    Don't get me wrong, this video is awesome. But why in the world did you feel the need to talk over the sound of the Hunters melee-ing during myth #1? It would have been nice to have at least a clip showing the difference so we could see how noticable it was.
    Also I wish you didn't test the Cyclone lol, I've been abusing that gun while enjoying everyone else sleeping on it 😂

    Game developer / programmer here.
    The sticky bomb is clearly just hard coded to deal 75% of the boss max HP. It is just that simple.
    How the explosives work with walls is far trickier. How explosions are programmed in video games, is by calculating a spherical area around the explosion and typically you save it on a list. Then you apply the wanted things such as dealing damage and physics interactions for example, for each of the targets within that explosion radius. You probably don't want the explosion to go through everything, so you typically want to have a raycast from the explosion to the target, to check if there is walls or other objects between the explosion and the target.
    Well, Hunt Showdown has interesting penetration physics. There are different type of walls which are used for penetration calculations, for example the thin wooden walls are different than metallic sheets, so small ammo can penetrate wooden walls but not metal sheet . Long ammo can penetrate multiple wooden walls or one metal sheet. They probably use the same logic with the frag explosion. If there is only a thin wooden wall between the explosion and the target, the explosion damage is applied.
    But this becomes very tricky when you realize that there are a lot of small objects, such as barrels, crates, buckets etc. on the map. So I think the frag grenades give such a varying results due to small objects and clutter on the map.
    This sort of problems appear often on other games in cases such as throwing a grenade on a staircase. You would assume a grenade on a staircase to hit a target on the staircase, but there might be no damage at all if this raycast check hits a step in the staircase, leaving the target untouched and players confused. When it comes to staircases for example, you can create the raycast a bit above the grenade to make it unlikely to hit the staircase or have the staircase be a ramp in the physics calculations, but it is always a bit tricky.
    These are just my thoughts, and it is always impossible to know what they are precisely doing with their code.

      Could also be a damage clamp mechanic, boss is unable to take more than 75% of health from any one instance of damage.

      I use sticky bombs to kill bosses quite a bit, and all of them take two, and maybe where you stick them plays a part in it but I feel like they all take different amounts of dmg

    You didn't test the spread of the Romero hand cannon vs hatchet. You tested the damage fall-off because you used slugs. You need to test spread with buckshot.

    Met a player who only brings in ammo boxes, told me he kills players with it and take their guns to finish the rest of the team. Didnt believe him at first but he showed me some of his vids. Its totally nuts.

    Pennyshot being so useful on doors is huge. I'm gonna have to start bringing that, being able to pop a barricaded door and breach instantly is a gamechanger when you have to push into a trapped up compound.

    Ages ago they explained the explossives and wall interaction mechanic during one of the dev streams. All explossives wrap around corners - think of it a bit like a shadow projected from the point of explossion, but the shadow "wraps" around. Dynamites have higher wrapping potential than frags, and Im guessing big bundle has the highest. This is why your partner was dying when next to the door (it could wrap around over there), but not when there was no "entry" point into the room he was in. Similarily, he would most likely die if there was a window or a walkthrough hole. However if he was sufficiently far away from a corner/entry point, he would most likely be okey, as the imaginary "shadow" couldn't bend/wrap far enough.

    For the explosives bouncing off objects exploding in water. Your teammates also count… just so you know. If your buddy runs in front of you while recycling consumables into water you could potentially wipe your whole team in the center event room…. Hypothetically.

    im more suprised that "wax dynamite blows up in choke" was needed to be tested...I kind of assumed that was like...the whole purpose of it and the water was just a secondary benifit,lol.
    ((I actually do the same thing you were talking about in that clip but with the wax frag Bomblance. NO ONE expects to get tagged through a choke cloud))

    Love seeing all the legacy bugs with the new engine. Along with the inferior ui. We got hunt 1.1 with the update. You can defuse frag arrows and wax frags from bomb lance.

    But I suggest myth #17 about Romero was misleading, because pellet spread for shotguns is determined by its pellet pattern (a cone). In Hunt this pattern usually associated with normal buckshot ammo or with other custom ammo types such as penny shot and dragon breath.
    Whereas slug is considering a single projectile and doesn't follow this rule.

    For the myth where you tried to burn the guy in the water it may have not worked because you went in as teammates and not enemies, but as you said it could also be because of how the shooting range works.

      Many hours here and been playing since 2019. Burning when in water hasn't been a thing ever. I've had moments where just my lower torso was in water and they couldn't burn me. Not saying it couldn't happen because of a bug cause it's CRYtek after all.

      ​@@mehrunez4838 I've only been playing since last year, but I managed to burn some players in shallow water using regular fire bombs and the flare gun. It didn’t work every time I tried, but it did a few times. I think it’s a bug in the water mechanics in some parts of the map. I remember in one of the previous maps, there was a small puddle with deeper water that you could still run through.

