Solder joints & heat shrink would of made a nice install!!
Check out the video of the amps that is basically finishing off the audio install on the car everything is redone with soldered heat shrink
But we are definitely on the same page do it right or don't do it at all .

Hey great video! I have a 2007 Z4 with the Business CD that I'm swapping out for a similar android unit. It's wired up, has power but no sound and the steering wheel controls are unresponsive. For the lack of sound do you think it's because the amp (factory unit) isn't getting any power? I didn't quite see what wire you connected the "amp control wire to. How do I figure out what the steering wheel controls are wired to, what color wires off the harness do you think?
I think your sound does not come through because of the amp and this is because half of your factory amp is in the BMW unit that you removed and the amp needs that to correspond and switch on ,you would need aftermarket amps like I installed having the same problems
This might also sort out the rest of the problems 😉
Is there a way where I do not have to use OEM stereo? The audio store threw out my old unit :(

All I wanted to see was if the radio fitted well and covered that big hole on the dashboard. But this is making me not buy the z4 I saw too much hassle cause of the design.

Dude for the life of me i cant find the adapter harness with the bottom part looking like AV cables, all i find has that area empty
