    // 2023 CHANNEL UPDATE //
    I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
    My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
    // NEW CONTENT ON UA-cam //
    Sometime in 2023 I will return to UA-cam with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.

    Video overview:
    Deep core abdominal muscles such as the transverse abdominis, pelvic floor and lower iliopsoas can become inhibited for a few reasons, and I’m covering the 3 primary ones in this video.
    When your lower/deep abdominal muscles become inhibited, you can experience a laundry list of issues, aches and pains.
    From incontinence, digestive issues and painful periods to:
    ✔️ Mid back pain
    ✔️ Shoulder pain
    ✔️ Neck pain
    ✔️ Tension headaches
    ✔️ Eye pain/strain/diminished eyesight
    ✔️ Facial pain
    ✔️ Jaw/TMJ pain
    ✔️ Shoulder pain
    ✔️ Grip issues/weakness
    ✔️ Numbness and tingling in the arms and hands
    ✔️ Shooting pain down the arms
    ✔️ Mid back pain
    ✔️ Upper trap pain (upper shoulder tension/pain)
    ✔️ Poor LYMPH drainage of your brain, face, jaw and neck, leading to chronic inflammation, fatigue, brain fog, tooth infections that don't heal fast and digestive issues, to name a few.
    The issues, aches and pains are NOT a direct result of the deep core abdominals being inhibited, but rather a result of accruing compensations as other muscles have to take over whenever those muscles are supposed to be contracting and can’t.
    The lower abdominals play a crucial role in pelvic stability. Meaning - your hips are in alignment and all of your deep core muscles are active, functioning as intended and engaged in protecting your vital organs and spine as needed.
    In order to resolve this issue for good, you’ll need to find the ROOT CAUSE of the muscle inhibitions (covered in this video), and ONLY THEN will you be able to activate and strengthen those abdominal muscles.
    The absolute WORST thing you could do if you think you have deep core abdominals not firing is to try to strengthen them. You’ll likely just use the compensating muscles (such as your neck muscles, quad hip flexors and lower back (QL) muscles.

    Yep, that whole list of problems was me. Taking your Pelvic Instability class was important in my development. I lost proprioception in much of the deep layers in my body. I am so free of all of that now! I have no recollection of specific trauma but I've had poor posture all my life. Not anymore!
    I roll my low belly on a soft basketball.

    Have you considered adding images of the muscles you are referring to? It would be helpful.

    I definitely remember always straining with my neck when I ever tried to do anything like lifting weights (everyday life, as opposed to gym stuff) or straining in general. I'm a bit of a broken record but out of curiosity I looked it into it and I found a study that was specifically trying to help autistic children to strengthen their core as they're apparently pretty much guaranteed to have weak core muscles. I didn't really understand why but I thought it was an interesting data point.

    Thx for this.. you pack a lot in. I was listening while lying on a soft ball aggressively releasing some scar tissue in the left anterior shoulder area, but then backed off. Anyway- this is good news- to release my tight QL’s next in order for the lower abdominals to fire.

    @4:52 I'm becoming more and more aware of my neck muscles engaging. Engaging the muscles from my deep abdominal, up and around my side to around my shoulder blades helps to relax my neck and stop my mid back from tingling. I also unlocked a rock hard knot in my very upper neck a couple months ago along with releasing many muscles in my neck and elsewhere using a different method. I'm now going back through those areas using your method.
    I think I'm missing something though for my jaw has tightened up in the last week enough to cause intense communication to me.

    I’ve had many pelvic surgeries about 15 years or so ago. I’ve have tons of adhesions. I also had diverticulosis that was diagnosed 20 years ago. Never had any issues until a couple of years ago. I fear massaging my deep abdominals b/c of something tearing, or even have someone doing it. Now however, I have soo much shoulder and neck issues that are rearing their ugly head, also now starting lower back stuff. What can I do to start fixing this?

  • @joycehelenevandervalk615

    I can really relate to this. for some reason it feels like my lower abominal muscles are not functioning at all. As a result I have also breathing issues as my neck and shoulder, chets muscles seem to take over instead of the natural flow of belly movement. Is that also one of the symptoms of inhibited abdominal muscles? I have had panic attacks which has changed my entire breathing pattern, which also causes a very thight diaphragm and issues with good breathing. I feel a strong tightness of my fascia just on the solar plexus area.

      The course has been archived forever. I haven't officially announced this on my UA-cam channel, but I've stopped teaching self fascia release which is one reason the course has been archived. I stopped teaching self fascia release in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of partner fascia release. I archived SPI forever because it is such a complex issue that very few people out of 600+ that took the course actually achieved resolution. One reason for this, in my opinion, is that all of the people taking this course were dealing with chronic pain; and chronic pain always has a nervous system component that can be linked back to the subconscious mind and in many cases, trauma. But the course didn't provide enough guidance on the nervous system/trauma side of things.
      It sounds like (based on your other comment on a different video) you're interested in learning about fascia and the body. As a yoga teacher, you might be interested in Kinetix, and/or a course of mine called Mind Body Breakthrough. MBB is a deep dive into the worlds of fascia, nervous system, pain and freedom, mind and body, and is designed to help people "put things in their rightful place" so to speak.
      Meaning - put what is purely physical into the physical realm, and what is purely emotional into the emotional, and target each wound/pain as connected but separate issues requiring different strategies. For example, physical regeneration of joints and tissues requires a very different strategy than chronic pain that is due to trauma or getting stuck in a perpetual stress response like fight or flight or freeze.
      You can learn more about these courses on this website: www.thehumanfreedomproject.com/

    Is it possible to have such a tight low back that proprioception is lost? I used to have a very bad low back lordosis and pain but still trained, but now I do not have lordosis but I also have no feeling or control over those tissues. Would you suggest rolling them out, or trying to reactivate them?

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Rod - yes, this is certainly possible. Really dense tissue anywhere can lead to loss of proprioception to that part of the body. If you have low back PAIN, I would be hesitant to assume those muscles are the ones that need releasing. Usually targeting those muscles can backfire. Having said that, I am a really big advocate of trying things in order to learn. Your body will tell you if it likes or doesn't like something you do, with either less pain, more pain, or no change at all.
