    I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
    My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
    // NEW CONTENT ON UA-cam //
    Sometime in 2023 I will return to UA-cam with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.
    ********** // VIDEO DESCRIPTION // *********
    A question I get asked all the time is: “Will the fascial adhesions EVER really go away?” And: “If they do, how long does it take?”
    Some people even write me saying they spent a few minutes doing a fascial release technique of mine for the standard 30 seconds per spot, and the adhesion was STILL there after a couple minutes…and they’re wondering if they’re doing it wrong.
    You’re probably going to like and dislike my answer, ha. That’s because there is no single answer I can give you, such as “spend 3 minutes a day for 10 days on your quads and the clunks will disappear.”
    We all want formulas and hard rules to live by, and guaranteed outcomes...but life isn’t like that, and neither is fascia. Go figure.
    From my time spent with clients since 2008, having worked with thousands of bodies and different kinds of people from all walks of life...I can tell you it’s individual. You and your fascia and nervous system tendencies will determine whether your fascial adhesions will disappear.
    But here’s the GOOD NEWS: you can exist with fascial adhesions in your body and have NO pain. And, you can optimize your fascia to your specific upper limit threshold, feel light and buoyant and free - and still have some fascial adhesions.
    In some people, fascial adhesions will disappear with repeated sessions of effective fascia release.
    In other people, they may never disappear. But, they will get increasingly less painful or intense to “release” with compression and shearing.
    Your recommended GOAL with fascia release is optimization (so you feel great and prevent future pain).
    If you’re using self fascia release (rather than Kinetix, or working with another professional who can optimize your fascia with you), then you’ll continue releasing your fascia until it doesn’t hurt at all when it’s compressed and you move under that compression.
    Still have adhesions but zero pain in your fascia when compressed? So what? It doesn’t really matter. It could be your body type, it could be that you need more weight than you can achieve with self help...but as long as you’re pain free, feeling light and bouyant and it no longer hurts to release your fascia...you’ve done an AMAZING job! Yay!
    My standard recommendations for “how long” to release fascia are as follows:
    1. 20-40 seconds per spot
    2. 3-4 spots per muscle group
    3. Work your target areas (or your whole body for optimization) as often as your schedule allows (so long as you’re not getting sore).
    4. Do this until fascia release no longer hurts, and then create a maintenance schedule for yourself based on YOUR unique needs. Super athletic? You might need daily sessions. Working on problem solving or healing a specific pain or injury? Near daily and weekly sessions will be necessary until you make sense of your pain, get to zero and then - I encourage you to go for optimization.
    Did this answer your question(s) about fascial adhesions and whether or not they’ll go away? Share your thoughts below in the comments section! I’ll see you there :)

    My wife is 62 . She has knee pain since 2006.I am using your techniques on her
    Since 4 days and now she is 60 percent
    Pain free. Your videos are blessing to us as we have been asked to go for knee replacement here in India. But now I am sure that with your techniques she will be completely pain free within a few days.

    I had always wondered why trigger point never seemed to work on certain spots. Everyone would encourage me to do massage but so many of the “knots” were still there so it felt like a waste.
    I really appreciate you sharing your experience and practical treatment goals. It really makes a difference in how I view my body and pain

    Thanks for this video! I have a similar body type to yours - I was a dancer and I have big legs. When I was my smallest I still had big legs. I’m finding that when I work on adhesions, I can stop the pain but the adhesions remain and the pain comes back. This gives me confidence that I am on the right track and persistence is key. Thank you!

      You can definitely eliminate the pain and still have adhesions - pain is triggered more by the nervous system via pain receptors and your brain interpreting that there is some danger happening. Sounds like you're doing great work, keep investigating and I know you'll find freedom!

    I have a typical yoga body as I practiced yoga for 17-8 years. I have had hip pain on and off for almost a year now. I have tried every type of therapy and the pain always come back. Until I started your fascia release technique on quads, I started to see some improvement of less pain. I am at the stage of trying to find out the root cause. Will you make a video on how to find the possible root cause for hip pain based on your clinical experience working with your clients. I have pretty much all the symptoms in the hip/pelvic region, and I am about to give up (crying).

      I also have hip pain and rolling the quads has helped a lot. Engaging the muscle-pinning and shearing with movement give me pain free for a few days. That allows me to move to other areas. I’ve been rolling my ITband (OUCH + tears, btw yelling helps) and calves. Seems to be helping but also bringing up new areas to address-knees- groin/inner thigh-low back/sacrum. Would you recommend a daily dose of K -therapy and chasing /mapping / shearing?

