'll be taking my PLE sept 2020.
