welp if you wanna know the proper short version
it has a part called the hotend. one end of it is very hot to melt plastic the other is room temperature (ideally) to keep the filament from getting soggy and slowly melting while the hot one is being extruder
there's something called the extruder that pushes the filament down the hotend. so it basically is like a hot glue gun strapped onto a robot. it also has a fan that cools it after it comes out so it solidifies into the shape you want instead of drooping down.
it has 4 motors (at least) and one pushes the print or the head up and down. the other move it in X and Y (or in case of corexy they work togther to do that) and another one pushes the filament precisely.
the model is "sliced" into layers. which is litteraly like taking a knife and slicing an object into layers. but very very thin 0.2mm layers (usually. you can go higher or lower if you want) and it basically acts like a 2d printer or sketcher. it extrudes filament on where it should in a 0.2mm thick layer, after it's done it goes up by 0.2mm and prints the next layer. so it's a bunch of 2d prints stacked on top of each other.
