New NEFF oven door removal

Door removal, new NEFF ovens
This is a simple procedure, the thing to remember is to push the door toward the oven.
On our one, the catches would not move unless this was done & they then moved freely.
The other thing is to lift it off in its rest position at 45°.
Our old oven had been starting to play up, so a new oven was purchased.
I suspect this is a new standard type hinge for the NEFF ovens & I would think all 2020 ovens are going to have this type of catch.
Not sure what was wrong with the old ones, they seemed robust and easy to remove.
The new oven is a U1ACE2HN0B/35, old U1661N1GB/09

Thank you so much, my manual does show diagrams of the new levers but no written instructions on how to release them so it’s next to useless 😂 I can now clean my oven door.

Yes, thank you! Really helpful. In exactly the same position, buying the new oven with the instruction manual showing the old style catches, which we were used to on the previous Neff oven. Get your act together Neff!

I agree, the instructions with the oven are poor. Like you I had an older model that was much easier to remove the doors and clean them. My new one (U2ACM7HN0B) has four pieces of glass and two of them are a nightmare to separate for cleaning.

Exactly how did you separate those 2 glass panes? I have a U2GCH7AN0B with a broken inner pane on the main oven. NEFF will supply a replacement for the inner pane (£105) but will not provide the instructions for completing the repair. The oven's outer 2 panels are relatively easy to separate. The inner 2 are clipped together in their frame and can move a mm or so relative to each other, but I don't want to force the clips unnecessarily to separate them from the frame. @@grahamtaylor2678 Hi Graham it was a while ago I did it but I recall those two inner panels were held together in a sort of sub-frame and I had to prise the clips open enough to release the retaining tags and work it all apart at the same time. Also making sure not to scratch the glass panels as that could seriously weaken them. I made sure as well to have plenty of towels to work and rest them on. It was very awkward and probably why there are no instructions. Not a job for the feint hearted.

@@jbebb6568 Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I was able to separate the 2 inner panels. After a lot of thought, I used 2 wide flat bladed screwdrivers to prise the metal strip outwards away from the glass. Starting at an end, 1 screwdriver blade was laid flat to protect the inner glass while the other was used as a lever against it with a slight twisting action & working along to gain about 5 mm clearance at one end, so that the inner glass panel could then be slid out. I left the 2nd panel in the frame to clean it. Why NEFF saw fit to close over the ends of the upper rail I don't know. If it was an open channel like the lower rail then there wouldn't have been a problem as it's too tight to slide out all by itself. In comparison, NEFF seem to have given some thought to slide & hide door as the videos show its quite easy to dis-assemble. Anyway, all fixed now.
