    Kayley, can You pleeease make a video about how to make the curls last? I have hair very similar to yours, but mine go nearly totally straight after 20min from curling. I hold each curl for cooling down in my hand, I spray them with super strong hairspray, sometimes I clip all the curls to my head for even half an hour when i'm doing my makeup and when I loose them they look just perfect but after half an hour they're straight again. It's driving me crazy. Please help. :D

      Omg I have the same problem too! I'll braid my hair while its damp and fall asleep like that, but in the morning after I take my hair out (and use hair spray), the curls will be gone or almost gone after an hour or two.

    • @heyitsosman
      @heyitsosman 9 років тому

      Hey! You should try adding a hard hold volumizing mousse to your daily regimen. While your hair is damp add a huge dollup of mousse from root to tip and then flip your head upsidedown and blow dry it till it is 100% dry. That will provide LOTS of hold to any curls you add after :)

    • @jazzynaildesigns
      @jazzynaildesigns 9 років тому

      ***** I have the same problem. My curls look great in the morning then they are gone :(

    • @amycook8331
      @amycook8331 9 років тому +1

      ***** I had this problem, but i always pin mine up, and the older ive got and the more i curl my hair, the longer it lasts, i also think the quality of the tool you use helps, my hair will only curl with a wand and wont with a tong or a straightener so maybe try some different ways and see if that helps? x

    These are all great styles, buy naturally my hair has a lot of small, tight curls that have minds of their own. If I were to try any of your looser, effortless curling methods, I'd end up with a mess of bigger curls with a lot of awkward kinks in them, unless I spent an hour blow drying it all straight first. Do you have any advice on how to fix that? Do you think maybe sometime you could do a tutorial on somebody with naturally curly hair?

    Kayley, how do you prevent your hair from getting fried? I see you using a good amount of heat but you're hair always looks soft and shiny. I only use heat sometimes and I always use heat protectant, but my hair is fried! Help a girl out??

    • @kayleymelissa
      @kayleymelissa  9 років тому +7

      Well, I typically just use heat about 3 times a week and rock the 2nd day curls on the days between. I think one of the biggest thing I do is to moisturize my hair like crazy. I am all about the deep conditioners and leave in conditioners. I also make sure that the shampoos I'm using don't leave my scalp or hair dry, because obviously that counteracts the moisturizing that I do :).

    I love the bombshell curls look, but whenever I try to do that, my hair ends up looking frizzy after I shake it out. It doesn't look tousled and piece-y like yours. I do exactly what you did in the tutorial here. Any tips? My hair type is straight, thick, and I have a lot of it.

    Lovely as usual! Sorry if you have answered this before - could you tell what heat temp you usually use - or rather what you would recommend for fine - but difficult to curl hair (that is in good condition) - if you have time - I would appreciate it :)

    • @jacquelinsadventuresinmake1228
      @jacquelinsadventuresinmake1228 9 років тому

      I know I'm not who you were expecting to answer. But, I have the same issue and find that the nume wand holds really well in my hair. Also, a little bit of mousse before you curl helps.

    • @Annie65H

  • @Roscia1
    @Roscia1 9 років тому

    Hi, Kayley! Thanks for the new video! Can you recommend a dry shampoo that does not contain aerosol? I'm looking for hair powders that have fewer chemicals, and maybe last longer than spray cans. I don't mean last longer during the day, but that I can hold on to for more than a month. I find that I go through those spray cans faster than I go through bottles of shampoo, and I'm starting to wonder if there isn't a more economical way of keeping my second and third day hair clean. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks!

    • @kimberlyferreira8522
      @kimberlyferreira8522 9 років тому +1

      Try the Lush one, it's called No Drought. It's a loose powder and it doesn't come in a spray bottle, therefore it's not aerosol. I've had mine for six months now and I bought the smaller version, plus I use it a lot!

    • @kayleymelissa
      @kayleymelissa  9 років тому +2

      I agree with Nicolle Kimberly . I've not tried that specific product, but that kind of loose powder is your best bet. There are a few brands out there that do dry shampoos as loose powders. Baby powder is also an option, though I'm not sure if you're choosing to avoid talc or not. :)

    • @Roscia1
      @Roscia1 9 років тому

      Nicolle Kimberly and Kayley Melissa Thanks so much for the advice! I'll definitely buy the No Drought and give that a try, sounds great. I avoid talc on my face, but I have no objections to it on my head. I'll give the baby powder a shot, too. I was worried I'd come out looking like I was wearing one of those powdered white wigs from the 1700s, but I'm ready to try anything you recommend! Thanks much!

    • @x0Wicky0x
      @x0Wicky0x 9 років тому

      Roscia1 If you have darker hair, add some cocoa and/or cinnamon to the baby powder. Just a little bit, it makes the powder darker and less noticeable.
      But of course if you use baby powder on its own and let it sit for a few minutes (make up or drink some coffee) the powder will absorb the oil.
      Then shake the roots with your fingers again, I like to do it sometimes upside down, and the excess powder is gone you cant barely see white there. :))

    • @Roscia1
      @Roscia1 9 років тому

      Kameko Abbie I actually have very red hair. I noticed some dry shampoos come in brunette and blonde colors. I feel very unrepresented by the dry shampoo industry! I will experiment with some of my kitchen spices and see how much I end up smelling like a cake :) Love trying new things! Thanks

    I don't know what's the problem with my hair. I can hold the curling iron in my hair as long as I want, but i won't take the curl. When I take the iron out, my hair is still straight. Even on the highest temperature. My hair is straight, heavy and very thick. Do you have any tips? When I try overnight no-heat curls, my hair falls back into it's original form in an hour. :(
