Hi mate, if you are worried about paying 40% tax, you can make a pension contribution which the government automatically add 20% to and you can reclaim the additional 20% through your self assessment tax return. I am a financial adviser btw.
This was something I had no idea about, only found out through a friend at work telling me recently. All I had to do was call HMRC and they sorted it, got back a fair chunk!
Crazy it’s not done automatically..
By time he's paid his hire n reward insurance is paid, that's halved the money straight away.... fk ya 40% gov.. and finding these things out screwing the lil man trying to make abit of something for himself is just so wrong and especially you go to prison if ypu don't pay so it's extortion either way.. we are all shafted and won't be able to afford to live soon enough and I'm already sick of bosses and the big peeps having control of our lives that they don't care about in their hands!!
Maybe you know but if you actually go into that 40% tax bracket, you only actually pay tax on the additional income over the limit, so say the limit is 51k and you earn 55k you'll only pay tax on the 4k extra you earn, it's a pretty big misconception here in the UK that it's 40%/50% of the whole salary when its just the additional over the bracket :)
That’s just how progressive tax systems work in general, not unique to the UK
Anything you earn over £12.4k is taxed by 21%
So £12.4k over the 12 months, will not be taxed.
@@MrBinkz correct but people don't always understand and they think that they will be taxed on the full amount
@@nathantilly3539 yeah I’m well aware mate, see it all the time in my job haha. Good to bring awareness of it to the masses
It's surprising how many people don't know this
18:06 in Germany you also have what you call tax brackets but in your example you would pay for the first 12,750 0% for the 12,751 - 50,270 20% and for the 50,271 - 125,140 40% so in other words its payed in levels if that makes sense. if you'd cross the 50,270 mark you wouldn't pay 40% taxes on all your income, just for every pound you made above 50,270. Isn't that the case in the uk?
just checked it's the same in uk so don't worry if you earn more than 50,270 my guy just keep grinding
It's criminal that this episode isn't sponsored by Screwfix 🤣 I think I prefer these delivery videos to the food delivery ones tbf
I know right! They need to reach out to me and make it happen!!
@@LondonEats bro just hit up their marketing team and ask them. they'll do it
@@LondonEats I work for Screwfix and randomly happened on this video. I can ask around and see who the go to people are for this.
@@Insan3 Ah a fellow worker for kingfisher
Lost it at "The theme tune to London: Sirens!" 🤣 Well done!
Hey dude. Perhaps you know this but if you go into the higher tax bracket, you'll only pay the higher rate of tax on anything you earn over the £50k. £0 to £49999.99 will still be taxed at 20%.
So although you'll pay higher tax on any earnings past £50k, you won't lose money on your total earnings by earning more than £50k. 👍🏻💰
Can't believe that people will refuse to earn more than 50k because they don't know how tax works
Yeah, I was thinking it would be an extremely stupid system if you suddenly got taxed 40% instead of 20% as soon as you moved up the bracket. That way people earning 49k would earn more than people earning 50k-65k
yeah but still, who wants to pay almost half your earnings in tax even if its after 50k @@AndreasNeofytou
You will lose more on your total earnings.. anything over 50k is taxed at 40% that's more than 20% come on stop making it sound better than it is.
@@kieranhudson4938 you having a laugh!?
Love the gophr shift, I always make the same comment. You were in a fun mood also, so that was cool to watch.
Made me chuckle when you were behind the refuse lorry, as a refuse collector it’s lovely walking behind one (especially in the summer) 😂
Love these different delivery videos better than the food deliveries! Love the content 💯
“Don’t know where he was looking!” I can take a good guess on where the van drivers head was planted haha
Love your page mate. Came across it one day a month ago and been watching your page since. Hopefully I’ll get to visit London and Brighton for the first time next year 🙂
Keep your head on a swivel when out on the roads mate.
Cheers from Texas!
