Every time you put up a new hair tutorial, it's a happy day for me:) Thanks!
i really like your videos because they're short and sweet and show how to do hairstyles quickly :) thank you!
we used to do this all the time for ballet its an awesome quick trick im glad you shared it with everyone;)
I did this with an old pair of tights...works just as well. Thank you for the tip!
i am amazed at how simple this is.....going to try this out!
@belieber4evrnalways Ya I uploaded this video without watching the final product...WMM tend to cut off my titles O_o Oh wells...it's too late now lol =p
Aha! Finally, an updo I can do! We call it a sock bun in Australia, but chignon sounds a tiny bit more sophisticated. Just so you know, I have dark brown hair and get away with using a white sock (maybe it's because I have waist length hair, it really covers the sock quite well! I must try pinning the bun, though - I use hair ties/scrunchies doing my sock bun as opposed to pins, and it stays in for about 8 hours. Thankyou for yet another simple, cute hairstyle and have a great day!
Cute, good idea especially for summertime...
@TheCoconutpenguin Thanks for the support!
Oh my gosh thank you! It turned out so pretty! And made me thin fine hair look nice and thick!
So perfect! Thank you for this tutorial-especially the sock tip!! My hair is very similar to yours, and I am so glad that you posted a video on how to make a chignon/bun like this! :)

@KoreanFunStyle Aw thanks, you're too kind! =]
@7nochannel Haha I'm not sure...it's call Modern Jazz Samba by Kevin Macleod =)
@pwincessnishaloveme I'm so glad! Thanks!
i love this tutorial :)) I prefer your method to make a bun, than the method to tease hair..
teasing will make may hair be frizz.. X(
thanks yaya for share this great tutorial ^^
"You can have it high or low; wherever you want your chignon to be."
noun: chignon: a roll or knot of hair at the nape of the neck.
@winxclub710 You just have to cut the closed end of a sock off (so you end up with a leg warmer basically) and then start at one end of the sock and roll it up until it gets the donut/scrunchie shape. I think its the sorta thing that you will understand more as you do it, 'cause the sock will usually naturally roll up that way for you as you go. :)
@fayethailand Oh thank you!! :D
Beautiful! I didn't realize you can just use a sock! When's the other tutorial going to be up?
@kcuanny Oh really? I'll have to try that too hehe
whoa!! sock donuts :)))
nice tutorial! i really liked your nail colour ... what colour is it? :)
this was really quick, yay!
@TheycallmeGeli Heehee I know...it happens with WMM sometimes arrg I didn't check the vid before uploading. Oh wells...too late now lol
Wow I really like this. I asked a lady once how she did her hair like that and she says she rolls it up 0.o i'm pretty sure she used a sock too. maybe she used that clamp thing that you bend into a circle
@YaYaLifestyle yeah, except i used a chunky-ish scrunchie. not the regular thin ones lol
if you have fine hair like me, the sock can show. I prefer to use a fake hair elastic instead, doing the same method you did. It also gives more volume to the chignon ;)
@twix0rz Try using a fake hair scrunchie instead...someone said it works really well for her thin hair =]
@clarajenproductions Unless your hair is extremely thin, you should be fine even if your hair is only medium length =)
@cheerobsessedx0 Someone said she used a scrunchie and it worked, so ya give it a try :D
@danaaaaaax Dunno if you saw it cuz I posted it late last night...it's Big Sexy VS Hair =)
i love sock doughnuts :)
@ninataubes Try it and you'll see =)
1st Viewer! Number One Baby! I love YaYaLifestyle
my friend has to do this for ROTC haha
@usernameformychannel Aw that's so sweet of you to tell me that! Thanks
@winxclub710 all you do, as she said, was to cut off the tip of the sock(where your toes go) and from there roll it up on to itself.
What's the best hairspray product out there so far that you would recommend?(:
OMG you look so much younget with a bun up, so pretty too.
where'd you get your guitar ring?? it's so cute!
@lilugirl101 Watch THIS video because the instructions are in here. Pay attention to 0:08 to 0:20 =]
@winxclub710 Watch THIS video because the instructions are in here. Pay attention to 0:08 to 0:20 =]
@urHOTyup28 Aw thanks! Ya...that method doesn't work for me...probably bc my hair is quite thick and there are layers in there =/
@orangeyumpop Haha really...I guess this will be the closest I'll ever be close to one cuz I'm quite the clumsy type hehe
ooh this make u look just like a ballerina yaya
@winxclub710 You can find how to do it if you write ''sock bun'' on youtube!
@CharlaMarie95 Haha that sounds so sweet, yet creepy LOL Thanks for being so awesome!!
@winxclub710 Just cut the closed end of the sock, and then start roling the ends together (: Hope I helped
@asiangur615 Thanks, girlie
haha whaaat. sock donut? ahaha.
@runnslow $2.50 @ Forever21!
@YaYaLifestyle oh haha, it's fine. I dont think anyone really noticed anyway (;
wait how does it become a circle? the sock holder thing?
@YaYaLifestyle AND I didn't copy and paste that.... I remember it from 7th grade vocab tests...
@winxclub710 just cut off the part of the sock where your toes would be and then roll it up
@megamiKitsune I hope it worked for ya :]
@Coglitter Thanks for the copy & paste. I bet your peers must "love" you in school. If you check more sources, you'll find that a chignon is not limited to mean a roll or knot of hair ONLY at the nape of the neck. Regardless of the origin of the word, people today often used it interchangeable with the word "bun." I don't think everyone was expecting a low bun when they clicked on the tutorial. Otherwise, your comment would have gotten tons of thumbs up by now =]
They sell the sock donut at Sally's for like 3 bucks. Just go on sallybeautydotcom and lookup Hair Stylers Black Mesh Chignon. Sorry it would not let me post the direct link :)
@winxclub710 It's a sock with the toe snipped off.
@belieber4evrnalways hahaha.. i didn't notice it too ;p
@waterlily716 Haha
will the sock show if my hair isn't as long as yours?
@elisel822 Thats exactly what i was thinking
theres a way better way but its harded
you like roll your hair into it from the bottom and it looks soo perfect
and theres a way to get really pretty curls like that
check out Loepsie 's video on it
btw your really pretty
@AsianBeautyx89 Nope...I'm Taiwanese ;)
first to like! first to comment!!! XD
you missed the 'e' in YaYaLifestyle at the endd (:
@Coglitter shut downnnn :P
