I just happen to find it on my overseas flight from the US to Dubai and later bought the CD with English translation. The Female violinist was the only recognizable actress (Melanie Laurent) that I had seen before in other parts. She was Shoshanna in the movie, "Inglourious Bastards".

He has a regular gig where he plays with this incredible group of old time gypsy players. Violins, dulcimers, accordions, stand up bass and flutes. The particular group Angel plays with is, "Taraf de Haidouks". You can see some of their great performances here on YT. You'll see some of the fastest playing in the world. And, there's singing. IN the movie, "The Red Violin", there is a long period where the lost violin is in the hands of some gypsy tribes and being used over and over as it's handed down thru the generations of gypsies.

The scene is about the confrontation between theory and practice, sterile teaching and teaching of life, wand what is art about etc...
