Chrissie’s 5th US Open!! The final was a 3 set win over Hana Mandlikova but the match of the tournament was in the Semifinal against young up and coming Tracy Austin, who had beaten her in the previous 5 matches. That forced Chrissie to play outside the box, taking more chances, being more aggressive and mixing up her game with drops shots and coming the net. The strategy paid off and from that point on Chrissie never lost to Austin again.
