Jul 31 We play chutes and ladders, when we are not bog-hopping, on this very tough day of hiking. Big milestone! #appalachiantrail #unrecognizablehikers #at2020nobo
Congratulations on reaching Maine I have followed your videos from day 1 and enjoyed them. Thank you for sharing them and taking us on your journey with you. Stay safe and be careful.
WOO HOO!! MAINE!!! Huge milestone!!! Look like an incredibley hard day and you two aced it!! Stay strong and hike on!!! Thank you for letting us tag along!!🙏🙏🙏
Great video. Slider, I kept wanting you to stow or throw the trekking poles and get down on your bum. You scared me. What an epic journey. You are showing so much more than I’ve ever seen. I’ll recognize a lot of places next year and be thankful that you showed it to me first.
A great video today. Congratulations on reaching Maine and staying safe. Will be looking forward to your video through Mahoosuc Notch. Be very careful about stepping on the roots and logs on the trail. Saddleback Motor Inn near the trail in Rangeley is a good place to stay. Right next to a resupply point and then go down into town for restaurants, outfitter, etc. Typhoon
Congratulations on Maine!! I'm getting so excited for you. Stay safe!!! Some of that climbing you're recording makes me catch my breath watching you. 😳
What a day, another successful day! Milestone entering Maine. As I was seeing the bird at 1:00, the first thought that came to my mind was that it looked like every iteration of a Partridge that I have ever seen around the Holidays!
Wildlife, views, moving clouds mud, bogs; What more could anyone ask for? Wow! This day is epic in that you made it to Maine. Stellar!!! 282 to go. How does a woodpecker not get a headache? LOL Rebar, technical climbing and stairs. Welcome to ME. Great video and analysis. John from MI
Congratulations on hiking all the way to Maine!! 💪🏻😀. Love ❤️ Maine and vacation there twice a year - it is so rugged and beautiful with lots of lakes and now blueberries! Slider named this video “shoots and ladders” perfectly!! 👌🏻. Thank you for another spectacular video 👏🏻🤗
Spruce grouse, woodpecker and white thoated sparrow. The eye looks a lot better Granger, and Slider is the master of descents now.. Another epic section behind you !
Wee, I'm worn out just from watching you go up and down the stairs. I know ya'll are tired. Great video and great shots on the ups and downs. I've heard southern Maine was hard and your video showed that!!! Thanks for taking us along!!! Get some rest and stay healthy!!!❤👍👏
Welcome to Maine. Unfortunately the first few miles of Maine are not very hospitable, but after another day of bouldering (the Notch) and steep climbing (the Arm), the trail will be more normal until you reach Katahdin. There are a few steep climbs and rocky scrambling sections, but nothing like your last week or two. You'll be able to return to your normal pace and maybe take some time to take some side trails to catch some great views. A lot of the trail in Maine is rooty, so you do need to keep an eye out, especially when they are wet. Enjoy your stay. Peace, Love and Kindness.
Wow! So much more erosion than there was in the 1990s! I don't remember any rebar rungs set into the rock! There were a few ladders and stone staircases, though, and, yes, it was difficult! The bird is a spruce grouse. They will perch at eye level and fly just ahead of you for many yards at times. They just seem to be curious. Congratulations! You are now official "Flatlandahs" in the Maine dialect. 😁
Congratularions on reaching Maine! Less than 282 miles now to reach your NiOBO goal. I can't wait to see you both raise your ttrecking poles and proclaim "WHOO!" ar Katahdin! Beautiful birds today, but definitely technical trail. Rest well and can't wait to see tomorrow's offerings.
You guys make so nervous with those trekking poles. I'm thinking a pair of climbing gloves from New Hampshire on would work better. Stay safe and keep hiking!
Your three birds in the video are spruce grouse, black backed woodpecker, and white throated sparrow. Great shots. Don't know you you do that and those climbs too! Be careful!
Excellent shroomage! Thank you for that. I just broke my blasted foot, so I'm hiking vicariously at the moment. Now I have to ask you the same question I ask all the other hikers; did you find any gentian at gentian pond? Take care, you're nearly there! Oh, and thanks also for the bird footage. They are beautiful.
Congratulations on reaching Maine I have followed your videos from day 1 and enjoyed them. Thank you for sharing them and taking us on your journey with you. Stay safe and be careful.
I so enjoy your videos and thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us. I find myself holding my breath at times when the trail is so steep.

Maine is one of my favourite places in the world, but I’ve never hiked the AT, so I am seeing it from a whole new perspective. Thank you!

As they say in Maine, "they're from away". I have watched dozens of AT videos and never seen the trek you made today.
Welcome to my home State of Maine, " the way life should be"!!!! I am so enjoying watchimg your journey! Congratulations!
Hello Maine, goodbye bridges.
I think Id be a bit sad to reach the end of the trail. Happy and sad lol
I know you have heard it..."No Pain, No Rain, No Maine". You have accomplished it. Congratulations.
Full Goose is so beautiful but so hard. Another one of those poorly advertised difficult mountains. Still: only one more really hard day!
black-backed woodpecker, Spruce Grouse
Congratulations on reaching Maine! Love the views!
