Wow! What a blessing that I stumbled upon your channel. Love the way you present and explain everything. At 74, I've been a Zep fan since 1968, and just started playing the guitar within in the last year. You guys NEED to come to the Maryland Theater in Hagerstown, MD! Thanks for keeping LZ alive.
Being 81 and born in England, I saw Page play many many times. These riffs you are playing are well thought out and rehearsed. Oft times, he could not play his own riffs live, and used to revert to the good old pentatonic blues scales. The audience never twigged on. Being adoring fans! Please don’t put a halo around Jimmy’s head! He was a great, but flawed player, like most of us are.
@@JPG747 Not really. I have made a good living playing guitar. ‘Twas/ is my job. Maybe you are a plumber or a brain surgeon mate. Je ne sais pas. I chose music and never regretted it. My first gig was in Manchester, UK in 1956 Aged 13. Pre Beatles, and Stones. Elvis ruled the charts along with the Everlys and Eddie Cochran. Exciting times! All done on three chords! Just learning the fact that Cochran used a plain third string for bending was a revelation! A game changer! I am one of the “ drug free” exceptions as well! Some of my peers didn’t like the fact that I played clean. Most of them are now in rock n roll heaven, ( or hell) if such places exist! Lol! I am still here, at 81, now living in France, and doing regular live gigs. Solo these days. You do not have to be a bloody rock star to make good money at playing guitar buddy. In fact, many so called rock stars have relied heavily on studio players like me! (Never will, be or wanted to be famous) So, just let your favourite player be YOURSELF! Much better than idolising others! 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🤣🤣🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Fantastic reply! Thanks, but no I am not a plumber or brain surgeon, just a 60 year old doing IT for NHS 3 days a week and playing in a band down south trying to convince them to do a Zep number once in a while. Kudos my friend, and nothing wrong with clean! Much respect and hats off to you at 81. Happy new year!
insane I played these wrong as a teen partly--still-pulled it off in a garage band that played a few parties,,,etc love the Lemon song... low notes of an E major chord with a high B note so simply and genius
Prepare for a wonderful time, a fabulous treat, and a fantastic experience. I saw them three times, and each one was awesome. There were times I closed my eyes and thought the real thing-Led Zeppelin-was on stage. Enjoy!
GTLO is amazing. Wish you guys would make it to the Palm Springs area! We’ve seen the show 11 times when we lived closer to San Diego. Bring it to the desert!
Hope your Christmas was wonderful this year! now with that being said! Zep II is my all time favorite Zep album and my #2 all time favorite record behind, Dark side of the moon. As with DSOTM there is not a song I will skip when I through this record on. The pinnacle of Led Zeppelin. The best artistically the band sounded as a whole in my opinion. Yes yes I know rain song, stairway, Kashmir, etc. those are solid songs but those songs on their own are that specific album. THIS album. Zep II has just everything in it for me! It’s the album that got me really into Zep. Thank you again Tommy for sharing these lessons as well as your favorite riffs from these albums! I can’t wait for houses of the holy, I got a sneaky suspicion I know what #1 is on that list 🤔
The lemon song hugely underrated for how well written of a song all the way around. Drums bass and guitar. Love playing it and it takes awhile for no zep fans to start feelin in.
Heartbreaker/LLM can’t be heard apart - thanks to the radio years ago. 😌Looking forward to your opinion of III! You’ll for sure hit 5k 🙌🏼 keep these comin’ TZ
Oh, nice curve ball! I thought you were going to whole lot of love at no1! Thus pissing me off, as there is nothing as gnarly as Lemon! I actually saw them debut much of Zep2 at Boston Garden sometime around Nov 69.. I think! It was one of the only time I saw them play / open with Good Times Bad Times! And the only time I saw them do the Lemon song! What a Great Set! They covered most of Z1 & Z2!
Thanks again for these videos Tommy. I have a question to ask you. I realize you are in the group Get the Led Out and the group obviously has an agreement with the Zeppelin label so you can tour and play these songs live, but how do you get away with playing these songs on UA-cam? I get a copyright claim on everything I play (even my original work). I’m curious how others do this. I play with a backing track because nobody wants to hear a drummer play an original.
I’m not 100% on this but I believe it depends on the copyright holder and whether they allow you to use the track or not. You can’t monetize the video though I know that.
@ thanks for replying. Years ago (another channel) I posted a single video demonstrating how Bonham played triplets on Dazed and Confused and within minutes of posting I was slapped with a claim. I got scared and took the video down and never posted another one.
You never did the intro to “Rock and Roll” mate! His very best, co-ordinated with Bonham’s drum intro. I think Angus knocked it off for the intro to ‘ Riff Raff’ Very similar riffs. I may be wrong though.
@@TheProfessorsMusicLessons Yes, but I wan’t talking about any album titles. Just the interplay between Bonham’s and Page’s intro to the song “ Rock and Roll” and the similarity between the main riff of AC/DC’s “ Riff Raff.”🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I never understood why they never did livin` lovin` maid live. Then I heard JImmy didn`t like it cause it was too bubble gum pop or something? heck i never saw it that way. it was just another cool riff and song. oh well.
@TommyZamp thanks for what you do. Huge Led Head, Jimmy made me pick up the 6 string and JPJ kept me playing bass. Haven't learned anything from you but like watching anyway. Keep it up

Love these type of lessons. Excited to see Get the Led Out for the first time in January!

I agree, those two tracks were always played together!
Living lovin
That low E from Livin Lovin Maid sounds like the beginning to Communication Breakdown. Is that the same?
Yes it’s the same note.

Right on the money
Thank you!
I like how your LP has silver tops on the volume knobs and gold on the tone knobs 👌
They all had silver tops at one point. Touring takes its toll on gear no matter how careful you are.
I’ve seen GTLO four times and I’m looking forward to the fifth time in August.
That’s great! See ya in Aug!
My order is almost the same, just switching The Lemon Song and Bring It On Home.
Very cool!
Seen Get the Led out Three times in San Diego. The only band I have seen three times. They’re that good.
Sounds great zeppelin is my favorite band. Page has some awesome tone. How did you start learning songs just by listening to records or read music
Page does have awesome tone! I got a book learned a few chords and that was it. I don’t read music
So Lemon song is DADGBE tuning and the others are std. EADGBE correct? Great channel btw!!! 🇺🇲
Lemon Song is standard tuning. ✌️😎🎸🎶🎵🎶
Thanks!!! Moby Dick is in drop D which is DADGBE - The Lemon Song is in standard tuning EADGBE.
Finally some respect for Living Loving Maid
It’s such a great song!
In your opinion what are the top 5 guitars for playing LZ songs?
Les Paul, Telecaster, Danelectro, Gibson double neck and an acoustic
@ Thank you! How long did it take you to reach the level of mastery you have for LZ songs?
@@user-vbull haha no master here but thank you. I still learning something new every day
Play "The Lemon Song"!

Hi is that a CD player you are playing the song through
It’s on my computer
@@TommyZamp do you mean it's a program on the computer?
@@ScottWettstein-e7f yes it’s on Apple Music.
Danish Pete tele..?
No however that would be cool 💜
And Joe Walsh revealed the trick on whole Lotta Love and Steve Stevens copped it too
Cool!
I had the album 8 track cassette and CD
Awesome!
For me “Out On The Tiles” is always a mystery. I think Jimmy slides the first 4 notes, so not a stretch. it’s a difficult riff.
That song may show up in the next video when I go over Zep III
@@TommyZamp that would be great!
