- This is a video I wanted to make for a long time for Halo ODST, ever since I heard Cannon Division's version of Blood Upon the Risers, and then I finally remembered this project when Helldivers 2 came out. I think it fits much better than it would have for Halo.
sorry if some of the editing is crappy, I don't have a lot of experience and there was JUST enough footage for me to use to make this video.

The great part is that sci-fi elites like Helldivers, ODSTs, and MI are just logical continuations of the paratrooper
this is the second fan made trailer ive seen come up now. this is the only game ive ever seen where people loved it so much they made high end trailers to get other people invested into it. The whole community is actively trying to bring in as many new people as possible by any means necessary and its one of the most incredibly uniting and beautiful things ive seen in my time as a gamer.

I just realized, once we get the mech, Malevelon Creek might be do able, but I'm just a United Citizen, I'm not 100% sure, as I've never experienced the creek myself.
It might be a turning point like how Tanks were in WW1
I haven't played this game at all and my only source is the comments section from exactly one meme, I've heard Malevelon creek is easier if you use guerilla tactics instead of a head-on assault. The meme was a video of the robots walking right past a squad that was laying down in some brush, so apparently there are some stealth mechanics in the game and it is possible to sneak past enemies to get to strategic positions.

I was there on the creek, when we lost the battle it was a blow to democracy and morale, once we are granted the fire power, creek will be a massacre this time for those damn automatons
Honestly, this is a perfect addition to the trailer. Feels and sounds very professionally done. Heck the timing with the music fits amazingly.

its also poetic. blood on the risers was created during WW2 by the paratrooper division. the casualties seen by that division was one of the highest not just from enemy fire but from poorly trained or neglectful troopers no packing their shoot properly. if you listen to the whole song (the cover doesnt sing all of the verses) youll see the song is about a rookie going on a drill and because of his poorly packed shoot he ended up dying.
@vincevalentine2407 That's actually this game in a nutshell. Helldivers have less than a day of actual training and then sent to the meat grinder. Pretty spot on, actually.
The paratroopers were the most well trained units in the army. The risks were so high that any number of things could have gone wrong during a jump even if everything was done right.
The song serves as a cautionary tale, sure, but it's more a song about how futile the hope for survival is in war. Basically, you're singing, "Hey, we're probably going to die, but what a hell of a way to die."

Some minor criticism, I'd change jump to Dive, and Malevelon creek into The Creek (The Creek flows better i think. And helldivers 'dive' not jump.)
If you're chill with it, I may slightly alter the lyrics (like what @gamenut112 said) and actually try to make a cover/parody. I think this could be a fun project to work on.

I'm an infantryman in the u.s. Army, I just finished 22 weeks of training, so I had no idea about this game. And we'd sing blood on the risers when we were rucking. And this is amazing.

The original Blood Upon the Risers is about a paratrooper. During ww2 my grandpa was a paratrooper, if he was still here to see this I'm sure he would love this. keep up the good work.
