    That report is an honest evaluation of the Versa. We also own a 2019 Nissan Maxima SL. We love the Versa 2020 that we bought for simple around the city driving. We miss nothing in our Versa with all the sensors and safety features for senior drivers. Nissan certainly has a winner on its hands. BTW, I'm 80. We use the Max for the road and longer trips. Intelligent Cruise is a must. We call our Versa a baby Max. We did rent a Versa Note several years ago. Nissan has come a way with design.

    Nice review, I just bought the blue SV about 5 weeks ago. Slightly different package though. I did not get the door sills, under lighting nor trunk spoiler. I did not get the raised center console part so it does seem a bit more roomy, also without that there are 2 more USB charge only ports on the top of the center console near the rear as well as the two on the back of the console for rear seat peeps. Making a total of 5 USB ports in the car. My drivers seat does have a folding full length arm rest from the right side. no power seats but it does have tire pressure monitoring. At the pump app $25 to $27 will fill it up which will get you about a 400 mile range just in the city. I am thinking it has a 12.5 gallon tank. I have only had it on interstate for about 25 miles, so at 105mph the car is absolutely stable and smooth! Did not try to push it any further but had no problems at all getting there. I do think the car will do the 140mph on the Speedo unless there is a governor somewhere after 105mph. In the city 33 to 34 seems to be the average. Tech specs shows 122HP and 118TQ so def not a sports car but unlike my last car, this one will outrun a mail truck. Sound system, if your really into music, your probably going to change it. I know I am. Mine has the Halogen projector headlamps. Not as bright as LED. And if your just sitting with them on, when you hit the gas they will brighten up just a little. I feel the car could really use the driving lights like the SR has. There are only 2 gripes I have about the car. One, at night if the rear parking sensor sees a decent sized wet spot on the ground, it WILL STOP you from backing over it. And two, there is a 10 min timer that will shut all power down if your just sitting with the engine off chilling to some tunes. You have to hit the start button to restart timer with foot off brake. And it does not warn you it is about to go off either. No where in settings menu to change that. Bought mine with 2 miles on it, paid $20,078 and I like it! Got 2700 miles on it now.

      Can you hear the engine at 105? Also after all these years I don't get why you still can't adjust the timer after turning your car off, but if I ever buy a Versa it'll be a 2020, what you get for $17K is amazing. That or an older Maxima, but I don't know about their CVTs.

    Have the same red Nissan Versa- Nissan Almera here in the Malaysia, South East Asia, I have the VLT (top of the spec), 1.0litre Turbocharged, 100PS with 152Torque, $21.4k on the road price
    Turbo kicks in at 2.4k RPM and it just breezes something of 50mph to 90mph with minor turbo lag but its a fun one to drive and it sips fuel when needed, 42mpg (18km/l)for city and 51mpg(22km/l) for the highway.
    - for the boot there is something like you suggested,a button to press hidden at the boot handle
    - the 360 camera comes in clutch all the time, the markers in the software makes it convenient to just rely on it to park
    - interiors are leather over here, the front zero gravity seats do my lumbar some good for long drives
    - apple carplay, underrated feature, just plug and play
    - automatic climate control
    - unfortunately there's no intelligent cruise control, only standard cruise control but you can control the speed with the up down button like some old computer game
    - one cool thing is that we have the boomerang shaped LED as its daytime running light

    Put good CVT's in the cars or put a manual in it. I'm not sure why they keep putting Jatco CVT Transmissions in them. The CVT's in Toyota Prius' go hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles.

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 4 роки тому +9

      CVT in a hybrid is completely different from a CVT in a traditional engine set up though. Nissan is the only company that has issues with the JATCO CVT7. Mitsubishi and Suzuki also utilize the same CVT7 with a way lower % of premature CVT failure. Nissan Xtronic ECU/CVT programming is flawed and paired up with over powered vehicles. The Mitsubishi Mirage INVES III CVT programming has alot less issues considering its torque is only 78. High torque is a CVT killer.

      In the past I would have agreed, but nowadays almost everyone is doing CVTs. Nissan was really the first to really delve into CVTs, and, like any new car technology, they got bit in the butt at first over reliability issues. Now, though, their newest generation of cvts really are excellent and have thus far proven to be reliable. I guess what I'm saying is that if you're going to be forced to go with a cvt, might as well go with a Nissan since they've been doing it the longest and have arguably the most refined cvt on the market. There was a day in age when automatic transmissions were considered unreliable, as well as turbocharges, now both of these technologies have come a long way, the same goes for the CVT. Most of the problems you hear about CVTs are either from older cars or from people who did not properly maintain their cvts.

    • @Montana270
      @Montana270 4 роки тому +1

      @@dave3682 Thanks for the response. I would have to agree with you. CVTs now within the last few years seem to be quite good. Main thing for me is they just feel weird to drive. Kinda like driving an automatic where the torque converter is slipping all the time.

      @@dave3682 I agree with what you said. I own a 2012 Versa Hatch with well over 105,000 miles and it's still running well. I do keep up on the maintenance which I feel is key to any car if you plan to own it long term. Still, with all the talk of CVT's being unreliable I do have moments where I wonder if my little Versa will one day decide it's time to crap out despite me keeping up on the maintenance.
      Till that day comes, if it does, I will continue to adore my little Versa. I feel that the next car I get into though will be a Toyota, despite their higher price tag I feel I'll be driving something more reliable.

    • @dave3682
      @dave3682 3 роки тому +1

      @@NightOwl2022 The money you will save by buying just about any other brand can be used to cover any reliability issues that they have. Toyotas are not worth their insane prices, especially used Toyotas.

      Actually Nissan did us a real big favor there. You see if you put a steering wheel cover on, it creates a small hiding spot there for things that should not be found...right in plain sight and no one would ever know it. With the exception of a Police dog. Snif Snif.