    I wouldn't call ,explosives not going out in water because they hit a wall a myth. I'd call it a bug that has been in the game for a while now. Very sad to see it's still present in the new engine. Crytek has some explaining to do lol

    I used the cyclone when I got back into Hunt and found it pretty dirty. I think using it with various non-standard ammo variants give it the various respective recoil patterns, but I always thought it was a pretty strong gun. Never understood people’s beef with it.

    You can also blow up the explosives when a hunter is holding them by shooting at them if you aim at the general direction on their hand even if they manage to throw it it stills registers and blows up that can come in handy and might actually result in a double kill if two enemies are close with each other.

    Imagine you're pushing a compound after getting shot at with Poison Bolts and Incendiary/Explosive Ammo, you rush into the building and see a guy mid-placing an ammo box, he turns and runs at you, dodging your shot, only to smack you in the head with the god damned thing xD
    If that happened to me, I wouldn't even be mad, i'd laugh my arse off xD

    The penny shot/immolator thing must be relatively new. I've tested this myself before thinking that because it didn't explode barrels that it would not make him rage and explode but it did.

      With shotguns or derringer penny shot they've never exploded i found this out today while playing, but its inconsistent to one hit kill
      EDIT: i dont mean that it was always like this in the game, just that its never happened to me since i've started doing it in the new update, i have 80 hours

    I remember a few years ago, before questlines, you could get a weekly/monthly (don't remember how it worked) to kill someone with an ammo box, honestly I think there should be some hidden challenges or achievements for it, it's a really funny way to kill someone

    5:25 weird cause frag ARROWS won’t explode in water even if they hit something dry first
    7:50 also I feel like they just coded it to always do 75% damage to bosses if it sticks
    11:55 the liquid firebomb in water is def a shooting range thing makes sense that u couldn’t burn away health chunks while downed in the shooting range

    Funny story about that last one actually, back around when I first started playing, me and the guys got in a huge multi team fight over all the bounties, and all the guys got downed so it was just me, but I knew where I thought the only enemy was, then suddenly I got jumped out of nowhere by somebody and I panicked so hard I failed to switch to my melee, instead pulling out a toolbox, but I still ended up charging a melee with it, and then I legit just caved this enemy Hunter's skull in with the tool box lol, it legit saved the game, too

    #10 - that's on purpose, sticky is not supposed to one shot any boss
    #11 - explosions go through cracks in walls, so if there is a tiny opening, it will kill, if no crack in the wall then no dmg
    #16 - this stops working with high velo ammo

    The length of the stock would not change the distance the slug would need to travel before exiting the barrel, which is what would affect accuracy at range, the barrel length is the only thing that should affect that. 🤓

    For testing against AI you can just load into the advanced tutorial
    you have 2 imolators fenced into a small section at the compound and you can find every type of special enemy so you can test your weaponry on them

    Maybe the hellborne didn't die because some monsters have hidden resistance values ? For instance, hives reduce by 33% the damage they take from compact ammo and stabbing weapons.

    the wax dyno isn't a myth.. its literally as intended. did you know, chokes negate explosive bolts and frag arrows though? also, I'm pretty sure the sticky bomb's functionality when stuck to a boss isn't a flat damage number but just as you said; 75% of it's health. also working as intended. the explosives in water is a bug and has been for years. burning in water doesn't work. enough of their body has to be out of water for it to work. almost any explosive can kill through certain walls. depends on how they coded the wall, if it has doors, windows, or even cracks in the wall. if a wall has cracks large enough to shoot ammo that can't penetrate through it or sometimes even cracks you can see through, you'll 100% take explosive damage. frags go through a lot of floors/walls. some of this info was good.. a lot of it wasn't myth at all. in fact I'm not even sure where it came from as being a question. more accurate title would be "hunt tips/secrets/info you may not know".. a good example not mentioned, if you have all 3 clues for the boss, you can view it in darksight. if it's not moving, either no1 has engaged it yet or it's already dead. if it's moving, someone is fighting it. this used to be accurate for the indicator on the map but that was patched. dark sight still works though.

    I realised the penny shot agaisnt immolators when i jsut decided one game to "fuck it" and shot immo with terminus and when it didnt explode my face was like watdafak. after 1500 hours you still learn new things it seems

    Hello, For the grenade and dynamite kills trought walls its simpler than that. I tested it before Hunt 1896 and its just based on distance. You can die trought any wall be it wooden stone or metal as long as you are within 4or5 m from the explosion. And i mean you have to be in that sweet spot of 4/5 meters. If you are closer than that you won't die, is you are further you won't die aswell. Its a bug that existed since the launch of the game and it never got fixed.

    they changed it a few patches ago, that hunters dont burn in water anymore. instead the fire ticks away the health bar for as long, as the fire is there.