    At what point would you say “this is permanent” because I’ve had this issue in both my pecs for 2 years but only recently started treating it right. All practitioners at first didn’t do a good job. Want to get back to working out

    Yes, yes, yes!! This is what I've been doing! I think my root cause for pain is neglect!! ( I'm a 59 year old woman with the desire to stay active and pain free) I believe that we all fall on a continuum of fascia resilience. I think I'm low on the continuum so I need regular maintenance. Because i developed pain/problems and wasn't sure how to get better I tried diet, exercise, yoga, etc and then I found you, Elisha!! I was even diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which is dubious. You have given me the missing link. With regular fascia release I have gradually reached a place of "springyness!!!" With regular maintenance I'm able to pursue the activities I love, canoeing, biking, hiking and skiing, and working in the garden and around the house!! I still need to make sure I pace myself, and I sleep on an earthing mat, which I highly recommend! In conclusion, my three most important suggestions for coping with "needy" fascia are your techniques, yoga and earthing!!! I feel like I have my life back and am "released" from the drain of chronic pain!!! So Elisha, again, I thank you from the bottom of my ❤️!!

    Is ART similar to what you practice? I’m seeing someone who does ART soon. Currently my scapula does not glide at all and my subscap is adhered to my anterior serratus and also my lower trap is adhered to my lat. my 6 month journey has been with a sports chiropractor, massage therapist and getting laser treatments. It’s definitely improved my mobility somewhat, but the pain still persists mid back pulling on my sternum ~ if I over do it.

    How often should we do fascia release with a lacrosse ball for tendinitis symptoms? I am doing your suggestions daily.

    • @chironOwlglass

      I do it twice a day on my really painful areas. Using a gua sha instead of a lacrosse ball and using blackseed oil as massage oil for the gua sha will likely speed up your healing process. Sorry, I'm just so passionate about this because I used to be in such unbearable pain all over my body, and breaking up my adhesions has given me my life back again. I want so much for everyone else to experience the joy of healing as well.

    Hi there! I’m working with my face, particularly my brows. I have lots of adhesions in my forehead and brow area… wondering if you have tips on how to work them out? I’ve just been massaging and using pressure from my knuckles. Wondering how long it’ll take… been at it for a couple weeks.
    Thanks!

    It's a question I've been Battling with about the whole area of fascia but have been afraid to say it because I'm all in with what you are saying. I've always believed there are grey areas and not everything is Black and White. What would you say to this.

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  4 роки тому +2

      I don't see anything in black or white. Because we all have different histories, traumas, stressors, habits, mindset, felt sense, etc...our bodies reflect US. What's important is getting to know YOUR body, what causes and gets you out of pain, how to optimize for YOUR lifestyle and goals etc.

      @@ElishaCeleste Hiya Elisha I'm struggling to find my answer. Thank you. It wasn't a criticism. I love and admire what you have done. Turning 30 years of self discovery and hard work everyday to achieve very little hasn't been easy. I'm truly trying to be honest with myself. I'll get there.

    I punched my bookshelf when I was 19, 10+ years ago, and now I have an adhesion in my 3rd mcp joint of the hand, the skin doesn't glide smoothly rather it stops abruptly. Is there a way to fix it? Will physical therapy help

    How about adhesions on my cheek feels like I rolling over a number 2 pencil it won’t go away

  • @chironOwlglass
    @chironOwlglass 4 роки тому +2

    I certainly found that I had to eliminate the adhesion entirely to get rid of the pain. Honestly, what is even worse than pain for me is the sensation that part of my muscle is stuck. I feel like I'm in chains. I can't live with these adhesions even if they don't hurt, because I'm in literal bondage. But you really can break them up. You often have to use a heating pad first, though. I had horrible adhesions all over my body, and they literally all actually broke up with a satisfying CRUNCH only when I sat on the heating pad before gua sha-ing them. Gua sha is also a really important tool in breaking up adhesions. There are all kinds of different shapes - buy them all. They're like two bucks each on eBay. This process still took about 6 months for me personally, but I have EDS, so my fascia is utter garbage.

    • @chironOwlglass
      @chironOwlglass 4 роки тому +1

      Fascia is literally made of collagen, so if you have a lot of bad fascia, you very likely have a connective tissue disorder (EDS). It has nothing whatsoever to do with your weight. It's the quality of your collagen.

    • @chironOwlglass
      @chironOwlglass 4 роки тому +4

      Also, in addition to gua sha, I really recommend using blackseed oil on your adhesions. Like, use the heating pad for an hour, then put the blackseed oil on your adhesion, then gua sha your adhesion, then do a lot of isometric exercises / flexing with the muscle that has the adhesion, and watch in glee as it pops like a cherry tomato.
