I have a suggestion for your green catit tower feeder based on my previous puzzle training experience with my kitties; maybe put food on the bottom (easiest) level and let them figure it out and as they progress make it a little harder using the next rows.
I despise feeding kibble as well but now I have an air fryer and you can cut up pieces of cooked chicken and even cooked beef and put them in the air fryer and use that instead. Yes it’s time consuming but you could cut these pieces up while you’re sitting down watching UA-cam tutorials or any television shows
Lol. Well, you can always go with one of the plastic ones they are good also. It's not in this video but this is currently my big boys fav: amzn.to/33v7UfJ
so across my research so far (adopting a new cat very soon), I'd gotten the impression that for the items like the ball and the mice, the feeders that move around anywhere the cat goes, those were more meant for treats, not really their proper, daily meal food. That it was supposed to be important/best/whatever that their daily meal food always stays still and in the same place (mind you I'm noting you can still use a slow/puzzle feeder for their normal food, just one that's stationary). that the balls are more of an extra, play time sort of thing. how do you feel about that? nice video!
I recommend using wet food for regular meals. These we just use for a bit of dry food to give them something to do for entertainment. We also put treats in it sometimes and/or toys. It really just depends on your cat's preference. ❤
@@ThatCatMommy what’s this person doesn’t understand is that in the real world cats are hunting for their food and their food does not stay in one place
That means training them will be super easy. :) Food-motivated kitties will do lots of stuff for treats. LOL. We have gotten ours to do tricks for treats. Also if you use food puzzles then you can keep your kitty entertained and out of trouble. :)
That grey cat with the tuft of white on it's neck looks almost exactly like my Aristotle! That is is crazy just how similar he is! Do you know what breed it is? I have always wondered. Mine looks like a Korat when I look at pictures online - obviously not a pure bred due to the white hair - but very similar. I took him to the vet yesterday for a checkup though and asked about it and he said its possible but quite unlikely because I had found my guy as a kitten on a busy street and Korats are from Thailand. He said he is probably an American short hair like most American domestic cats but cant be totally sure.
Where did you purchase the one with the cups? Ive purchased one cat slow feeder and I love it. The cat quickly caugjt on so ive had to make the hope smaller. Im lookin into purchasing more. My daughter was resistant but shes come around.
I'm not entirely sure if my kitty is chonky or not... Maybe you can help: So, he's a verrrrry long cat, but he's a shorthair... Which is all we really know about his breed. He weighs around 15.8 pounds🤣🤣 But he gets a bit less than a half a cup of dry food a day (switching to wet food soon) and wet treats for training. Oh, and he eats out of a bowl in the morning and in the Trixie puzzle feeder in the evening. He plays quite a bit and he's very active. But! He has a bit of a sagging belly... I read that this is normal for cats, but his tummy sags quite a bit... Sooo, I'm not sure🤔☹️ Your channel is great! 😁😁😛
It really depends on the cat. I do know boy cats are bigger than girls. I always just listen to what my vet says and my boys are a bit on the chunky side so we are just trying to help them to not get any bigger.
pouch (tummy sag) is normal especially in males. its to protect their belly and usually males its more prominent because they get in fights with other toms more often. an average cat will weigh around 10lbs, most are less than that. for your cats frame 15lbs may not be overweight but for an average cat it would be. you should look at his frame, feel his sides and hips and spine and most importantly get a vet's opinion. you can tell if a cat is overweight if he has extra fat on his sides and back. if you cant easily feel ribs with some pressure most likely it is a little over weight. breed won't matter unless you need to know his ideal weight, a vet will be able to tell if he is overweight just by looking at him and feeling him
If you are talking about the box nothing. It has holes on the side and top and they can try to get it out either way. This one is one of the easy ones they do also have others that are much harder. :)
@AlwaysARudd Oooo Ok. There are holes in the floors of each space of the tower so they have to navigate the sides and the holes to get the treat out of the side. Most of the time it falls into a hole and would move down to the next level. ❤️
The cardboard box one I just saw was going to be on Shark Tank. Cool idea. Thank you for checking all the items.😻
They are one of the best. We have been using them for years.

Love it.
The cats knocking it over are the ones who truly solved the puzzle
LOL. :)
I have the green tower as well. My cat hacked it and he has started to pull the tower toward him and let go so when it swings, a bunch fall down haha.
OMG! That is fantastic!!! LOL.

@@ThatCatMommy I have a recipe for cat treats that you bake in the oven and that’s another alternative
@@dcwatashi that's awesome. Would you be willing to share them?

I couldn't have the cardboard one. Any time a carboard box spends more than 2 seconds on my floor it turns to shreds xD

The catit tower has adjustable holes in the platform in the middle to change the difficulty.
Thank you! We tried everything but our boys were just not into it. I think I would have had more success if we had kittens.
Thank you for this video! Really helpful in trying to find a puzzle feeder for my cat
YAY! I love it! :)
my cats are the opposite and wont eat their dry food if a can of wet food is within 10 ft of the house
That is great news. You want them to eat way more wet food than dry.
The kitty on the left is so chill
He is a sweetie. :)
We don’t have over weight cats-yet. But they are food obsessed.

their tummy can also sag more if they were overweight and lost weight
The saggy pouch is called a "primordial pouch" i have one myself 😂
my cats did figure the tower out directly. Now we are into dog feeders a bit harder for them.
That is awesome. Hey, whatever works.
Which dog feeders ? My cats need something more challenging.
@@jameschristiansson3137 Here is my list of cat feeders. Some of these are really hard for cats: a.co/cDieGiR

I solved the feeder tree being pulled down by putting a heavy plant pot over the edge of the feeder stand so that it holds the it down 🙃

Hmm I wonder 💭 if Matilda could figure out cat tower
Well if you order if off Amazon and they don't then you can always return it or donate it to a kitty shelter.

LMAO. You must be a teacher because that sounds like something that was put on my report card as a kid. LOL.
I'm curious. How would you review something without talking about it?