Get a magnetic connection charger for your phone mate. It's faster and doesn't damage the socket being connected so many times. Non expensive as well
12:47 - we see you pulling that push door 😉
I love the ScrewFix and parcel episodes so much. It seems to go a lot faster for you and far less problems than with food deliveries
You can get thermal weather and weather resistant gloves from screw fix keep your hands worm in the minuses 👌
A new upload, perfect way to end the weekend. 🎉Love your content, thanks for all the great videos.
You should do a video where you do gopher during the day and then food deliveries in the evening/night and see how much you make!
As much as it may be an extremely convenient method of earning money, you need to take into account that, behind the camera; is a human being.... and not a machine/robot that does not get tired/fatigued.
@@originalunoriginal4055true, but there is 24h vids about 🤷♂️
14:54 damm that was close
Is that latch on your box really good? Man id be so paranoid about it opening up.
nice one mate .nothing better than a london eats vid on a sunday evening :)
Liking the in-bag camera shots! Stay warm out there!
Nice video, truly entertaining. It’s really funny that you almost always drives 23-26 mph on the 20 mph roads, just out of stubbornness 😅👍
Been watching for a while now. Still loving the content. Thank you for the content, appreciate it.
Dunno why, but I like seeing the collections & deliveries from trade places like Screwfix aha.
I just started doing an electrical installations course at college - on my way to being a female sparky 😆🤪
Love from India 🇮🇳 you make my days better after long day of work and feeling alone thanks brother ❤️🙂👋
I have a question about them no entry roads, Would it not be plausible and legal to jump off your bike and push it past the junction that way you didnt ride in to the area you walked and then ride the rest of the way. May seem a silly question but thats how this weird brain of mine works lmao. Hey love the vids your doing a wonderful job. 😃
hello from Thailand bro, I like when you roaming around random area in your country. I love to see the scenery
14:37 "do we not know how roundabouts work?" while going the wrong way around a roundabout :D
“Come on people, do we not know how roundabouts work?” As you go the opposite way round it 😂
I spotted that!

I remember back during Covid, I would get orders for Superdrug. I used to love doing those. Any time I can deliver something that isn't food I love it.
Glad to see the blanket showing an appearance. It's definitely a big change to the Indian Summer we had just 😅
Remember though. Over the 50k threshold is taxed at 40%. Nothing under the 50k. Taxes are taxes but you get an extra 60 quid every 10 you earn over 50k. Not bad really. Get you closer to financial freedom 😊😊
They're pricy depending on how long you're out and about the sealskins heated gloves might be right up your street. £160 ish. 6 hours of life on the lowest setting, but the gloves are so warm themselves you won't need the heating on until it drops below like 3 or 4C
irony of 14:36 you going the wrong way around that mini roundabout, to then say 'do we not know how roundabouts work' ahhaha
A big box of screws is basically like a chunk of metal. Put it on your shoulder instead of carrying it in front of yourself. And take spare bags with you 👍🏻
No reason to purposely stay under £50k, you only pay 40% on money over the £50k. So if you earn £50,010 then you only pay 40% on that £10
yeah but still your paying almost half amount in tax on your earnings
Then your limiting yourself to never earning more than 50k ......
@@GullysGarageGym then your paying 40% tax to this corrupt nazi supporting government.
Unfortunatley our man doesnt seem to know how tax brackets work. He is falling into the common misconception trap that alot of people do where they think the ENTIRE earnings will be taxed higher just becuase they earned $1 in the 40% bracket.
In easy terms... everything you had before 50k stays the same even if you go over 50k. Its the money above 50k that gets 40% tax.
Say you earn 60k
10k gets 40% taxed the rest gets taxed the same way as before
I love this job better than a food delivery make u more busy
Absoloule admire what you do. I’m all on walking round London. Take care and keep doing the videos mate. Love em
They should link the orders to the driver instead of the store where possible, so you can just go to one store and get all the orders and then drop it off to the customers
was gonna sign up but the onboarding looked a pain in the ass
Can't imagine this service taking off in Australia. Here, tradies are going to jump in the ute, grab what they need at Bunnings and grab and snag on the way out.
