In the 3rd Omen movie Damien is defeated by the second coming of Christ who's basically a spirit.....now if they could retcon the way they did it and the second Christ could be Damien's twin sister instead and Margaret becomes like a Dark Holy Mother figure that would be so much more interesting
In the original movie. The mother was a Jackal. Which they changed. But it makes sense in the 70s most people had no clue what Jackals really looked like. It just sounded cool.
Margaret's possession scene is a direct homage to the subway scene in the film "Possession" from 1981 and while it doesn't quite match its energy (nothing could tbf), it's a really thoughtful and amazing thing to draw inspiration from.

Your reaction is exactly what was aimed for; rollercoaster of wtf misdirects up until the end! Loved every second of it. This movie is definitely in my top horror films and will be a must watch every Halloween season moving forward.
This movie was actually better than I expected. Usually you hear sequel/reboot/ prequel and it's like "Oh great" in the most unenthusiastic way. Hoping with the resurgence in like the religious horror movies people will also find some others like The Rite with Anthony Hopkins, The Possession Experiment (it's not amazing but it is funny in a mess around find out type of way) and The Vatican Tapes with Michael Pena, Olivia Taylor Dudley and Djimon Hounsou.
Considering the ret cons in this movie, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a set up to reimagine the omen franchise. And usually I would be opposed to a remake of the omen, but this movie was SO good, I could see it working 👀

Love you reactions as always! ❤ I loved this movie so much! I knew this was a prequel so luckily I was able to watch The Omen beforehand and even though I knew what’s to come yet I still got chills towards the end! Also we don’t talk about THAT birth scene…I’m still traumatized 🫠💀
I’m happy i watched your reaction. I couldn’t finish the movie or other reactions because the movie was very uncomfortable to watch. I also thought that Margate got killed when she attempted to kill Damien, which made me not want to finish the movie. So I’m happy that I watched and finished this commentary, now i can try and rewatch the movie.
I thought this film was shot so beautifully.... actually went to see it and really enjoyed it despite the inconsistencies with the 1st film. But the omen was one of the 1st horror movies i saw in the early 80s
Immaculate 2: Electric Boogaloo, haha Also, this movie is a fairly good prequel. The original is amazing. Still...the similarities to Immaculate, I can't help it That jumpscare at 8:30 sent me in the theater
One of the best horror prequels ever this movie truly surprised me on how amazing It was. The lead was great like seriously. I thought I was gonna hate this movie but I came out loving it. The way it ties in so well with the original is so good. The pregnant woman scene made my mouth drop and I screamed when the C section happened on screen. Was genuinely disturbed by this movie. My only issues with the movie is the first act is pretty slow and the fact the reveal was so obvious that they try to play it off as this major reveal.
that movie is insane!!! did u know the actress suffered a mental breakdown cuz the director pushed her so far mentally and emotionally to do those scenes... she entered a mental hospital...i saw an interview where all he did was talk shit about her and her recent plastic surgery....her acting was very intense and awesome in that
The main character in Omen IV: The Awakening is a girl, but I don't remember if she's Damien's sister 🤔🤔🤔 Also, I think this is the best one since the original.
I need a compilation of all the reactors reacting to THAT scene 🤣. Sooo I had to eat my words on your last video when I said I’m not a fan of religious horror. I really enjoyed this film. I didn't expect to but I did. I like the fact that when most people hear that a new omen film is coming out, like me, most were probably rolling their eyes saying here we go again, but having dedicated a day where I mostly was sitting in my recliner, with a packet of dorritos in one arm, a chocolate milkshake on the table, and a television remote in the other I was pleasantly surprised. The main device or argument for not-liking a prequel is well I know the ending so where is the suspense, but here it was really suspenseful. I was happy spoilers that the main character survived and that there was a sister that was being kept hidden from her brother. Also even though this might so counterintuitive to someone working in the church to undertake this task of taking the spawn of the devil or antichrist just so people could believe again is actually quite a clever and somewhat twistedly brilliant motive, like it was all just a ploy to make people believe in God even though a good many people involved had a whoopsy frankenstein moment and thought what have we done after the events of this film. But in all seriousness I like the fact that this twist kind of recontextualises everything from the previous films kind of like what Joker did to the Batman mythos Great review Nick, laughing like mad, and really improved my mood, when I was trying to keep myself from choking on my cup of tea 👍😊
While I was watching this and the spiders kept happening for no apparaent reason, I could not wait to see you reaction, Nick! lol. I just kept thinking, "Nick is going to f*ckin' lose his mind!".
It was really fun seeing you clock the fact that Margaret was the one we should have been watching instead of Carlitta. As for some of your questions: Nuns are often referred to as "Brides of Christ" and they used to be given a wedding ring to represent their marriage to the church/Jesus IIRC. So I assume that's the reason for the "wedding dress". A woman's hair used to represent their power and femineity and beauty, so I assume that's why they cut it off? ( nowadays nuns can just put it up in a bun if they want to I believe) not every order requires you to cut your hair. The demon Jackal is heavily implied to be the form Satan takes when he comes to uh rape the nun's and the church's plan was to birth the anti christ so that he could unleash his evil on the world, and the church thought that would lead to people coming back to Jesus through fear. (I have watched this film too many times) The other lady with the demon hand...coming out of her is either Margaret having a hallucination or a baby Jackal demon. So......yeah Fun fact: The woman at the beginning at the film is actually *Margaret's* mother. So when Satan is raping Margaret, he's raping his daughter. (The woman at the beginning of the film is also the creepy old nun)

Yeahhhh after watching this, I was Googling and realized they retconned several things, including that.
They didn't change it, the mother of the antichrist is a daughter of Satan. That's what it's referring too.
Except it doesn't. A jackal is a jackal- a dog. So how does a human women turn into a female jackal overnight?
@@helioske I meant that Jackals are small animals that could never carry a human baby to term.
