I watched your parade and felt so connected you….your honesty and happy spirit really resonated with me. Wow your finishes are AMAZING!! Your so great at finishing your pieces I love it! Thank you for sharing your stitching journey on UA-cam I am learning the lingo and your completed projects and is it whips?🧐 are so beautiful! Im not sure how to begin my 1st full cross-stitch project but I think after watching you I feel more confident. Christine! Thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate you saying that and I'm glad that you felt a good vibe as you watched :) WIPs is an acronym for Works In Progress, or something you're continuing to stitch on that is not finished. You'll hear that term a lot! For your first project, I would consider finding a kit. That should include everything you need (fabric, threads, a needle, the pattern, and possibility even a hoop, though you may need to buy that separately). I would suggest simply finding a small kit at a store like Michael's or JoAnn's to make sure you love it. From there - sky is the limit! Once you get your first project underway, I'm sure you'll start to feel more confident and will have fun exploring the different tools and supplies. As for good "beginner friendly" content, I would really just go to any flosstuber that you find interesting and go back to their first videos. Likely they'll tell you about how they got started and any tips and tricks they learned along the way. Have fun exploring and I hope you'll keep watching as I post more videos in the future. I am so happy to find you on FlossTube. 😊 I live in Massachusetts and have been a cross stitcher since the late 80’s. I worked in a local cross stitch shop and the owner taught me all about custom framing which has served me well over the years.
I am currently stitching on the Temperature Tree which will be a year long piece stitching on a small leaf everyday for 365 days. The pattern is on Etsy by Stitchin’ Mommy. I, too, love Satsuma Street. I have stitched a few of her pieces including the Alice in Wonderland piece and Dog Park.
You inspired me to purchase a chart from Carolyn Manning, who I had not discovered and this week The Black Needle Society. Such Fun!!! 🪡 keep up the great videos.

Sapphire Mountain Handcrafts just released one this year that I may not be able to resist... If you haven't already, for Friends and Family record all the initials, who they are and why they are special to you. Once you have it framed, put a small envelope on the back of the piece to hold that information. You'll appreciate that years down the road and so will the ancestors who inherit it one day! You have some awesome finishes!

Wow Atlantic Canada my part of Nova Scotia has just enough to say we have some, still see grass. That’s no weekend project! Great job. Handwork maniac did her wip parade and is doing those. Omg my grandson loves dinosaurs! Love the colour you did for linen and threads sal. I looked at the new one but have 2 haeds to do as well. I like the words pumpkin patch..

I am doing Shores of Hawk Run and might do Autumn next. I wish I would have purchased the Gilmore Girl boxes. I am a huge fan and it is an annual thing for me as well to rewatch them. I loved your wip parade and this one too. I went to Fox and Rabbit and bought the pattern for the Quaker Sampler based on seeing yours. I am just starting my Cross Stitch Journey but I will keep that pattern for a bit inspiration.

Great finishes! You’ve really done a lot of pieces in your short time stitching. I’m also a big Blue Flower fan, just love all her flower designs. I’m stitching Strawberry Bird currently. I love the colors of Satsuma Street. I am stitching the 12 days of Christmas by them now. And also wanted to mention ink circles, huge fan! Happy stitching!

I love your finishes!! My question is (before I start too many WIPs) - when you fold your aida or evenweave or linen and store them, how do you remove the folds and creases at the very end?! I'm worried if I start some things and fold them, I won't get creases out. Thanks!!
Thanks for your comment, Holly! Glad you enjoyed the video. I haven't had too much trouble getting creases out when I use a hot iron on them! I do try to be intentional if I can and limit how many folds I put in the actual stitching, but with big pieces that's difficult to avoid. I know that some people prefer to roll their big projects and store them in tubes. Take care!
