Nice utility truck, saw it on the Instagram and was drooling over how cool it is. I have a 1986 C20 Chevy utility truck SRW that also came from Oklahoma, but did not have all the rust issues. So find that strange, but that all can be fixed. Mine originally had a 350 with TH400, but I swapped in a LS 6.0 with 4L60E and not is is pretty fast for 6000lb truck. I think you should go with a LS 6.2L supercharged with 8 speed transmission. Make it the best of the best and be a sleeper like any LS in a Square. Funny with mine people seem to think it is still an old slow tire V8, but it is still pretty quick with the 6.0 in such a heavy truck. Look forward to seeing what you do with it and love the patina on it.
8 speed? What an I going to do with all those extra gears? 😂. They only came with 3 or 4 back in the day. I don’t think that 8 Speed will handle the amount of power we are trying to make 😎
great video, i dam near fell out of my chair laughing through out the whole video, that is a nice old truck for a 75 , you can do a ton of things and you do have a massive engine compartment , so if your gonna do drag/drive you don't care about fuel economy right,😂 when GM brought out the Vortex series of all the V8's in the 90's the 7.4 litre 454 was an awesome platform for building some pretty good stuff, I had a customer of mine who i sold a 1997 Chevrolet K3500 crew cab 4x4 with this 454 V8 and he did a ton of drag events with this truck, it had a max range of 220 miles, so he had a whiffle charger installed on it, before that the truck drove good after that the truck drove great and that was the first time i ever saw a dually 4x4 do nice burnout , it was epic seeing the look on his wife's face , it had stock about 175 bhp and the whiffle charger and intercooler install it was just under 325bhp and still only went 200 miles on a tank of fuel, it was smiles per mile and it didn't labour any more going uphill in cruise control, there's apparently lots of these motors around at wreckers, the only thing he did was to upgrade the trans cooler capacity, just my 2 cents worth , whatever you guys do with this Green service machine will be epic, no 2 ways about it 👍