    My guess is that the hellborn thing with bombs isn't unintentional. If he could just be insta deleted by any old dynamite stick that'd be pretty lame, and he's already a bit easy to kill so I'd say it is fair.

    Another myth for you to test, that nobody's covered so far:
    Check if you can kill smb with a sticky bomb throw to the head. Not the blow, but the hit itself.
    Because my teammate did it.

    There are some places where you can set people on fire that are still in the water. But when you walk there you dont hear water and they are just touching the water and are not really under it. Happens when there are stones or other stuff so thats seems more like a glitch with certain points not conting the hunter as under water because the model is help up by a tiny rock or something like that.

    Great video, some pretty interesting stuff. Only thing that bothered me is that you kept talking over the clips of hunters melee sounds. Just a minor nitpick I would've liked to hear the game audio by itself atleast for a few seconds.

    Psychoghost did a spread analysis of the handcannon some time ago. The hatchet has HIGHER spread than the handcannon.

    Someone probably already said this, but there's a bug with explosives, where under certain conditions, you will take damage through walls, regardless of type of wall, including concrete and stone.
    They haven't fixed this yet either, i've had it happen to where i die from a dynamite that lands on the floor below, with no line-of-sight to me

    Pennyshot, starshells, and Flairs are concerned blund dmg so they dont ignite immolators

    Pennyshot being usable against immolators makes the poison nerf hurt a lot less

    05:36 when you talked about rotjaw... thats basically how I killed rotjaw 50% of the times. I thought most people already knew about the "myths" you are talking about. I would personally call it game sense but yeah I guess its not common for everyone

      I only just learned of this trick! I had been timing dynamite air bursts on Rotjaw’s head when it’s surfaced and have one shot it a few times when teammates let me.

    Hellborn does get damaged more when you hit the sticky on his head, i think you missed in your test. It doesn't insta kill him but it does do somewhat more damage, half a bar to be exact.

    I think you misunderstood Myth #17: Romero Hatchet has actually less spread with buckshot (standart ammo) than Romero Handcannon, giving it higher effective range. This has no effect on slugs. I don't know if or how much flechette/pennyshot/dragonsbreath are effected by this.

    People just forget that pennyshot deals Bludgeoning damage. It behaves similar to every blunt melee. Description of it is a bit misleading.

    You hit the head with the ammo box. since the update all head hits are ista kills. I wouldn't confirm that as ammo boxes can "one hit kill"

    Regarding chokes and explosives: If you are in a pinch and feeling like a maniac - you can cook off explosives in your hands, even in choke clouds, and they will blow up (and kill you, and anyone nearby)

    About explosions and walls there is a full research in russian. Long story short, it is a bug. In some cases you get a blast wave behind a wall. It is not about doors, it is about distances.

    Teamate sounds are amplified
    Don't take them as reference to how well you can hear other hunters.
    Pro tip for opening barricade doors: ping the position of the bar and shoot it though another wall

      Idk if that’s true or not, but even if it’s true, when both hunters are my teammates it makes no difference if they are amplified or not. Just like in math, if you add +2 on both sides, nothing changes.

    you can 100% burn people with a liquid firebomb in water unless they recently changed it. maybe that is something they did in the update. i remember during the rotjaw event mike was talking about how it was important to bring liquid firebombs, not only for the rain but for burning them in water. so weird.
    I would be curious when rain comes back if it does work in the rain still?

      I’m trying to find this out myself but everyone is commenting something different lol, some people say it was a feature and got removed, others saying it was never in the game, and some saying it will work in bounty hunt and not in shooting range, and others saying you can do it in some pools of water but it’s random…

    I've seen the video of the dude who tested all the explosives and the basic rule is following
    - all doors and windows are penetrable
    - if hunter even with his tiny bit could be visible by the explosion generator even through the closed door - then hunter recieves the damage
    - even if the tinies bit is visible the hunter recieves the full damage to all body parts
    so thats the explanation why from the door sides hunter was taking the damage but from the solid wall even though the same type - he didn't

    Взрывы гранат проходят через любое препятствие на стыке где урон резко уменьшается, у разных гранат это разное расстояние, но так вполне можно убить людей через каменную или кирпичную стену, ну и крайтеки знают об этом, но такое случается не так часто так что исправлять не собираются, так что если хорошо приноровится можно убивать сквозь стены мосты укрытия и т.д.

    A bit like Scrapbeak helmet resisting to slashing, but not the body.

    For #9 i suggest you test it on live servers. The old free-roaming tutorial did not behave the same when it came to the nades exploding in the water after bouncing off a surface bug, so it's possible the shooting range might also not provide identical results.
