Five year old Charlotte Nott developed septicaemia through type B meningococcal disease infection. I deeply sympathise, my son contracted meningococcal meningitis at the age of 15 months and lost both his legs,, fortunately not his arms. He went on to live a very successful life. A piece of advice though, keep a check on her kidneys. Paul died this year at thr age of 43 with kidney failure. Good luck she’s a very brave and beautiful little girl,

correction (sorry): meningococcal B has no vaccine available in england.

There is a vaccine available in the UK now, but it was only introduced in September 2015 so it wasn't available for Charlotte when she was a baby.
