Great content Terry!!! Quick question, For this to work, I assume the Mesh APs need to have installed the unleashed firmware or they need to have the Solo Access Point firmware?
Hoping you can help! I set up two r510 APs. One is upstairs connecting to a ruckus switch and that is the master and is working fine. The r510 downstairs I’m setting up as a mesh and did the No touch mesh. When it’s cycling on, the pwr light goes solid green, ctl light flashes green fast then the pwr light turns red after a bit. Any advice?
So what if you configured 10 at the same time and they all out there, months down the line you want to add another do you need to take the master down and put it on the same switch to see the new one?
Your root node is going to be wired anyway so just plug the new AP into that same network until it configures and then move it... or search for Zero Touch Mesh.
@@TerryHenry hi terry i've been trying that but it doesn't work. i see the configure me ssid stay and if i connect to it it's like setting up a master. It's my first time using these i'm use to ubiqiti.
@@TerryHenry one last thing, it has a 0.1 ip my network is 9.X , do i change it ip and if so how without going through the whole master setup. thinking thats why it can't be seen.

Try upgrading the firmware on the new one to the same version as the master. If that doesnt work then it cannot see the master on the network.
@@TerryHenry Thanks

Does the 2.4ghz network also have to be on the same channel?
Whatever band you choose to mesh on 2.4 or 5 will need to be on the same channel. The other band can be on any channel you want.
Ruckus model mesh?
Is the MAP a wireless repeater mode?
how do you mean?
