First T5 infantry i ever unlocked years ago. have always been one of my favorite units love the dual weapon theme and their voice lines. "HAIL TO THE FLAIL!" i've been charging + tiger stepping with flails out lately and it's badass.
These guys are so epic. Always have been one of the best looking units and now with all the ISG and MAA running around these guys are beasts. I use them mostly with the flail, using sword only when vs unshielded stuff ( IPG once they have walked, Onna Musha, Orochi etc.). If the unit is in a blob fight I also go for the sword unless they have 1 or 2 shields in the melee. The new combat doctrine is not the best on them but it works and they do effectively get the buffs just not like Silhadars who all get the buffs as a single unit.
Great unit now. Although unfortunately they really come alive if you have the new doctrine. 15% heal and CCI popping every now and then is huge on these guys.
@@Alan-gt5lr with tigerstep in sword mode they hit relatively quickly and it procs off multihit. And 15% is huge heal for them. Honestly it feels like a different unit with them on.
Anyone know if full mid rest bottom is viable right now? I feel like the flail still just sucks as killing shields which I believe is the only reason to get mid.
I already posted this comment on earlier videos but check out Man At Arms. They have a buff that makes them better than Shield Maidens. First check internet about that. Not sure about veteransy lines and all that
Ypu have to wait for the flail hit after charge i think. First flail hit after charge does 3x damage or something like that That's why i went middle line for max blunt damage and multihit on flail. I tigerstep in flail for increased rate of attack when fighting shields really messes them up
@@hurstiwursti also aginst all those heavy shields in nowdays sieges, yes definetly going full flail is the way (they fling those pretty slowly, but still)
@@Bence3 sadly shield meta seems to be a thing of the past with op maa killing everything. Yesterday, two heavy armor heroes qith their maa disrupted the whole spawn and destroyed half my team until 5 heroes pushed their units at them at the same time. Lost half of them but they died.
@@Bence3 I agree but MAA meta sucks hard. Most people play completely shitty rn. Run away from everything never go in with their heroes, only take fights if the whole team is behind them and even then sometimes just waiting for others to lose units and then retreat without using theirs etc. got 200 kill games when i was able to do some flanking or play like i got no team but else i barely get 60 if i even remotely rely on any team support, map awareness or common sense.
I'm envious and confused. I run top line reapers with a little mid for the hero stun and the rest bottom. Doctrines are all the t5 health and Dr or armor doctrines i can shove on them with some damage. Mine get deleted by Samurai even when i just walk them in...

I have them built like this and they do pretty well against imperial spear guard which are really strong now

max top line to get shield bash, then at least 1pt at middle. The rest is free.
They’re being nerfed thank god. MAA right now are broken.
Will last until next patch only. I think they are getting nerfed. They were too broken.

Reapers are great units but at the moment due to onna musha and orochi I feel top line and rest mid and bottom is good
Full flail and only flail for me. Bottom rest for survival.
Given the new Zweihanders i think flail will be the strongest option.

thats normal, the samurai do a high armorpiecing damage