In London they wouldn’t want to lose their parking space near the jobsite and a short journey can easily take 30 mins in traffic.
Is it first come first serve on that app??
I'm thinking of doing my CBT and getting into deliveries like your self.. where would you recommend buying a Moped? I don't know if I should go Electric or Petrol as I am on the meter and don't want to kill off my electric!
I worked in logistics for a utility a long while back on a scheme where deliveries were made to job sites instead of the engineers coming back to the depot. Worked really well.
2:10 the amount of times navigation has almost screwed me up like that too smh 😑
Nice episode :) I'm a biker and I have the Gerbing heated gloves which run off rechargeable batteries. They are game changers and are highly recommended :)
dont be worried about the 40% tax the only money that gets taxed is the money you make over 50k
You should be worried 40% of any of your income sucks.
Good runs. Nice the way you get it done. I like your style.
Yo! Screwfix just went live this week with site deliveries in London (only).
Looks like it's gonna fly!
Cool Video. I can imagine you have a load of expenses for utilities, insurance, phone, internet, workwear, vehicle etc that you can offset in your self assessment, so your tax should be low anyway in my opinion👊🏻
Wish we had a Screwfix equivalent in Qld. Plumbers and electricians can get pretty quick deliveries. But as a Carpenter Builder, fat chance. Electricians can get order morning. Delivered afternoon. And order afternoon, next morning. All free. Plumbers can get within two hours. For a nominal sum. Builders. Sometime whenever for a vast sum. There are couriers that run around. But they are not the sort like you guys. They are all in vans. They go from place to place picking up. Take it back to a depot. And then at some point they may eventually bring it out to your area. In my case they won't even come to my location. They drop off to the nearest Post Office. Some 7K away. If I need certain items quickly for a job, it is go for a drive. Three hours later and I might be back at the job. Different world.
Hi from Florida. I just subscribed and really enjoy your videos! Don’t think we have electric scooters in the U.S.
LoL when I first heard you say .. hello peeps I hope you are all going well I though you said .. hello peeps I hope you're ordering well!.. 😁
I couldn't find a link on your website to your equipment list, as you mentioned in this video. Am I doing something wrong? Love your content. Keep up the good work.
Just imagine if NIU offered heated seats and grips 😮. Perfect winter eMoped. 🛵
I really enjoy your gophr delivery vids more than the food ones. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those too but this seems more enjoyable lol
dude like the content watching you all the way from ethiopia keep it up
I like your gopher delivery videos because I find them interesting to watch
bruv im gonna show my guvnor that app and see if we can get it set up, looks like a real time saver 👍
Ain't nothin' gonna to break my stride
Nobody gonna slow me down, oh no
I got to keep on moving
Reminds me of the advert.
Can I just get an unedited video of me inside the storage box on the bike? Felt cozy in there.
You only pay 40% tax on the money you make after 50k bro. So everything under 50k is still 20%.
Still sucks.. 40% is shocking.
thought we'd see you with a ton bag of sharp sand on your back given the title 🤣
Hello London Eats
OMG that van was a kamakazi... you wondered what the heck he was looking at... anywhere but at you for sure...
Here is the same... You have to have edited you comments well... Abit trust me... I'd say the same thing to that dork!!
The London theme song is also here in my l berg just outside DC
I live between 2 fire houses... 2 blocks from one of them... 24/7...
I keep saying... can't our citizens go home and get the heck off the streets... we have a real problem with some who think our Blvd is the Indy 500!
Be careful dear heart... and be safe in your travels...
Best wishes

If you think 20mph on that road is rough, here in Wales is bloody everywhere now
Nice box! Where did you get that from?
nice to see riders earning a decent rate, i guess food delivery struggles to justify 7 or 10 quid
In one of your videos could you add a timer for the amount of down time you have I a shift. I just wondering how long it is between the orders.
2:12 one time my bike broke down so i pushed my bike on the pavement through one of those signs and I got fined lol I even appealed saying my bike broke down I was just pushing it home and they said it's still illegal lol 😆
Not a fan of screwfix or cef, prefer to use local independent wholesalers personally, always find I get better service, price and they can always get it if they don’t have it when the big chains don’t want to bother.
Nice Job👍
I work at Screwfix and the sprint cost £5 delivery charge due to it being within the hour. Great videos as always fella
Does Screwfix take the delivery fee or does the total £5 fee go to the delivery driver member?
Doesn't Screwfix have a delivery option of it's own?
@@originalunoriginal4055 for next day delivery it's £5/£10. Sprint delivery charge is a part of the order when you make it. Not sure what the delivery company give as a percent
Loving the vids recently!
How many miles done ? It would be a worthwhile fact to add to your vids.
Here I thought he be delivering 2x4s and such lol. Does UK have lumber yards? that sell building things like home depot does, 2x4s, sheet rock, bricks, fences and stuff..big stufff anyway.
Cef was the go to when I was a 16 year old sparky 26 years ago😂 nothing changes ey
Love your videos
14:38 says people don’t know how to use roundabouts work then cuts the roundabout completely lol
Get some thin gloves to go under those gloves, I have the same gloves and do that and hardly have my heated grips on.
Screwfix sticker on the bike box ? Yeeaaah 😎
Next time if they have a bunch of tiny boxes, just ask if they have a small cardboard box or something.
So interesting to see how Screwfix fulfil their sprint promise of within 60 minutes 🤔 when they first introduced it I thought they had their own drivers lmao
Great Video, I think the clues in the name,Screwfix!
I knew the missing word was van before I could even see it on my screen. It said "hit by a..."
You def got screwed on this shift😂
Dont forget NI contributions drop if you pay higher rate rax.
If you're in "normal" tax you pay 20% above the nil threshold plus 12% NI contribution so 32% total.
Higher rate you pay 40% on earnings within the higher rate band but your NI contributions drop to 2% so 42% in total.
So yes you're paying more but its not as much as it first looks and you can offset it by paying more into a workplace pension and declaring it on your tax return. This is what I do - I earn approx £62k pa but I also pay around 12k of that into my pension which brings me back out of the higher rate band. If i earn more I increase my pension contributions to counter it.
14:14
"Why are people ordering so many screws?"
Why-why, for screwing!
Maybe you're delivering to a --Hub filming site.
one where the plumber actually fixes the sink?
@@cornishcat11 Oh yeah, just like that! xD

I just love this show. Genevieve Antwerp
Isnt it just the amount over the limit of the lower tax bracket that gets taxed higher, like in most other countries? Or does your entire earnings get taxed at 40% if you hit the cap? Not familiar with UK tax laws so genuinely curious.
you are correct.
Yeah you are correct. everything between 12.5k - 50k is taxed at 20% then as an example say if you earn 5k over 50k (so say 55k total) that 5k is taxed 40% but 12-50k is 20% still.
'Come on people, do we not know how roundabouts work' he says, while going the wrong way around the roundabout :P
You made more in the first hour than I did in 3 hours yesterday 😂
As someone who is just starting out food deliveries as a side hustle, what advise can you give me? (Keep up the awesome content)
i need a leg cover where i can buy it duvet?? please let us know if they have it for honda pcx 2021😊

What bike do you use for your deliveries???
Seems like you can make a lot more on an E mobed
Ordering screws from from Screwfix sound about right.
I really enjoyed these videos more than the food ones. thank you for sharing ^-^
crazy how high the taxes are. 40% is mental
He could've literally just taped the screw boxes together
I carry some tape now to avoid that nightmare again haha
